Hudson is gone but Walters is the director.
For this reason alone, I will remain somewhat weary. Regardless of how awesome things look.

Will there be implemented a dock, as in the first part? The idea was interesting compared to teleportation in the 2nd and 3rd part of the game.

Yep. I'm incredibly glad it's been confirmed we're human-only.
I like to think folks around here know me well enough to understand that I would love to see all of us satisfied on everything. But the fact is, that's never gonna happen, and this was a really big deal for me. So... sorry to those who are bummed, but frankly I would have been just as bummed if multiple races were confirmed.
Absolutely. Resources can either be spent making all kinds of gimmicks (different species, all the different voice actors required) or in making a big, expansive story. I prefer a story to gimmick. I prefer big universe to tiny with lots of ways to look like in that tiny universe.

So...dual wielding pistols and sub machine guns. Nay or yay?
Big NAY. No one wields two and hits anything except by accident. It's a silly action movie trope. Don't go there.

Bioware will use this playthrough for "canon". Excellent.
As much I don't like that ending, I would see how well its implemented into the game before I decide to get the game or not
No. Synthesis would essentially make them all immortal and omnipotent, unkillable, un-out-thinkable, inhuman.

Please make Andromeda more a RPG than a action game. I want my stats to be affected by where i allocate points, I want those stats to actually mean something in the game world. I want a armory with different weapons that im either proficient with or not because on what class I play, and or what skills I learn. I want more than 8 powers for the class that's suppose to specialize in unconventional warfare, ie the Adept has 26 different powers, some that scale higher than others, some that are direct damage, some that aren't, some that alter the environment, some that alter me status or my teammates status if the Asari can use their biotics for just about everything, then why can't I? Put some thought back into the game, not just a near rail shooter mindless shoot'em up.
I expect the story to be interesting, doesn't have to be great, nor do I expect the science to be sound by Neil Degrasse Tyson standards as this is still sci-fantasy, but don't hand wave everything with no attempt at an explanation.
Memorable characters that aren't headcases, or stereotypes, who have as much thought and care woven into their stories as the game's overall plot would be nice too.
Please no. There's no such thing as people who cannot use an assault rifle just because they are an engineer. There's no such thing as a soldier who cannot use a shotgun or sniper rifle just because they are a soldier. Everyone being intelligent humans can learn to use ANY weapon with proficiency (ANYONE can use a handgun) . You may get away with making you pick a few at the beginning to be proficient in and maybe make it costly to change proficiency but NOT bizarrely locking you out of a weapon just because of a "class". No need to stick with ancient RPG game tropes that have no connection to reality in any way, shape, or form.

There is ONE thing I do insist on in the ME:A. The protagonist MUST always end conversations with, "I should go".
Beyond that, how about destroyable environment? No more crates immune to rocket or bullet (and unscathed after a battle).

Which, like their argument for why they were doing it (We synthetics need to kill you all so your own synthetics wont do it...even though your synthetics are friends with you (the geth) or lovers (EDI)) was crapola.

A destructive dynamic environment sounds great to me. Would add more fun to things, and also give weight to your attacks. Imagine being able to do a biotic charge through a wall.
You also wouldn't be able to hide behind a packing crate because it would stop all projectiles or beams...or be of infinite weight since even a huge mech can't move them.

I also hope this game dispenses with another RPG trope of looting everything and everybody (including friends, allies, innocent victims). Was pretty bizarre in ME2 to enter a dead batarian's apartment (from the plague on Omega) and loot them...or in ME3 while fighting on the moon over Palaven for/with your Turian allies you are also looting them.
1. Military operations supply their troops weapons and ammo. Only under the most dire/desperate situations would soldiers drop their weapons and start using fallen enemy weapons and ammo. Your own logistics group provides you with ammo before a mission and keeps you supplied DURING the mission.
2. Usable ammo isn't just left here and there anywhere. How many locker rooms or offices or schools or hospitals or ruins have you entered only to find usable munitions laying all over, handy to pick up and use?
These are RPG tropes that are better left in the past.

