Why is that they can die a bad thing?
Created a nightmare for ME3. ME3 has amazing reactivity for your earlier choices...problem was a lot of it went into trying to cover the story roles of everyone who could be dead.

That's not true. The writers of ME2 though their plot was great. A whole different level of craft went into the character stories.
I still like ME1's plot and what it set up for the future.
ME1, unlike ME2, was a pretty modular story. About the only loose end it left open, or rather that it explored with any depth, was the reapers. Not even the genophage or even the geth got that sort of treatment until ME2. Then, ME2 came and blew everybody's mind because all of sudden they knew that they were gonna make ME3, so they could explore these concepts about genophage, about the geth.

There's some truth to that but I wish they hadn't changed what we were told about both.

I suppose. I really like Padok Wiks though and Dagg is pretty good.
I just fear that this opus will not consider the other races of the Milky Way galaxy. Especially, I hope that we will be able to have quarians, thurians, asari, krogans, galarians, butarians or other drells characters etc.
In the previous opus of the series, humanity gained its place on the concil of the galaxy. Yes ME3 came here and put an havoc on almost everything inside the galaxy but it doesn't mean all members of other races just were killed were humans didn't. That is just unconceivable.

It seems a Krogan was already confirmed as a squadmate (his name is Drax, if I remember correctly, something like that, but this info still need to be confirmed, nothing official), so I'm sure the other Milky Way's species will be present. I would also be very disappointed to not see Turians, Korgans, Salarians etc. around...

I can do without Vorcha and Drell. Neither were very interesting, and you saw 3 of the latter.

I like Drell a lot, I don't mind to have them with us on the ship.
But I agree for Vorcha, I won't miss them (and I'm not sure they will add anything interesting to the story).
Personal tatse only : the species I absolutly want to have on MEA are the 3 I named : Turian, Krogan, Salarian. I will feel so lonely without them !
(I'm sure many fans would also love to have quarian or asari).

How can you like Drell a lot? All we know about them is they are often assassins for Hanar. We've met 3. I don't see how we have enough info on them to like or dislike them.
Personally I want all 5 of those and would like the Elcor and Volus too. I think they're pretty fun. We didn't see much of the Hanar, but their way of speaking was interesting.

Drell : I like their background story (what Thane explains, also codex informations), design, and I just want to hear more about them, that's all ~ They have a nice potential.
We don't see many Elcor, even worse for Hanar, but you seem to appreciate them more than I do
I could return you the question.
Everything is just a question of personal taste ![]()

Ok, that's cool. If they are just intriguing, that makes more sense.
Fair question. All I said about the Hanar is that I like their way of speaking. As for the Elcor, we saw more than 3 of them for starters. They were established in the first game, were around the hub worlds, and even on ads in the background (Elcor Hamlet). They were established more as part of the universe.

I agree and tend to like a lot of the alternate characters and their roles in ME3. But I also think they could have done the Suicide Mission at the end of ME3 instead of 2 and saved a lot of resources for ME3 that could have been used for other things, like a more fleshed out Priority Earth.
Anyway, hindsight and all. Despite my ponderings I'm largely satisfied with how ME3 turned out.

I don't think it had to be one or the other. It would have been awesome to have a more advanced, detailed, and in-depth version of the Suicide Mission for the end of the game.
No, seriously we need to talk about how Mass Effect have evolved, I'm talking about the fight system, in particular about AI, and more precisely about How the Game in ME3 CHEAT !
If you play ME:1 enemies are coherent, you can recognize a type of enemy and you'll know how much strong they are.
in ME:2 this system start to be messed up, so some time, in particular in some critical zone (like bosses) they become extremely tough without no reason.
in ME:3 this system explode and the whole game become messed up.
take for example the last scene of Omega battle when you have to break the trap and free Aria. The game start spawning cerberus soldier like a rain drops, plus some "corrupted" (the monster), corrupted which before that level can be killed with 5/6 bullet in head and but now an entire loader ins't enough !
I'm talking about NORMAL difficulty, but coming from ME:1 I really saw this difference, and by comparing ME:1 with ME:3 the sensation was that, the level designer haved a very lack of abilities, so to increase the difficulty and push the pressure on the player, he made this Sh**.
Me:1 was much more fun.
And I really really #REALLY hope that you understand what's fun and what is very irritating.
'Cause you can be the most crappy dangerous creature of the galaxy but 10 bullet in head should kill you ![]()

What if it's brain is in it's butt?
10 bullets anywhere should kill you.

That's silly. Real people survive that, let alone fantastical creatures. Also remember that ME "bullets" are small shards of metal going so fast that they'd just pass through your body. They aren't today's bullets that are designed to expand or explode inside the target to tear it up.

Not easily, not often (and it depends on where you get hit) and certainly not without immediate medical attention.

True, but it happens so it's not that ridiculous for fiction with monsters and aliens and magic goop that heals wounds.
I don't care if you got shot in both legs twice, both arms twice, and two in the torso. You would likely die of exsanguination than you would unless you were actually in hospital. And even if you were, I'm not sure if they could save you.

I think they have magic space armour that basically seals wounds.

Modern combat hard-suits have a "triple canopy" of protection: shields, armor, and self-repair. The outermost layer is created through kinetic barrier emitters, which detect objects incoming at a high rate of speed and generate deflecting "shields" provided they have enough energy in their power cells.
If a bullet or other incoming object gets past the barrier, it contends with the more traditional body armor. A sealed suit of non-porous ballistic cloth provides kinetic and environmental protection, reinforced by lightweight composite ceramic plates in areas that either don't need to flex or require additional coverage, such as the chest and head. When the armor is hit by directed energy weapons, the plates boil away or ablate rather than burning the wearer.
The last level of protection is provided by the suit's microframe computers, whose input detectors are woven throughout the fabric. These manage the self-healing system, which finds rents in the fabric and, assuming any such tear would wound the flesh underneath, seals the area off with sterile, non-conductive medi-gel. This stanches minor wounds and plugs holes in the suit that could prove fatal in vacuum or toxic environments. Soldiers are not always fond of the "squish skin" that oozes gel on them at a moment's notice, but fatalities have dropped sharply since the system was implemented.

It doesn't have to be one or the other provided a longer dev cycle, but considering the time allotted to them, it very obviously turned out to be one or another.
