RoboticWater- Once again sorry, but most players don't even know there's a Bioware forum much less post here and give their opinion.

And yes most players disliked the ending. A big poll was taken not long after launch with 90% saying it sucked. Many polls on various websites afterward continue to confirm this. Stop twisting the truth.

Yes it is Shepard 2.0. How else can people view a N7 human Mass Effect hero?

The hero is human, but N7 dude is not the main character.

Darkiddd- What story and themes? It's supposed to be a game of exploration in a new galaxy. Why can't each Milky Way galaxy race be behind something like that? The

Shepard trilogy was a primarily human story of the first Spectre. If Bioware really wanted something fresh and new and they cared about player choice like they claim, they should've given players the ability to choose their race. It worked wonders in Dragon Age Inquisition after all.

Yeah that was sort of the point of the games. I'm not sure you can gripe about that anymore than whining about how DAO made "the wardens" so darn essential.

Frankly given the less than sterling record of racial selection in games and the way it basically turns into "which skin does your really generic hero want to wear" I really don't see why anyone wants mile wide and inch deep game play.

I completely disagree. Mass Effect 2 has you agreeing to work with a human-centric company because humans AND ONLY HUMANS are being threatened by the Reapers' prelude before the entire galaxy would be threatened by them. In Mass Effect 3 the entire galaxy is burning and the player is told Earth is more important than the rest and it makes no sense until it suddenly does by the end because of a twist that actually makes the war on Earth vital to cleansing the galaxy of the Reaper threat.

In no way was Mass Effect 2 the culrpit of being most human-centric.

InExile- Maybe I missed where they confirmed that but doesn't change much in my mind. Thanks though!

It's in the post by Conal that's stickied.

I approve. I was once a big advocate for an option to chose your species, and I still would not mind it but I would most likely end up playing human all the time anyway. I like to create myself in the Mass Effect universe.

However, the character customisation in this game better be amazing.

Right. Not actually the N7 character you saw in the trailer but that doesn't mean your character won't be tied to human military. I can't really see Walters doing anything that original. Semantics I know but we'll see when they decide to tell us more. Regardless, my interest in the game has fallen. Bioware had a good opportunity to rehabilitate itself after ME3 and this just doesn't seem as good as it could've been.

I don't think it'll be original. I'm just not convinced you'll formally be military. I mean, in sci-fi you need a military background to some extend to justify not sucking at combat. But they might do something else to get you that background besides formally human military.

I am a little disappointed tbh, however I am fine with it, I can guess a few possible reasons why "Human only". Even if they gave a selection of races, chances are it would not be the ones a lot would want. Plus you have to take the romances into consideration, although optional it would be hard to animate with certain races like the Krogan. The only races I can think that could have been given are the asari and drell. The turians could have been an option but again I am sure animation would be an issue. Or it could simply be a plot reason, or it would take ALOT of dialogue to include all races as options idk. Again a bit sad but meh its Mass effect, I don't care as much about race (what my character is I mean) as I do with Dragon age tbh.

I certainly don't see Twitter aflame with "we want multiple races," nor reddit, nor anywhere that isn't the BSN. All I've seen is mostly praise and hype. This should make sense. Anyone who likes Mass Effect enough to keep up with it, but not enough to know about the forums probably doesn't care enough about its development to demand an extra feature. Most fans probably just want to jump in, shoot stuff, and explore the universe.

I doubt any of those polls are statistically relevant because of "voluntary response bias." Only those who care about Mass Effect 3's ending enough would be willing to participate in a poll about it, and thus the participants in the poll likely over-represented the population of people outraged and under-represented the population who were fine with the ending and just didn't really care. I don't like the ending at all, but I will concede that most people probably do.

Also, the PC is not the N7 dude: "[The main character] actually not the character you saw in the trailer"

Approve! Race selection was a total waste of resources in DAI because it never really made much a difference beyond aesthetics.

Why am I not surprised ? This was clear from the start. Just wonder how much disappointment I have to prepare ME4.

I'm so relieved to hear it. I like race selection in DA, but I think it would be way too impractical an attempt with the more dramatic variations between species in ME.

RoboticWater- You don't see many complaints because it hasn't set in yet. Give people time. Or maybe you're right and the masses will take any old new flashy thing that they can shoot aliens in. :)

If you don't find polls relevant then there's no way to see anything meaningful regarding people's opinions. I guess they should stop all voter polls for the next election because they are meaningless right? I disagree that most people were not fine with ME3's ending but you make a decent point; a lot of people just did multiplayer and probably didn't care too.

In other news, race selection in DAI was fine. Tons of dialogue choices and romances based on race. It could've easily worked in ME Andromeda without taking away any resources including character/ armor models. But people will have their own opinion.

I like it. This way they can focus on actually creating a more involving story/development with the MC.

And in Inquisition the racial difference is largely just a cosmetic difference after all. And in my eyes, it arguably destroyed the suspense of disbelief because the whole idea of having a Qunari Inquisitor, for example, to become the leader of a paramilitary Andrastian organization and people of Thedas actually supporting that was just a huge WTF because it broke so many rules/lores in Dragon Age's world.

With just human in Mass Effect Andromeda, they can focus on making stories/lores that actually make sense with established ME lore/rules.

Disappointed.

It's not going to ruin it for me. I'm still incredibly excited. But I felt like ME3 multiplayer was going to be a precursor to opening up other races in single player. Not that wide of a selection, but the other Council races would have been nice.

Of course, the upside to this is that they don't have to spend so much time creating different experiences for 3-4 different races and can focus on really fleshing out another human story.

Oddly enough, multiple race options were never that big a concern for me in ME. It's one of those things that would be nice to have... but I just *shrug* when I learned they didn't.

But in Dragon Age, I am the complete opposite. I MUST have my multiple races in DA.

Heh the story better be good..or I foresee a lot of 'Role Play Shepard' there.....

I didn't think they go with many Species (I wanted to play as an Asari commando or Justicar)....but oh well...

Let's hope at least they won't be lazy this time and make the female stand and walk like a dude then feed me bullshit about Engine Limitation.. <_<

I totally have no problem with it so I approved.  I always enjoyed playing as a human.  Maybe during some mission you play as one of your squad members.
