i got to see some new footage that Mass Effect related. In that im happy. I dont WANT them to tell me EVERYTHING over a year before release. they've done it before...and it made the game no better and no worse.  As an official introduction...this was just enough to wet my appetite.  means more NEW to come.

Oh come on, are you serious? You realize you playing a BioWare game, right? These guys are true to their fans and trilogies. Trust me, this isn't the end to what we already know. Trust me. It's just a way to increase your curiosity.

What I like about Mass Effect is still there. BioWare moving away from the complete and utter mess that Shepard's trilogy ended as makes me want Andromeda more.

I'm just afraid they gonna make a DAI but with Guns . Imagine SpaceLand instead of Hinterland . Gather space elfroot and crappy loot . You end up with few armors , and many maps with codex but no cutscene or main story content .

Yes, they were so true to the fans who bought DAI for Xbox 360 and PS3 with Bioware saying they will be fully supported.

As for MEA, they are already throwing a lot of the MEU away. So much for staying true to it.

I liked the E3 ME:A Teaser.

No complaints from me. It's just a teaser, not a trailer.

Think about how wildly divergent all the possible world states are in Mass Effect 3. I understand why Bioware made the new game take place in a different Galaxy. That way no one's toes will be stepped on.

They should have retired the ME franchise, and started something new.

Don't blame you it looks like a new IP rather than a ME game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition in Space perhaps?

I haven't watched the trailer/teaser, and 99% i won't before finishing the game.

But i'm glad to hear about Bioware moving on to something new instead of recycling same old stuff over over again. They could have sold a few trillions of same game over over again like Activision doing with CoD, we both know there is a market for that.

Lesser similarity with ME trilogy is better imo.

PS: I'm one of "minority" that thinks DA:O didn't needed any expansion or sequel in "close" timeline. It messes with player choices, world states in small and big scale. And having different protagonists for each single game... Ah well i shouldn't have started about DA, just... They should have done what they're doing with ME:A right now. Or how Fallouts did.

I think its a bit silly to jump on the  back of MEA after one two minute trailer.

I mean, I get it. People are still cut up about the ME and how it ended including me. Lets face it though, if they had come out and said that they were setting it in the ME original universe then heads would roll.

I'm excited but its on an emotional placeholder. There are a few things that bother me (Like the dude in the ciip not being yours) but it isnt enough for me to make a snap judgement, I shall at least wait until later this year for that

After all, they moved galaxy and time because of the outrage caused by Me3

Understanding it doesn't make us necessarily like it - I would have hoped that they had the balls to do something about the ending (it's still only one horrible ending with different colors for me!), but apparently not (artistic "vision" - well, maybe it's not so wrong that we lock people up who have visions - is a holy cow apparently, even if it's horrible...no wounder so many people like images/drawings which are just ****** ugly and look like a baby had a go at drawing...and they spend tons of cash on those, too -.-)

greetings LAX

ps: Still, I like the idea - I will watch closely (though I don't think I'll pre-order this time around, I've been suckered back in twice now and that's enough (ME3 and DA:I - after the debacle that DA2 was -.-)

So we got a 2 minute cinematic trailer and a name for the game after 2 years of teasing. Still no good details on the game, but I'm really disappointed and not hopeful.

If you haven't read the Bioware blog, it basically says this takes place far away from and long after ME3 and is a completely new thing. I don't know about anyone else, but this is what gets me - I wanted to play games in the same universe that's already been built not a brand new one. I'm all for travelling to and exploring new galaxies, but I'm not a fan of getting rid of what we already had (call me nostalgic, I don't even care).

Mass Effect is by far my favourite franchise in media, but I'm really just not interested. They gave us concept art last year, they gave us a barebones trailer this year and we're not going to get anything substantial until next year. Add to that the concept is basically throwing away everything I loved about Mass Effect, and my interest in one of my favourite things has pretty much been lost completely. Thanks Bioware :)

The only thing that really made me smile in that trailer was I saw a krogan for about a second, and it wasn't one of those horrible mutated things that we saw last year.

This is not the way to show a lack of interest in anything.

There was almost nothing Mass Effect about that trailer. If you just take away that frame with the krogan and remove the title, I'm almost willing to bet that you can convince people that it's Halo 5.

There isn't anything 'Mass Effect' about Mass Effect. It is just Bioware in space.

@DextroDNA:  My guess is that these explorers were just getting to the Andromeda galaxy during the events of ME and then obviously became cut off - or perhaps they're refugees from a devastated Milky Way.

I'm glad I won't have to deal with a Cult of Shepard.. and I'm certainly looking forward to playing a game where I'm not simply meeting my previous characters friends.

Let's say we reach the end of Andromeda... what happens next? it looks like they written themselves into a corner again

                                                                                            <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

Let me take a crack at this.

Our Milky Way galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy are in the same universe. Think of them as islands in the same sea. Also, the Mass Effect IP is still the same . The ME IP is just more than our galaxy. It's about the tech, skills, classes, combat and integration with other intelligent species, friendly ot otherwise.... and the stories woven from the many possibilities from this IP. However, like you, I feel there was no need to move to another galaxy.

Reason for staying in the Milky Way.

The number of stars in out Milky Way galaxy is derived from its mass. "In a typical galaxy, if you measure its mass by looking at the rotation curve, about 90 percent of that is dark matter." and about 3% is estimated to be stars. Depending on the model our Milky Way galaxy ranges from 100-400 billion stars.  A 2009 study estimated the two galaxies (Milky Way and (M31 = Andromeda)) are equal in mass.

Frankly, there is no reason to leave our galaxy if the devs bothered to do a bit of reading regarding globular clusters, before they created the story. Our galaxy has many clusters spherical in shape and each are estimated to have 100K stars. In effect, ME1-3 is easily contained in one of the clusters and to avoid the Reapers, jumping into another cluster is a simple solution. Instead the devs decided to jump 2.5 million light years away to M31.

Bare bones

Don't forget that it's much too early for Bio to say anything more because some aspects of the game are still in flux.... meaning there are minor story arcs that will get cut, scenes deleted etc...

MEA will have the same "feel" as the first three. Wether it's worth buying, however, remains to be determined.

I know trailers aren't really for fans but I felt nothing for the trailer because it contained almost no new information and was cheesy and cliched as hell. I continue to be disappointed with the direction of this series since ME3 but I enjoy the gameplay and that's enough to rekindle a morbid curiosity. There's at least going to be planetary exploration this time and a new Krogan squadmate so I guess I've got everything I need.

I've seen it mentioned a few times that some aren't to happy being in a new galaxy and would prefer to stay in the previous from the ME trilogy. Has me wondering later down the line possibly if there's a want for it if we would get it as a DLC.
