First steps, initial feelings

I got the game yesterday and spent most of the evening by downloading DLCs. Although I had read the Manual and planned by character developlment in advance, I had only little time for actual playing. I play the Dwarf Commoner origin and yesterday I just looked around, inspected the Inventory, Journal and so forth, had two conversations and walked around the first room.

So far, so good. As it has been discussed over and over again, there are not candyeyes which I consider a plus. It was a bit tricky for me to open the first chest, my character could not move to it. I managed only after I googled a solution: to switch to isometric view and carefully maneuvering the character so he got next to the chest in the only way allowed. It reminded me of buggy pixel-hunting adventures but never mind - it's version 1.0 so it would be nasty to complain about everything.

The conversations were great, really mature. Especially that with Mother [who plays the same origin they would now]. I would appreaciate a bigger font (or an option to set it) since the native resolution of my monitor is 1680 x 1050 and the text is really small.

The tutorial was a bit messy since I got only a few on-screen tips when I open the Inventory for the first time. [I'm sure there must be more tips, especially related to the camera but nevermind - I'm experienced with this type of games and I can look in the Manual any time.] It's just my obsesive-compulsive strive for perfection.

My character's tattoo was different to that I chose for him in the Character Creator and when I moved the respective bar to correct it, the whole preset changed and I had to start over creating my character. However, it was not a big deal since my character's face consists only of skin complexion, hair and beard ;o)

So when I get my real home this evening I willl leave my in-game home and start exploring the Dust Town.
