Me too but I wouldn't get my hopes up for the game. Thanks for quoting this, it's really interesting, I mean, to know better how a company works and products a video game. I'm always really curious to learn more about the process.
E3, not necessarily, it seems EA has its own convention this year... let me ask google again, ah yes, June 12th to June 14th (when E3 is June 14th to June 16h if I remember correctly).
Well anyways, June will be an interesting month

They were on something more heavy with those endings. The lead writer most certainly is the reason for writing mistakes. Especially when he and Casey Hudson locked themselves in a room with the ending and a joint.
E3 in a few months hopefully something interesting. I expect another trailer focus on the story a little more and gameplay.
If game is delayed probably no gameplay into N7 day.

Me too but I wouldn't get my hopes up for the game.
Stay positive
Travelling around Andromeda with plenty of new planets to explore is already making me dream
I just cross my fingers for the story and for the characters we will meet.
At the EA convention I really wish to see the squadmates and maybe more artworks about the game (like backgrounds, mecha ...).
Wait and see.
BTW do you think we will have a demo to play ? I don't know if Bioware released one for the previous ME games.

It's their storytelling I'm worried about saving humanity by finding a new home on another galaxy, I want to give BW the benefit of the doubt I really do. But they keep on repeating tropes and reducing to cliché plots it's like they don't put creativity and imagination to their lore. And IDK that they'll release a demo but I think they will.Stay positive

Well... The lead writer ensures that everything is consistent but as the project starts to ramp up, he loses his "writing role". We don't know who wrotes the ending part. Patrick Weekes said it was Walters (and Hudson) but I honestly don't believe him, as the writing process didn't change that much from 2008, is similar to other studios' workflow, and the LW has a similar role in almost every game company. They probably did the "review" process however (or at least a part of it), just like the rest of the writing team...
From BioWare 2008 GDC conf' :
The lead writer obviously didn't personally write everything, but they have to approve everything, no? While he may not handle the details, he would set the direction and give an outline. He would be involved in major decisions such as the existence of the Catalyst and what the ultimate conflict would be.

He reports to other Leads (mainly the Lead Designers), then everything goes up to the directors, producers, etc. Even if he handles the details (about the Catalyst,...), he's merely doing his job accordingly to what's been decided upstairs, too. But usually, it's more a collaboration than "follow my orders" thing. But no writer can say that he didn't took part in the review process, the story, etc. Even if your "only" job was to write everything about Garrus, you still know what happens in the end. So, Walters has a certain part of responsibility, the other writers too.

Not really. In politics or similar, yes, LOTS of people can be wrong. Paying customers cannot be because it affects their willingness to pay in the future. Their collective opinion matters more than any version of objective reality (whatever that means in this context).
To a business, 100000 CANNOT be wrong. Ever.
Just two cents and, no, I do not want to get this thing to continue ad infinitum.
Lol the ending again. What is this thread about just general talk?
Hope for the Hanar to be in this game heavy and not be a joke race. They have a beautiful culture.

This forum is becoming downright depressing...
Any thread that proceeds long enough without core input from the devs will inevitably degenerate into an argument over ME3 endings, underwear vs proper nude depiction, or tropes. It's a law.

It can if you have 300,000 think the opposite. A large number of people thinking an idea might mean that idea is worth an in-depth look, but doesn't make it correct.

Don't worry too much, I think they just finished their jobs on MEA and are now working on different projects, that's all.
The only question I'm asking myself about all those retirements is if MEA will finally be just one game, not a new trilogy. I mean, if MEA is a new trilogy they should all have stayed to work on it, right ? anyways, they still can come back later, I suppose.
Communication about how much the game is done would be really nice, I agree.

I hope you're right about learning, but their latest games show a problematic trend. ME2, ME3, and DA2 were big steps down from the preceding games in their respective series, at least as far as the writing. I haven't played Inquisition but the mixed reviews don't speak well to that trend.
Yep remember to peer review those endings.
Don't agree that me2 was step down though.

ME 2 was the best game in the whole series. The writing most certainly was. The main plot was garbage. The characters and their loyalty missions were great though.

ME2 is my favorite of the 3 games. My biggest issue with the game is the number of squadmates and that all of them, including crewmembers, can live or die

P.S. I love this game.

good. This looks awesome but I can't stop laughing at the near-comically sexual nature of the female character's pose in that image.
Those hips.
Surprised she isn't wearing a Miranda style catsuit, with the male character looking down at her arse.

As HUGE fan of the ME series can I just say.................AWESOME!!!!
Lol ok with that out of the way I do have a couple questions.
First will this be on PC or only PS4 or XBOX one?
Second when you say Holidays 2016 what do you actually mean?
Christmas? Easter? April FOOLS?

The main plot is always garbage. ME2 at least seemed to appreciate that the main plot was an obstacle to overcome with great character vignettes, and then the nonsensical plot was topped of by the best end-game quest ever, i.e., the SM.

Why is that they can die a bad thing?

That's not true. The writers of ME2 though their plot was great. A whole different level of craft went into the character stories.
I still like ME1's plot and what it set up for the future. ![]()
