I had my hopes up for TES6 being the big E3 announcement for Bethesda (hey, I didn't say it was a realistic hope), but I am presuming this was supposed to be their big announcement.

That being said, I've never played the original Dishonored. What is it like? Is it fun? What do you do in it? How is the story? Yadda yadda - give me feedback.

First person stealth game. You are the Empresses personal guard framed for her murder. Your job get revenge on those responsible using either lethal or non lethal methods.

Ah. Yeah not for me. I mean the story sounds cool and I enjoy first person, but the stealth games tend to drive me nutty with the whole, "press this button when you're in this specific situation to do something that can only be done at that time."

Hooray, the first game is in my backlog of shame.

This is great news. The original Dishonored is an amazing game.

If has more freedom than you think. You can go in guns blazing, but it may be a bit difficult.
Not to mention there are multiple ways to approach a situation.

That's not Dishonored, not at all. It's an amazing game with nice large maps that have multiple routes. I could go on gushing about Dishonored, but that would just derail the thread.

Dishonored was weird for me.

It was excellent with regards to it's mechanics - stealth, magic you can use, dealing with foes in a non-lethal way, amount of people that you killed actually affected the ending and the state and feel of the world. Graphics were quite good (for a Bethesda game) and I didn't find any bugs or annoyances in the game.

But I didn't enjoy it one bit. I can't even really say why, apart from the general feeling of disconnection from the world and it's unappealing story. It has a silent protagonist, which doesn't make any sense (it's basically a first person action game, there was no reason for a silent protagonist) and you can kind of predict the ending during the first hour of the game - but that shouldn't be enough to disqualify a game completely for me.

I can only say, that from a similar genre, I enjoyed the new Thief far, far more (and dear lord, people were trashing this game on the internet a lot).

Dishonored put me off so much, I didn't even try out it's DLCs (despite the fact that I had them already bought).

Oh well that sounds a little better.

Yeah I never could get into the Assassin's Creed games because of the way the buttons worked in various situations. I like stealth, but not the way they execute it in those games. But I enjoy Elder Scrolls type of stealth; I'm in a crouched position that alerts me if I'm detected, and I have a bow and arrow ready to fire.

You don't have to stealth it at all. It's just more fun if you do. Honestly - and I rarely say this - I'd recommend playing it on the lowest difficulty just for the story and atmosphere. It really is that phenomenal (IMO).

If you're a fan of Victorian England Steampunk (Whalepunk), you'll love it.

I should probably go back and finish the first game.

Hmm, Dishonored was pretty fun to mess around with. Hopefully this one won't have garbage paper-thin story and cliche characters. Would be nice if the protagonist was voiced too' cause Corvo was about as interesting as a brick.

I hope the next Elder Scrolls uses Dishonored's combat and stealth as a base.

Between this and Fallout 4, this might be the game to look out for. Dishonoured was fairly good.

Yusss. Definitely psyched to see what they're going to do with Emily here. <3 If they can hit all the right notes again like the masquerade level of 1, I'll be a happy camper.

Well, that came out of left field for me.  I wasn't expecting the announcement.

I'm thrilled though!  I loved Dishonored's world and atmosphere.  It was phenomenal, and hopefully I can have just as much fun traversing stealthing in this one.

I wonder, will Emily and Corvo be interchangeable in terms of story missions or will switching between them be part of the plot.

I'm glad that we moved from Dunwall to someplace more tropical.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the city-state but I want to explore more of the Isles and even that giant unexplored continent far to the east.
