There was a while yesterday when I couldn't find any Gold matches on Xbox so I gave up after 5 mins and switched down to Silver and got one immediately. Sadly it was Collectors on Condor and ended up taking as long as an average Gold match - very inefficient use of time in my pursuit of credits and RNG adventures.
In general my experience of searching U/U/G is the same on Xbox as it is/was on PS3, but specifying the faction on Xbox does seem to significantly increase the time spent searching, where it usually doesn't make any difference on PS3.
From http://forum.bioware...-this-subforum/ :
"Also, if you can't get games - meaning that the searching goes on forever - please check that your router has UDP ports 3659, 5659, and 6000 open for inbound and outbound traffic. If you are on PC, you may need to open those ports for UDP in Windows Firewall as well. Even if you can get games without doing that, you will find that you can find games a lot faster once those three ports have been explicitly opened."
Also, I find that if the search goes on for too long, opening the leaderboards and going to TOP and then ME, and/or opening the Store and selecting each pack in turn so the images load (no need to buy anything) will often reset the server connection and get me a game very quickly afterwards.

Really? And I thought the 360 had a higher user base? But yeah, sometimes when I start a PS3 lobby and then just as I'm about to invade BSN forums, because reasons, the lobby instantly fills up! "... You get off easy this time BSN."

So my advice worked?! I'm so happy!

I've been having trouble for a few months now. It turns out my power supply is dead, so I've just been staring at a blank screen. Don't I feel silly.
Still better than my last pug..
Well, I reset my router and things seemed to pick up a bit, so maybe it was just me after all. Also should double check those port settings from marksmad.
Just to be clear, I'm only conveying those, they are the ports listed on EA's sites. Curiously, 3659 and 5659 are listed separately, each as the correct port. I'm unclear whether it's a typo that propagated somewhere, but having both open definitely works.

Krogan, you're back! About time!
