Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the galaxy map screen showed about a dozen other points apart from "Your Location" and "FTL Destination" - and that was just in that one area of the screen.

The survey leak talked about "hundreds of worlds" and we've heard other rumours about procedural generation algorithms in Frostbite that have enabled them to create about a hundred worlds with custom-populated environments, so I think this screen might be evidence towards MEA having many, many planets to land on.

I was absolutely blown by the fantastic graphics, space travel menu, and the Mako(though I dearly hope for a reskin). But the music, people! Whoever placed that song from the (sixties? seventies?) has clearly forgotten that it's Mass Effect: Andromeda, not Mad Men: N7 edition.  Seriously, I checked the audio twice to see if the video wasn't hacked and it wasn't something in my end.

Frankly, the music was completely inappropriate here(ME is a multicultural franchise), and did a huge disservice to the amazing graphics the designers introduced.

I don't think there's much of anything to break down about it. It looks to me like more of a concept trailer.

Just a vague sort of, 'this is approximately what we're doing' kind of thing.

The comments about "hidden information" were jokes.

Not at all, there are at least two squadmates pictured there, an enemy race, probably three or four of the environments, and player combat abilities like the jetpack jump. If I had to guess, the "N7 character who is not the player character" is the multiplayer squadmate that we create to run Strike Team Missions.

If you combine the trailer with a lot of the features mentioned in the leak, we have a substantial idea of some of the game's most important systems.

Maybe. Maybe not. It's too early to say.

Since most ships can travel within a star cluster without relays at FTL speeds, I'm thinking this is just the FTL effect in the Frostbite Engine.

I don't think so, they had to reach Andromeda, which is something even relays couldn't do. They also have to travel around Andromeda. Plus the effect looked more "wormholey" than FTL.

Perhaps ships now have super advanced Relay-like mass effect cores to help them travel around.

In the trailer what they show is FTL, after the N7 click the planet selection the map read "You Location" with a line to "FTL DESTINATION" before engaging.

I'm still kind of hoping at least some of those ideas were shot down in the survey. I mean resource gathering, again? Don't get me wrong, I understand that resources are an integral part of growth and expansion etc., but if I'm going to be an intergalactic badass I would not really feel like harvesting resources.

The lyrics of the song itself are incredibly apt for Mass Effect tho, go look them up.

Since the guy in the trailer is not the protagonist, how are those two squadmates? How is the jetpack jump player's combat ability if N7 guy is not the protagonist?

Combining the trailer with the leak gives you nothing. The leak is not official. Granted, it got some credibility because of the trailer but still, arguing about ME:A based on a leak is counter-productive IMO.

Personally, I hope they dump quite a few features from that leak. Notably Khet outposts, strike team missions, establishing outposts and Remnant vault raids. Those seem more like Far Cry and Destiny than a Mass Effect game.

Even if they didn't get there through ark (and istead some convinient wormhole), you gotta give it to the community for figuring out we would swap galaxies over a year ago lol

Yeah on second thought, they said that it's going to take place over a smaller section of Andromeda rather than the whole galaxy. Perhaps some super relay put them to Andromeda, and they just use FTL to get around the cluster.

Ye, the Helios cluster thingy. Doesn't matter how they got there, if there's no fast-travel system within Andromeda itself it's only natural we would be restricted to small section of the galaxy

It doesn't matter, especially since the music was, um, "borrowed" from a Russian semi-classic. It doesn't fit the culture of Mass Effect, nor the existing soundtrack and melodies.

I hope it's not as grindy as finding twelve elfroot or whatever in DA Inquisition, but I can see them using a system of blueprints and plans for weapon or item upgrades.

(The leak mentioned upgrading a cryo beam attack or modifying your suit's legs to allow jetpack jumps, etc, I'd be happy if that sort of customisation was the extent of the stuff we had to find through exploration)

If I can have Snap Freeze in single player or be able to swap out more than one power I'll be one happy lass.

The leak is by far the best source of information we have about ME Andromeda and if you're going to ignore it just because you don't like some of the stuff in it, that's genuinely counter-productive. People did the same thing about Inquisition and that was a mistake.

Some of the stuff in the trailer only makes sense because we have the leak as a source. The N7 guy isn't the protagonist because they're probably a random soldier we create for multiplayer purposes. There's a lot of stuff in there that we'll look back on in a year or so and recognise as important systems in the game, like abilities (jetpack boots), the huge range of procedural environments, and what appears to be a mission to attack a khet (?) outpost.

The trailer is a tease. It should not reveal everything, some questions remain open after it is shown. Those questions will be answered later on, as they said.

N7 guy can be the antagonist, huge range was hinted by the devs via twitter, there is nothing remotely resembling outpost in a trailer. If anything it reminds a Remnant Vault raid but again, it can very well be something entirely different.

If Bioware states that what we saw was a Khet outpost raid or whatever, I'll accept that part of the leak as legit. Until then I'll hope for the best.

Some of the footage in the trailer could be from multiplayer.

I don't know if that's just armor or the embroidery, but for me that Krogan looks like a Female Krogan.

ok so second day and im giving the trailer another shot

and im still mad

the music is so not mass effect they try giving it a what firefly feeling ? ( but thats not good when i want mass effect)

they had so long we got almost as much this time as last year

just in motion CG it's pointless

but alright the trailer ends with a

2016 releaes and a possible delay into 2017 and that just killed it for me

look at how fallout 4 is doing it reveal then a release same year

bioware/EA  you could learn a thing or two from Bethesda!
