Dear BioWare,

Please no stupid fetch quests like in DA: Inquisition.

Thank you!

I'm getting this awful feeling that this is going to be a shared online experience with MMO type fetch quests.

You mean like in all the fall outs and planescape torment and the witcher and almost every game ever made?  (I can understand the dislike for 'fetch' quests but almost all games have them and they are not particular to any specific game.

DA:I feels like you're playing a MMO all by yourself. Grinding, grinding, grinding... Some other games do it better. Witcher, sure. But also Mass Effect in general. Just DA:I went way too far with the mindless fetching. So let's hope they don't copy it in this game.

So, that would make this the first cRPG in existence without "stupid fetch quests".

If I were you, I wouldn't pre-order.

I REALLY hope they go with the Witcher 3 route and give unique characters, cutscenes and story to every side quest.

Agreed DA:I was terrible in that regard, it seems like they are taking their time with this so I hope we get good side missions (like in TW3 not the **** that we got in DA:I)

No fetch quests please. I don't need the game padded pointlessly. There is no excuse but laziness. You guys have the budget and the man power. If CD PROJEKT RED can deliver a game with half the budget and man power, then you have 0 excuse. Also cut scenes for everything! Make our interactions personable. This is next gen!

If there's a resource system in the game there's a good chance you're going to have the opportunity to do pretty basic missions or tasks in order to accumulate them.

These quests, or fetch quests as you like to generalize them, are and forever will be completely optional as they have always been.

Like honestly, people here already overblow how much time they spent on DAI "fetch quests" considering they spent 90% of the time during those quests actually exploring and killing enemies on the path to the locations. They didn't have a problem with fetch quests. They had a problem with exploration, which is totally fine but kinda idiotic to complain about since the game itself is advertised as an exploration-driven game.

So as long as you suppress that compulsive perfectionist desire to explore every square inch of the map and complete every task on the way in an ironic display of gameplay that runs counter to actually role playing your character, you'll be fine.

We'll probably get some... Afterall, even Skyrim had Fetch Quests (for the thieves guild) so I guess we'll have to hope for a DAO styled landscape than.

They are inevitable. Just give us a good way to skip them and focus on the core game.

There will be 'fetch' quests.

You will also have to explore and shoot things.

The trick is that they are sufficiently interesting.

Which type of fetch quest is worse?

1. A random npc asks you to go find her 2 bundles of quarian-root and a potassium deposit.

2. You overhear a random npc wondering where a potassium deposit is.

I prefer finding a pair of pants and knowing to whom they belong.

If it is, I'll save some money and pass.  I don't think they will combine the single player and on line versions.  It was done accidentally (?) in ME3 and they fixed it.  Prior to that I know NWN and some of the others had on line options but they were totally separate, as it should be.  :)

I like to have quest like finding Lord Woolsley. A resident of whatever planet asks to have his/her pet, whatever animal species is on that planet, found and returned. Ryder agrees. Hops in the mako racing around looking for the pet. When found and returned, the player receives 5 experience points and 100 credits.
