I actually hope it's "nature" - in the sense that these explorer, colonials, whatever... are going to have to survive and flourish and THAT is the story. 

 

There is, of course, the problem with an entire new galaxy being populated by other sentients (but my thought is that the Reapers just got done flushing the Andromeda galaxy before turning an eye to the Milky Way - so we'll run in to devastated civs)

Maybe the reaper threat extended to other galaxies as well..  I thought I heard something that could have sounded like a reaper...

It actually looks very similar to Promethean technology (From HALO Lore) But.... I'd say.... Probably a Leviathan thrall.

It is not at all impossible for them to have traversed dark space to other galaxies, and run their 'experiments' there as well. And since they guide all advanced civilizations along the paths they desire (by allowing them to find and use the same technology, same way humanity discovered Prothean tech, and Protheans discovered Inusannon tech, and so forth), which explains why everything is so similar to our galaxy.

 

As for the N7 logo, I have no explanation

Well leaks spoke about some new race called "khet". Tough they might just be generic filler villains like batarians.

Could be the Leviathans, they say they are the apex species and don't care about other races.

They are the reason why the reapers exist too, they may be up to something new now that the reapers are out of the way.

I agree with the nature comment.

Think about trying to survive a world with a harsh environment. Driving ur mako through a lush forest, devastated city, or a monster infested world; and then having to fight off enemies before getting to ur ship safely.

Not sure if the reapers will even be mentioned though

The sound effect is actually Geth-ish to me (or just Synthetic life form I guess) and it played when the towers rose up from the ground. Towers that looks like Geth's comm towers might I add.
