So I guess it is somewhat confirmed that we will not be getting any gameplay demos this E3, which also means another few months (or year) of cryptic twitter updates by developers and concept art.

Not really. It's MEs '' The Fires Above '' and I didn't exspect more and I didn't exspect less.

Not that much. I'm content for now. Got the release window, title, setting and timeline confirmed + we got the leak which obviously was true.

Not surprised in the slightest, they gave us pretty much what I expected.

I hope you guys realise this is just an announcement and nothing big was expected? We mostly only get a gameplay demo at the e3 in the same year the game is released...

Between Betheada, EA, and Microsoft's conferences, I believe this is and another game are the only games confirmed for Holiday 2016. Everything else is either this fall or early 2016. So sad....

How was the FO4 trailer better? They looked about the same to me. Generic ME, generic FO, new setting... what's the difference?

Not surprised, given how far we still are from release :(

Nope. And I'd like to say I'm surprised by the fans' reactions, but I'd be lying through my teeth if I did.

Wait for SD Comic Con and N7 day. I'm sure we'll get more details then. I doubt we will be waiting until E3 of next year until we hear about gameplay or story.

how can anybody be excited for this

it's 1 and a half year away if we are lucky

they show nothing to get excited for

it's the typical CG crap like always

they should have waited for next years e3

this was a dumb move and it pissed alot of people off.

including me ( yea no **** xD)

And trying to stay silent for another year and not telling us anything? We've known for two years that they are making a new game and knew nothing about it. They had to announce it, especially after the recent leak.

Surprised Mike Gamble flew all that way and didn't introduce or speak on ME:A.

Not surprised about the small offering.  My prediction based on last year's E3 was and still remains 2017.  I don't think it was a good idea for EA to put a date on the game.  If they can't make 2016 they're just going to disappoint and ****** people off again.  Why?  The game is clearly ambitious, so dating it was a poor decision.  Should've waited till E3 2016 to date it.

There may be more, but it is most likely going to be cryptic (albeit less than ever) interviews.

I'm a little surprised, yeah. At this rate, I don't get that they haven't shown any gameplay. Even if there's some super special story reason, there's no reason why a level can't be 'obscured' for meaning and they still get to show people what the game generally looks like.

But I'm only a little surprised. Other than not getting a gameplay demo, everything has been right on the mark for what I was thinking would/could happen. We got a title. We got a general date. We got the general tone. We got a few bits of info about the story overview within details of the trailer, and the textual stuff they're releasing now and may over the course of the week.

We got what games like this basically get when there's 1.5 or more years to go.

It'll be E3 2016 that focuses on things (like Star Wars: Battlefront just had). Sadly. But we got something, something REAL this time.

If you need MASS EFFECT NOWWW, then hibernate until the holiday season, then hibernate again until E3 2016. After that E3, the full hype machine will be in motion.

They're not showing gameplay after what happened with DAI until features are way more locked down. Plus, with Fallout 4 hype, this is a bad time to try and announce anything gameplay wise.

Bio did get burned on this with DAI, though they never officially released that footage. And before that ME1 demos and trailers promised a lot of stuff that didn't happen, though I don't think there was much of a backlash that time.

Naw, I'd have been a bit surprised if it did have gameplay. We got pretty much what I expected, although I of course understand how this can be a disappointment to others.

We're 16-18 months away from launch even if there are no delays. As per BioWare's typical MO, this is what I anticipated.

Considering the proposed release date with the chance for a delay into 2017, not really.

What I'm more surprised is the reason for teasing. This game won't come out for another 1 or 2 more years and we already know it's in development, did we really need a CGI trailer just to tell us the name?

Bethesda usually release gameplay trailers because the game will release in the same year.

I am a little surprised that the game development has been at the pace it has, quite a bit slower than I expected back in 2012. But given that it will not be released until the end of next year, I am not surprised there is no gameplay trailer yet.
