LOL, your double-standards knows no bounds. ME:A will have a different protagonist as well. Just accept reality and move on.
It isn't ME:A has more in common with a new IP than a ME game since a lot of the established lore and setting being thrown away to the point it might as well not exist in the first place.
Iakus said it best
It's like saying the next Dragon Age won't be set in Thedas, when there's so much more of the continet to see.

Bioware doesn't release any solid info and here you complain that its a new ip and not ME. Seriously, if you are not interested in this game leave or move on to another product of your liking.
Just like saying that abandoning Ferelden for Tevinter will make all of your choices in DAI moot as well.

From what was seen in the trailer if the N7 logo was removed it could have easily been taken for another IP and from what was seen so far nothing wrong with being skeptical about it.

But complaining about the same thing and saying that moving on to the another galaxy will make your decisions in MW moot is entirely wrong.

Moving to another galaxy does make choices moot since it'll gives the illusion of choices mattering, it'll like the rachni and CB they were suppose to have big consequences but in the end they were moot.

All of the choices you make in RPGs are illusions but retconning the choices you make in the game is much worse since it results to contrivances and inconsistency that both ME and DA franchise have.

I fail to see how ignoring all of them as if they never happened is much better in fact its worse.

So playing contrived, inconsistent games like DA and ME series is much better than leaving MW then. What an insane troll logic is that?

Or they could take a page from CDPR when they made the witcher 3 and have 4-5 choices from the witcher 2 made canon (its not ideal) and go forward from there.

The problem is that ME's lore is too contrived compared to TW3. Canonizing an ending will only hurt the franchise than fix it since it will cause more inconsistency unless they will make a hard reboot. SO DEAL WITH IT. Leaving the Milky Way is the best solution. ![]()

Except throwing away a lot for what made ME unique in the first place isn't the best best solution.

But the only thing they have done, is leave the endings alone. You still have it set in the same universe, that video you are basing all this on still shows Mass Effect like technology including the armor the human character was using and the weapon said character was wielding (Gun and Omni blade). People have already slowed the video down to show that silhoutes of a Krogan and a Human/Asari female are in fact visible. Heck we also see a Mass Effect style haptic interface, a GUI that seems similar to the one used in Lair of the Shadow Broker to view hidden camera clips. So in that one short video we see a lot of things that establish the game is in the same universe as the previous ones, showing they haven't thrown it all away despite your continued repetition of that argument.
All they did do was let Player choice stand and avoid retconing the ending. If you don't like that, fine, but let's not pretend they've abandoned the Mass Effect series or made the past games pointless because you want them to continue a storyline they ended.

In TW3 you are playing the final game in a trilogy. In ME:A you are playing the first game in a new storyline. So Apples and Oranges.

Or heck canonize stuff that could never happen in the trilogy. That way there are no charges of favoritism

Why? It's true. Take away the N7 logo and you've got a completely different IP.

Not if it looks and feels like mass effect, you don't. And we have yet to see if it does or doesn't.

Sure doesn't look like Mass Effect.
And if the player character leaps about like Spider-Man in a Master Chief outfit, I doubt it will feel like it either. And given we haven't even been told what the frak we're doing in Andromeda or how we got there, I'm rather pessimistic on that front as well.

Again, for those who care to listen. Jump Jets were used by Cerberus, and main character's been able to shoot around the battlefield ever since Mass Effect two gave Vanguard the Charge ability. Leaping into the air is not outside anything already established in the universe.

You're drawing an awful lot of conclusions from a trailer with no gameplay in it.

It's a teaser for the game. Aren't we supposed to draw conclusions from it?
