Why are there humans in the Andromeda Galaxy? Or is this game taking place many years after Mass Effect 3 and it's at the point where they've discovered how to travel to another galaxy.

I think I read somewhere that the story is "humans travel far away to find a new place to settle."

Yeah I always wanted something similar. One of my old suggestions was to play as a discovery team going through a new realay.

 

This is almost that, but on a grander scale xD

Especially seeing as how races in DA:I barely mattered I would rather they focus their resources on a human only protag

We play as humans in almost every other game. The races of Mass Effect are interesting. I'd rather play as them. 

 

They better not use those resources to make them not our character like they did with Shepard.

BW has yet to confirm that we will ONLY be able to play as human.   im hoping BW is gonna keep some secrets till release...then say now you can play a asari, turian, Krogan...and so on. would make me very happy!

Nope. Bioware once again did not listen to the community. And the Mako being back is another downside...

Would have liked the chance to play as a Turian - apparently they didn't learn much from the restricted background outcry in DA2

There are quite a few replies i'd like to type...but imma stick with that was uncalled for.

 

Ive been around long enough to not jump to any conclusions based off of info that DOESNT exist. Only thing it says is that WE WILL PLAY AS HUMAN. It doesnt say WE WILL NOT PLAY AS OTHER RACES or ONLY PLAY AS HUMAN.  so imma wait till it is NO IFs ANDs or MAYBEs.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was originally advertised as being human protagonist only but thankfully they added the other races when the development time was extended. hopefully something similar will happen with ME:A

Aside from playing only as human, which I don't mind (Shepard WAS a human after all) what happens to the existing lore? (I realise nobody knows btw) I loved the Quarians, the Asari, the Elcor with their monotone voice, the fast talking Salarians etc... I liked how colourful the races were, they were what made the Mass Effect universe. 

 

It's very early to say what it will be like, but I hope that no all that is left of Mass Effect is the N7 armour, and weapons in the new game.

 

Mass Effect wasn't just about humans.

I don't see it. N7 is a designation from the human military. It isn't, for instance, a Spectre designation
