Hello all, I have an original boxed game of NWN 2 *Limited Edition* It has cloth maps, art books the whole nine yards. Inside cover of the game manual is where the CD/Game key is located at. However the games keeps telling me the key is invalid.

I would like to know if there is anything I can do, besides having to purchase the game again. I would like to sync this game to Steam or Origin or  something so I don't have to keep installing it via the DVD, which my new PC really dislikes have to read this 10 year old disc.

It locks up my PC about 1 out of 10 times, every time I put the Game DVD in it.

ANYWAY, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

Here is a pic of the boxed set and DVD/Manuals. Just in case there are some nay-sayers.

Well, the way syncing on Steam works, unless they've changed it recently, is that unless you bought the game on Steam it won't let you download the data from their servers -- you'd still have to install from your disc.  And Steam stopped offering NWN2 a couple of years ago, though as I understand it if you bought it before they removed it then you can still install it from their servers.  I don't think it was ever on Origin.  But it's on GOG, which is better than both of those, in my opinion.  Also, GOG just started allowing you to "reclaim" certain games if you have a valid key so that you can download their installers from GOG, but it's only on certain games as yet, and NWN2 isn't currently on that list.

I don't know why your installer would be rejecting your key.  That's a nice set, though.  Especially the map.

This doesn't surprise me. I decided to do a re-install a few months back because although I'd been happily playing from a backup copy of my original game I couldn't get MoW to work with it.

I started installing and the game wouldn't accept my genuine keys. What I had to do was find a cracked key on the internet, which I then used to install MotB and SoZ as well. I then manually replaced the keys with my genuine ones - I need to because I MP on PWs and without my keys I wouldn't be recognised. For SP though you can probably ignore that step.