And yell at some other guys for looting.

While anyone can learn to use any gun, not everyone does. I was pistol shooting at a range with a group and outshot Marines because, while they were excellent rifle marksmen, they were not used to firing pistols. Now you can argue that they should allow you to put points in any gun and learn it, but that depends on how far you want "ability points" or whatever, to take you.

As an officer I was lucky. I got trained in rifle and pistol with emphasis on pistol. If I wanted I could have gotten training in more because I was friendly with the trainers.

NatureGuy85, sure but they could still use pistols and, with a little practice, get good at it. My only complaint was weapon lockout. You couldn't give yourself certain weapons because they were greyed out and that was entirely based on class. I only ever played as infiltrator or soldier because they weren't as severely lunited in weapon choice. In ME1 you could equip players with any weapon and tips just hey a warning that they weren't proficient. Just take that a step further and allow you to get them proficient via points or credits in any weapon you equip them with.

True, in ME1 you at least had it and could pull it out if you needed it for some reason. But in my example, those guys didn't carry pistols, as far as I know.

They would be issued their rifle. If they wanted a pistol they had to bring their own (some did).
I would be issued a pistol but I preferred my own.

First post here, fell in love with mass effect from the beginning. Excited to see a whole new galaxy and story, but I'm most excited about all the new characters we will get to meet.
Although I'm very upset about not getting to interact more with miranda, they did her dirty in ME3, luckily the citadel dlc exists.

From the BioWare blog
Today we debuted the first cinematic trailer for our next game, Mass Effect™: Andromeda. While we are still many months away from the game’s release date in holiday 2016, we’re excited to show you a bit of where we’re at. First, though, some background on the game itself.
When we wrapped up the original Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 3: Citadel in early 2013, planning and design on Mass Effect: Andromeda was already well underway. We knew we wanted to start with a foundation composed of the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action. At the same time, we clearly wanted to expand the definition of what you should expect from a Mass Effect game.
While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.
We built this trailer in Frostbite™, our game engine, and it represents our visual target for the final game. We are thrilled by what we’ve already been able to achieve in bringing Mass Effect to Frostbite and by putting our entire focus on PC and current gen consoles. With the time remaining in development, we’re excited about the possibility to push things even more.
Thank you again for all of the support you keep showing us, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details with you near the end of the year. Until then, the teams in our Montreal, Edmonton, and Austin studios will be hard at work creating an entirely new adventure for you to lose yourselves in.
Thanks,
Aaryn Flynn, Studio General Manager, BioWare Canada
Yanick Roy, Studio Director, BioWare Montreal
Excellent. Thank you.

This "Mass Effect" game is only one in name.
You didn't even see any gameplay and you are condemning it? Sure it doesn't look like a ME game but im sure that we will be provided with a exceptional game with new elements and im really excited about that.

I'm excited for it. I'm pretty worried about all this talk of 'exploration' and size, though. God knows I've played enough open world games with tons of scale and not enough substance. I want a great story and fun gameplay, not 10 hours of good content stretch across x amount of kilometres so most of the playtime is artificially lengthened by travelling from one place to another.
Also, I've had enough of massive game worlds full of 'stuff', by which I mean 'collect x amount of [resource] so some money' or 'collect all 3,500 shards of whatever to unlock a slightly better gun'.
Basically, I loved the more linear feel of ME 2 and 3 (you know, where all the gameplay was fun and worthwhile, and the story had good pacing) and I don't want it to be ruined by gaming's current obsession with open worlds. If I see a post boasting about how large the game world in MEA is, alarm bells are going to ring.

I must say this is a horrible disappointment when their squandering the getting out of Shepard's shadow potential this game was meant to give by saying you can still only be human.
Also how the class system will work seems odd since if we really have taken such a time jump it seems likely humanity should have figured out a way to make everybody universally biotic.
