To quote Mr.Plinkett: WTF was that!?...

I just hope they don't follow the Ubisoft template for open world games.

For all of you posting

"I dont know why they even used a mass effect title"

You don't know anything about the plot or anything with the next game so stop pessimistically speculating on absolutely no info what so ever.

They screwed up with the last game sure, but nobody's stupid enough to let that happen again especially with the reaction they got from fans. They've stated on twitter that previous choices in the trilogy will still be relevant to some degree which is alls you can expect from a game set quite far in the future from the trilogy. Its also still in the mass effect universe which explains why the title is in use to begin with.

Most of you are still after 2 years still completely butthurt I get that, but for the love of god don't drag everyone else down with you. Most of us are excited for this.

If you wanna sulk and moan still do it on your own time please.

I do agree with that. We still don't know enough about the game for anyone to be complaining that there isn't enough Mass Effect in their Mass Effect. The only thing we know about the game right now is its setting.

I think the new IP complaints are people jumping the gun based solely on having been emotionally invested in the Ark Theory or the leak details not panning out.

new IP is exactly what it felt like

Yepper, they have to start all over again in a new galaxy with new planets and new team members, (which is probably why the Mako returned), and all because the ending of ME3 changed the Milky Way forever.

Andromeda!

Home of the Asari, Turians, Krogans, Quarian and Geth, etc.

You will find the citadel, Omega, mass relays and all the Alien homeworlds we know and love.

It's in the future of Mass Effect Trilogy, a future with the Mako, humans in N7 armor and 20th century western Johnny Cash like music...

I'm SCARED!!

I don't know about you guys, but I didn't get any confirmation on playable council races and a story within the universe we know and love from the previous Trilogy. Am I worrying for nothing? Or is this game going to disappoint me to no end with a boring open world filled with countless fetch quests and a dull generic movie like sound track of no real music...

Bioware! I humbly implore you... Please! Can you give me more answers? You left me with more questions...

Fan since '07 and to be perfectly honest I felt nothing. It's killed all my hope and enthusiasm I had for it. I'm personally no longer bothered about a reveal now, nor particularly care about it being years away any moreso than any other essentially brand new series.

Coming from somebody who wanted a series reboot attaching the Mass Effect label to this feels pretty ominous... feels a new IP born out of compromise with a big publisher weary of risk. Free-riding on established brand name recognition coat-tails can only take you so far and if this tanks it's game over.

I don't mind a new Sci fi IP but why even bother calling it Mass Effect?
Just because of the N7 tag?

They're turning it into an anthology series, with only tenuous links between stories, without understand that Mass Effect was not only about Shephard, it was also about Earth becoming a dominant force in the Milky Way.

Well, so much for that then.

But the FEELS, man! Can't you feel the organic energy?

Tenuous links between the lore too, it seems

not that i care about either of these (im hyped as hell) but if anything this proved the leak and ark theory id still up in the air the ones that seem to be in panic are the ones who didn't want to go to andromada

I've got nothing bad or snotty to say about ME:A's trailer. I'm excited! I like that it's taking place far into the future from ME3. I'm wondering about RGB+Refuse tho'...

The Mako looks like something I would love to get my hands on! (I was never a fan of the original Mako).

"An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day..." Ghostriders in the Sky. Well Ok. Cheesy, but maybe a hint about the character we'll be playing? I dunno.

I'm excited about using virtual 3D side scrolls to choose next destination. <edit: Looks like he's searching for resources without having to travel down to the planet or doing that circular scanning of 1 planet at a time.> Very much improved from the trilogy!

I saw a Shepard move there at the end. The jump attack with the knife out. Felt like Shepard to me... hmmm... <edit: N7 logo has shifted location on the armor. hmmm..>

I think the trailer is good. It doesn't reveal too much but raises so many unknowns.

If I could buy the product today, I'd already be playing. Seriously, how could you NOT love that trailer and be a ME fan?

It's coming back! Not with Shepard...  :(  :crying:

It's coming back! With new crew/protagonist/environments!  :P  :wizard:

It's coming back! With a new Mako!

It's coming back in time for Xmas 2016!  =]

It's coming back with a better game engine!  <3

It's coming back. Period. Not cancelled.  :wizard: That's my biggest joy. I love sci-fi RPG/FPS's. Bioware does this genre like no-one else.

Thanks for posting this thread!!!

edit: I saw a Krogan running with the N7 operative. Should make someone happy.

Was there any choice? OUR CHOICES MATTERED! They said they took our choices seriously.

The stupid reaper plot destroyed the MEU in the Milky Way forever. It was a torch the franchise ending. I told you so. But we wanted more Mass Effect. We couldn't have it in the Milky Way because of the stupid Crucible ending. They couldn't do it without setting one ending canon and ignoring the others. If they did that our choices wouldn't matter. This was the only way to continue the franchise.

Mass Effect is not about the relays.

Mass Effect Andromeda is the best place to start. In fact it is the only place to start!

You can call an oak tree the Queen of Denmark. That doesn't make it so. Most of the compliments and complaints about Mass Effect, about the plot and the endings and everything revolved around Shepard and Shepard's team. No Shepard, no Normandy, no Normandy squad, etc. means it's only tangentially Mass Effect.

Getting people invested in something and then taking it away is a bad marketing move.

Lacked identity, charm and series character - aside from the omni-blade and n7 logo it could have been for any number of generic looking sci-fi games such as Halo 5, Destiny, Gears, Borderlands, etc. Compare it to the Fallout 4 announcement trailer which is a much better example of how to reintroduce a setting and distil the essence of a series and boil it down in a couple of minutes. Nobody will remember this trailer.

Holiday 2016?..........Well that sucks.
Was hoping to see the game in action and some story tidbits. Hell, we won't get anything really until next year's E3. If the game gets delayed, we could be a good 2 years away from the game.

Homie, I've felt the "essence of being a species" since It was passed onto me from a sentient plant in ME1.

The first thing I felt when I saw the trailer was Borderlands with fancy graphics. It might have had to do with the Johnny Cash cover, which was awesome, but it gave that feel to it.
