That was just Bioware wanting to alienate their pedophile audience. So maybe it was a good thing?

By the way, the pedo untertones with kitty and that young girl in DAO's stone prisoner DLC were really strong. When a little girl runs out of a room yelling "I won't let you inside me, I won't!"... The pedo undertones stop being undertones. At that point, it's just overtones.

Well I never thought about the Stone Prisoner quest in that way.   In a world where demons can possess you and most people know it, I did just assume that the girl finally realised what kitty was.   Thanks for creeping me out in future.

Anyway I think what most of us are saying is that it is odd there are no kids in the background.    I don't miss having them turning up as part of quests.    The odd thing is that dragons have babies, that we are forced to kill, and that big bear in the cave in the  Emerald Graves had babies, that we were again forced to kill, but for some reason the human and elven inhabitants of DAI have no children at all.    (We never actually visit or dwarven or Tal Vashoth settlement or I'd say the same of them as well).    Actually I suppose it would be more accurate to say they have no visible children.    Some places it is understandable as we were interacting with armies but the  Hinterlands did seem odd without any and in fact so did Haven, considering that in the Fade we have the memory of a child who was there.   Likewise Crestwood.         Not so obvious in Val Royeaux since clearly the nobility would leave the children at home with the servants.

It is as though the Thedas pied piper had been through while the Herald was sleeping off their first encounter with the Fade.
