Maybe Montreal and Edmonton think of different dates, when they talk about release, lol.

This. They gave nothing away and there was nearly nothing to get hyped about... Well, JETPACKS!... (where have I seen those before...
). If they're ripping off ideas from other games ie. Borderlands, Fallout, Halo etc., it kind of shows up the fact that Bioware have indeed ran out of ideas... Anyway, nothing in that trailer got revealed or was proven to not be in the next game, but with it being based in Andromeda, it kind of worries me that they are just going to select the races and lore from the trilogy that suits them and whitewash whatever lore or race doesn't fit in with their new story...
It just seems like a lazy way to explain what happened post-ME3 and the fact that it's MEA and not ME4 kind of reminds me of Gears Judgement... Anyone remember how much that sucked compared to Gears 3? I hope this isn't just a cash grab, but what little info we have seems to be pointing in that direction... Also, no mention of the MP yet...
I think it's going to be hard to have all the species represented and still have room to elaborate on new species as well. As much as it would ****** me off for them to exclude a race it would probably ****** me off more if a character was just glossed over and ignored. You know kind of like a lot of the ME2 crew in ME3 were ignored. That said I didn't get Citadel which people say kind of covered that.
People are going to be upset no matter what because likely even if a species is represented most new characters aren't going to measure up to Tali, Garrus, Liara, etc.
I'm hyped. I may or may not have squealed. I was a little concerned at first by the music choice and feared that there would not be much story if the game is all about exploring and establishing settlements. But as kaxas mentioned, I think the song was really just for this trailer and I anticipate some great mass effect-style instrumentals in the actual game.
I also thought, this is Bioware, and if anything, they know how to tell a story. I know that we will undoubtedly uncover something in the Adromeda system, and I can't wait for them to completely shock us with the twists and turns. I am also positive that the multiplayer will blow our minds (after all, me3 Mp was bioware Montreal's doing and look how well that turned out).
Finally, as Caineghis mentioned.. the sound effects are what caught my attention the most. I agree, Mass effect is in a league of its own. Come on, incorporating the cries of children in Abomination explosions!? So much better than Destiny's thrall explosions. I for one am sold. Then again, I'd buy MEA even if it tanked...

For U.S.A.-ian based companies, 'holiday' means Christmas. Period.
EA is, of course, U.S.A.-ian.
Actually, this doesn't make me hyped at all not because it just lacks quarians. More rule of cool omniblade crap, and now some idiotic jetpacks. If they include some Titanfall esque running and jumping parkourshit into the gameplay, so help me Ancestors I will sh!t brix and ragequit faster than I would a lobby with 3 venom snapfreeze spammers.

Eh, I think a little bit of that wouldn't be a bad thing. More like being able to reach places/things via jetpacks or whatever. Not full on wall running though. Yeah, that can stay out.
But having something that allows you to deviate from the linear pathing..that would be cool. This game could use some terrain options besides getting stuck to every ****** wall via the O.B.T.R.T.A. Tell me you never wished you could hop onto a large crate or something to get that perfect angle? ![]()
not hyped.
E3 guys, you will be lucky to get some gameplay, and not vertical slice prerendered crap supposedly in-engine.
this is biowEAr we are talking about.
saving my hype for xcom 2 and FALLOUT 4, YEAH
Quarians will be included IMO. I think we see most of the main races from the trilogy represented. Krogans, salarian, turians, asari, quarians, possibly drell. Fringe races like elcor, volus, vorcha, etc probably don't make it.
To tell the truth....I'll be quite disappointed if they stick to ONLY the exsiting races (as of ME3) as the primary characters.
Nothing wrong with "visits" from the usual suspect races for nostalgia. Nevertheless, it is supposed to be a whole NEW galaxy FFS.
This will indeed be merely ME4, IMHO, if they don't introduce a host of new races, not ME-A as they advertise.
And whilst I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt...most of the early BW staff and founders are gone, EA bought Bioware (they gave us thermal clips in ME2). and hey..Dragon Age: Inquisition.
I think I'll hold my pre-order..for now.
The negativity in this thread is killing my buzz.
Yeah, it might be a cash grab and suck, but we know so little about it at this point. I'm reserving judgement.
I agree and feel the same way. But, I've seen it with so many other EA and non-EA "games".
I would go insofar as to say I am even LESS than cautiously optimistic.
But, I really hope I am proven wrong.
For some reason, I was really much more excited when I saw this when it broke....but hey each to his/her own.

Quarians make sense since they were always out at the fringe of the existing galaxy. Geth would be the same.
The others, I wouldn't think so:
Krogan, not enough of them.
Drell, same but even less.
Salarians, not sure if they have the life span to travel to an entirely new galaxy (If FTL and the relays are still the main concept).
Asari. Perhaps, due to long life span and dat azz.
Turians. Again maybe, since they were the strongest from a military perspective.
I agree with you on the others. Elcor, Hanar, Volus, Vorcha should be gone. Maybe Vorcha stowing away like bilge rats.

krogan are already all but confirmed as a squadmate. There's one in the trailer even.

My opinion is even though ME3SP pissed me off Bioware still saved the ship with the multiplayer. That's three great games that they've put out. I'll give them my money and hope they deliver, they've earned my loyalty to this point. EA has also had a change in management, they can still blow me for the most part but I'll hope that they learn from their past screw ups and let BW do their thing.

Looking at the trailer, it seems as though they no longer need the relays. This especially makes sense since we're in a new galaxy that wouldn't have the relays, and we need to get around somehow.
Krogan/Quarians are going to be a weird one if they aren't going to make certain choices in ME3 canon, since you can effectively wipe both of them out.
To clear up a little misunderstanding: Andromeda is the name of the stripper protagonist of the next Mass Effect.
When they say that it takes place in Andromeda, well...
Rated M.

Perhaps the launch of this Mass Effect Ark proceeded those decisions? Perhaps this was even part of the deal behind the scenes to get those races to assist in the Reaper war? A chance at a future if things didn't go as planned.

fear not if you still wish to headbutt things

Agreed, but it is a little ambiguous at the moment. Let's see what they do.
I guess Geth would fall into the same category then with Krogan and Quarians.

You actually fell for what the Army recruiter promised....didn't you?

And to be honest, ME3SP was great up until the ending. Yea, it had certain annoyances, but it was pretty good.
I was originally very down on the MP. Even questioned why it was added. But I was 100% wrong there.
...except for the store. **** the guy that thought that up.

I loved Wrex....but this disappoints me a bit.

He surely never told me the violations that awaited me at MEPS.
I'm really interested in the multiplayer. Horde mode or dungeon crawl? Or maybe even PVP?

You mean you didn't enjoy the "bend over and spread 'em"?
And WTF did they always have Marines watching you during the p*ss test? There's gotta be a joke in there somewhere. C'mon Nuke don't let me down.

All of the above hopefully. Plants vs Zombies has some of that and that game definitely borrowed a lot of elements from ME. PvP would likely be a more generic pool of powers though if they did it.
