I know this is for dlc but great points brought up on the "show vs tell" debate, I think the witcher 3 gets a lot of its credit for quantity of content rather than a specific design choice (currently 30 hrs in).

As for DAI expansions or DLC, I really hope we get something, game is begging for it and I think the fanbase needs something too.

Based on a survey a few people have done, it sounds like they're doing one more which should be bigger than JoH.
It's also supposed to be post game. No concrete details on that yet though other than rumour.

I feel JoH was a step in the right direction with more dialog in a few of the quests. Hopefully they can extend it.

One more?

I was hoping for a few honestly...like 2-3 Jaws of Hakkon-styled worlds.

The talk of an expansion is interesting, but it's DLC by any other name so it's a moot point. I bet people will complain about it anyway because its an Expansion anyway...

I do hope there is more than just one, or if there is a bunch of stuff planned, bundle it like you said. There is no rush to get these DLC's out, you can make them for up to two years if you really wanted to, just make some smaller bits each time, like Borderlands 2 or something.

We know it's at least one more then. Without an official announcement everything is subject to change.

And yeah those BL 2 headhunter packs were quite good for the most part. Pity they messed TPS up so badly that they couldn't do something similar.

EA does have a tendency to drop the ball when there's bad critics or little money being made. Sad really.

And that means less money for Bioware's next projects.

I only wish for more cut scenes. I hated that little shift and shallow dialogs.

How are they dropping a ball exactly? We KNOW that something is being prepared - we only don't know what it or or when it's going to be announced.

I mean, when something doesn't go how they planned it, they put money elsewhere, leaving the game short on budget wich means it won't be as big and cool as Bioware would have wanted it to be. I have yet to see Bioware ''Drop the ball''. But EA... That is another story.

And by ''dropping the ball'' I don't mean abandoning the game, I mean, it falls short of expectations and promises. Kotor 2, being the best example. Great game, great world building. Just falling short because EA desired it to be out by Christmas. Same happened with Dragon Age, Awakening and Dragon Age 2 falling short on critical and monetary facets, they don't want to put money again on a big expansion.

Seeing as DA:I was successful, they'll be producing more story-related DLC. As for expansions, everyone knows that BW has stated that they will not be doing expansions, unless you live under a rock or a stone bridge perhaps, OP.

I think your only purpose with this thread was to troll and take a shot at BW as soon as someone inevitably pointed out to you that BW has said no on expansions, which then allowed you to segue into "TW3 did everything better" mode. *rolleyes*

All signs on haven and earth suggest that DAI didn't "fall short of expectations and promises". EA was eager to praise the game's success and underline how well it did at sales. It was a critical hit and, if anything, DAI seems to have a revitalizing effect on the franchise after DA2 letdown. So I'm not sure why making it sound as if EA really did "drop the ball", when there's no indicator of it.

Also - there's no point assuming that they can't provide us with content similar in size to Awakening, just different in structure. They just won't waste their time and resources on introducing, say, new PC and followers, instead focusing on old team and new problems. That will make it an expansion - just not one LIKE Awakening. I mean, if the revealed survey is legit (and it appears it is), it suggests that they at least CONSIDER naming this hypothetical DLC an expansion - and I see no reason why they shouldn't, even in case this DLC was somewhat smaller in scope.

In any case - at this point we'll just have to wait and see. We know that something is happening, and hopefully we'll get at least a few answers relatively soon.

I agree at least with BioWare their expansions seem to be what we would get with an expansion with the added benefit of not having to wait a year for it to be released.  Besides I think people seem to forget how broken Awakenings really was because they wanted to get it to market before nobody would buy it, which is why DLC I believe DLC replaced expansions almost overnight for you have a greater number of people still playing the game when it is first released then a year later.
