If Jaws of Hakkon is an example of what we can expect from future DLC
It isn't. BioWare has said that they want to focus more on story for future DLCs

I'll believe if after I see it
They began working on Jawks of Hakkon after the game was out and still didn't adress any complaints (fetch quests, cutscenes etc.)

Honestly?
After yesterday I'm kinda glad that they didn't announce anything and I actually hope they won't - I mean, with all the announced titles and bombshells, like Final Fantasy 7 remake (I didn't play it so I didn't join the hype, but dear GAWD was watching Internet literally explode yesterday enterntaining!), the announcement for DAI expansion would just pass unnoticed.
Let the hype-train pass a bit, THEN let them announce things. Right now I think most people don't have enough room in their brain to register this much awesome.

Well it's been 7 months, and we don't even know what they have planned.

Jaws of Hakkon only came out four months ago, and they've tweeted about having people in the recording booth.
Iirc the VA for Leliana was in the booth singing, among other things.

I've got to switch over to my laptop from my Nook, but I'll find the tweets. I saw them in the Official Cullen thread in Story, if you want to look before I can post a link.
Edit, Llama, this is the first twitter ref I found. The rest are buried, but I WILL find them...

By that reasoning, the entire game is just a fetch quest. You're just fetching Cory and returning him to the maker. In pieces. Via the fade.
I agree, the whole game was a fetch quest...hence why a lot say it's Fetchquest simulator 2014.

"No connection to main story"
How...
Okay, I guess the Inquisition, which is founded to restore order in a world gone mad, has no interest in dealing with an Avvar God intent on destroying civilizations across Thedas. But then, this goes to what some people oddly consider non-relevant and instead squak about "main quest main quest main quest too short" when they fail to realize it all does tie in so nicely. Every region is relevant and related to the main story.
Because it has nothing to do with Corypheus or the breach. It's an after-game mission. A new story.
At least the optional areas in the main game were connected to Corypheus somehow. The Venatori in the desert, the Freemen, the Red Templars in Emprise and Storm Coast, the Reds and Freemen in the Emerald Graves. The only one that really wasn't connected was the Fallow Mire (again dealing with Avvar). Even Crestwood allowed for a place to meet up with Hawke and the Warden ally.

I rather enjoyed Jaws of Hakkon as I had long been interested in seeing Avvar life depicted within the DA franchise, but the dlc was clearly intended to be played post game due to its higher level requirements; and thus had only a tenuous connection to the main campaign at best.

Ahem, Forbidden Oasis?
It has a slight story connection to "In Hushed Whispers", as the door to the Alexius' throne room in the Dark Future is heavily implied (via a note from one of the Venatori) to have been taken from the Solasan Temple at some point during that year.
Very tenuous connection, I'll admit, but it's there... at least if you take the Mage path.

I have a feeling there is more to Solasan than we've seen. Maybe I am projecting, but anyway.

I'm expecting an announcement this week or next. They wouldn't have wanted to announce anything during or just before E3, as they'd by eclipsed by the onrush of gaming news.
Its been awhile since JoH was released, I'd be shocked if they didn't announce the new DLC ('m not bold enough to say "release it") within the month

As long as any new Dlc dials back on the Filler content and uses all the resources available to fix DAIs biggest problem its severe lack of Story than I will buy but if not I got TW3.I'm expecting an announcement this week or next. That is completely factually incorrect. Mary Kirby (or mabye it was Patrick Weekes, i'd have to look it up) literally said that they began work on Jaws of Hakkon after DA:I was locked but was already into production before it shipped.
Also, Fetchquest simualtor 2014? If you want to resort to childish insults, that's fine, but don't pretend its coming from an outside source and you're just an impassionate observer.

Cory and his Venatori were trying to get in to the Solassan Temple. You fight Venatori in the oasis.

Absolutely, although to play Devil's Advocate, you can miss this if you go to Forbidden oasis before relocating to Skyhold

It's not as related if you go early, that's true, but you can only get there by researching the shards, which you eventually learn are connected to the Venatori. So even if you aren't aware of it at first, the oasis is connected to the main story.

Yup, agreed. Smart move to just focus on the announcement of new games like the new Mass Effect. I'd say it'd be safe for them to announce the next DLC two weeks after E3 is over. Hype for other games should be low enough, and they can still grab some of the momentum of game discussions trending. They also don't want to wait much longer than that since DAI is getting old (for average viable DLC lifetime)
