I think it might happen. Although DAI was a massive disappointment, im still hoping for a lengthy expansion (TRUE EXPANSION) that will solve many of the issues i had with this game, or at least address them. No doubt ME4 will be revealed and a new IP alongside maybe a remastered ME trilogy for this fall but anyone else feel that it's a perfect time to announce an expansion if one is being made?
DAI expansion pack announcement at E3?

Ok thanks. Bioware has failed.

There is only so much time Bioware gets at E3. They are going to spend it on the TOR expansion, Mass Effect, and possibly the secret IP.
Anything Dragon Age-related will more likely be shown at conventions where they have more time, like the PAXs.

Would rather give my money for CD's expansion than an overpriced new area with boring content.

Speak for yourself, i stressed myself out about buying the dlc, but i can say it probably the best area in the game by far now, they defer listened to alot of feedback good or bad
Although tbh i do feel it was to short

This was nothing more than speculation from a tossed off comment on a single gaming news site. This is how things go awry, because Bioware has very clearly said over and again that another Awakening type expansion game is not going to happen in this franchise. Fans want it for sure, but those are the breaks.

Refusing to pay money for one new side area with no connection to the main story doesn't mean you're not a fan.

"No connection to main story"
How...
Okay, I guess the Inquisition, which is founded to restore order in a world gone mad, has no interest in dealing with an Avvar God intent on destroying civilizations across Thedas. But then, this goes to what some people oddly consider non-relevant and instead squak about "main quest main quest main quest too short" when they fail to realize it all does tie in so nicely. Every region is relevant and related to the main story.

the Jaws of Hakkon DLC was atrocious, the premise was interesting sure but it was just another terrible fetch quest area

By that reasoning, the entire game is just a fetch quest. You're just fetching Cory and returning him to the maker. In pieces. Via the fade.
Hell, some of the great rpg works are "fetch quests". The original Dragon Lance trilogy mods come to mind.

I'm seriously contemplating whether or not I should keep my copy of DA:I at this point. If Jaws of Hakkon is an example of what we can expect from future DLC then I don't think I'm gonna hold on to it. The game has been out for almost 7 months now, and we're apparently not getting a hefty sized expansion to it? Wtf? The way the game is structured it begs for an expansion.

I have nothing against fetching if done well (you can reduce most missions in RPG's to fetch quests)
In DA:I though its terrible, there are no interesting NPC's you interact with, no choices during the quest, no cutscenes
Instead we get a lame letter and Power
