If all endings result in the same type of human, asari, krogan etc. characters, then the effects of synthesis are either negligible, which contradicts what occurs in the epilogue of that ending totally, or inevitable.

 

It would be wiser to start Andromeda between the ending of ME2 and before the ending of ME3. That way the ending would have never happened and would give a reason as to why they would need an Ark to send to another galaxy, otherwise it just seems kind of weird to go to another galaxy to colonize it for the sake of doing so.

The Reapers aren't the first threat to the galaxy that might merit a "just in case" colonization effort.
