So we got a 2 minute cinematic trailer and a name for the game after 2 years of teasing. Still no good details on the game, but I'm really disappointed and not hopeful.

If you haven't read the Bioware blog, it basically says this takes place far away from and long after ME3 and is a completely new thing. I don't know about anyone else, but this is what gets me - I wanted to play games in the same universe that's already been built not a brand new one. I'm all for travelling to and exploring new galaxies, but I'm not a fan of getting rid of what we already had (call me nostalgic, I don't even care).

Mass Effect is by far my favourite franchise in media, but I'm really just not interested. They gave us concept art last year, they gave us a barebones trailer this year and we're not going to get anything substantial until next year. Add to that the concept is basically throwing away everything I loved about Mass Effect, and my interest in one of my favourite things has pretty much been lost completely. Thanks Bioware :)

The only thing that really made me smile in that trailer was I saw a krogan for about a second, and it wasn't one of those horrible mutated things that we saw last year.

I wasn't that impressed with the trailer.  Maybe at the next E3, I will be impressed

Don't blame you it looks like a new IP rather than a ME game.

Think about how wildly divergent all the possible world states are in Mass Effect 3. I understand why Bioware made the new game take place in a different Galaxy. That way no one's toes will be stepped on.

I think people had surprisingly high expectations of what they were going to show in this E3, having in mind it was a pretty known fact that Andromeda wasn't going to be released until very much the end of the next year.

All the possible world states? You visited, what,a dozen+ of planets in all 3 games.

Galaxy has millions of stars, even if 10% of those have planets you did not see 1% of Milky Way. It is a cheap excuse.

Agree with that. I think that this was the realistic option. That or choosing a specific ending as their canon.

@DextroDNA:  My guess is that these explorers were just getting to the Andromeda galaxy during the events of ME and then obviously became cut off - or perhaps they're refugees from a devastated Milky Way.

I'm glad I won't have to deal with a Cult of Shepard.. and I'm certainly looking forward to playing a game where I'm not simply meeting my previous characters friends.

what was the point of this in the first place ?

release is late 2016 almost 2017 and lets be honest here

its almost 99% that it will get delayed and pushed into 2017

so honestly i dont see why in the world they would reveal it now

pointless

im actually really mad at this.

That's already too late. The ME3 endings made mincemeat of the toes of most of the fanbase.

"You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later)."

Só the N7 guy was there just so people would still realise that was a Mass Effect game and not a new IP?

Gotta say i am kinda worried they will now jump galaxies everytime they reach a hard choice in the series canon...

Yeah, that quote about the character not being 'yours' didn't exactly instill a ton of confidence.

If I hadn't watched  trailer and was only listening to it I would of assumed that it was  a Fallout 4 teaser. But seeing the N7 logo reminds me of the questionnaire that Bioware had about "what N7 means to you" which is kind of shocking since they said the ME next at that time was not going to have a Shepard 2.0 protagonist but it appears that we will? So it reminds me of Dragon Age in that aspect where they say that the wardens story is over ( as is Shepard's )  and yet there are all types of warden gear you can get from drops or from crafting the gear.

If they hadn't shown anything, there would be complaining. So they give us a teaser even though it's more than a year from completion, and people still complain.

Classic BSN.

I am happy they've showed ANYTHING... I thought the music fit the trailer perfectly..  Makes you think of lawlessness... In a new frontier.

People are upset, E3 isn't over.  BioWare could have a booth in the coming days explaining more about the plot, possibly another trailer...

The news that this game is pretty much gonna have nothing to do with the trilogy has made be decide that I'm not gonna buy it... at least not directly. I'm gonna watch it on YouTube on the channel of TheRadBrad first, and see if there's anything of value to me.

To have what is basicly a new IP would be as if Crystal Dynamics would say: we're not gonna make Tomb Raiders anymore, instead we're gonna make a new IP that is about adventuring and graverobbing. Yeah that's fine... it might even be good: but it's not Tomb Raider. This new IP might be good, but it's not gonna be what I liked about Mass Effect...

The game is ought to be about 1 and half a year in development. To get a trailer at this point is already something I mean how much have we gotten previously this soon? I'm excited that they even showed anything at all! Besides the conference is still going and there might be more or not. So what.

But it is indeed typical forums. Are people just complaining because they can? And yes I'm complaining about the complainers yeah yeah.

And if you're not interested well why are you here? No one is forcing you to watch news about the game nor read them. Don't like it, then why waster your time here.

This trailer is basically the equivalent of DA:I's E3 2013 teaser:

In other words, it's not meant to show or tell you anything you don't already know.

I like the idea of a new adventure in another galaxy. I never cared much for shepard, anyway. Only his companions.

But the trailer was not very interesting. It was a bit dumb and full of annoying michael bay sounds, and it didn't feel one bit like Mass Effect until the familiar theme at the end.

I'm still stoked for the game, though.

I don't want a new galaxy. I fell in love with the ME galaxy and there's so much that we didn't get to see, like Palaven and many other homeworlds. The trailer didn't show anything we didn't know already either. Just that we would be exploring, playing as an N7, and have a Mako.

There was almost nothing Mass Effect about that trailer. If you just take away that frame with the krogan and remove the title, I'm almost willing to bet that you can convince people that it's Halo 5.
