I want to ride an Elcor.

I find myself supporting this.

As long as its as fun and addicting as it was for ME3 I am all for MP in MEA. Just make the store a little different. I've always been a huge fan of the horde mode type game, so I hope that comes back. They are spending so much time on this game I have high hopes it will be a lot better overall.

Edit:

I would like to have a way you can sort of see in the lobby before you join, sort of like in Borderlands 2 where you can see what characters are being played, what level the players are and what difficulty they are on. Instead of the whole thing where you try to find a lobby and constantly jump in and out hunting a good one down.

People are talking a lot about a competitive MP mode.

I hope the people who want that get that, but it would be beyond my ability to handle. I hope that, if it happens, it's separate and independent from the cooperative MP, and that we wouldn't miss out on anything for not playing that on that mode.

I'm fairly certain that if competitive MP was part of ME3, the gameplay would have been far different, and many abilities that people liked would totally disappear as a result, which makes me hope that this never happens. If I want to do competitive multiplayer, I'll just fire up Destiny. I think that this sort of thing should stay well away from Mass Effect.

I think it's a given that we'll get more interesting maps this time around, but I just hope it doesn't feel like an enclosed arena. It was fun at times, but it also felt a bit shallow. Heck I preferred fighting the MP enemies in the Armax Arena. At least there it was a game within the game.

I don't buy that.

Players who bought the game funded the multiplayer. DLC kept the game fresh and the playerbase alive which attracted new players which brought more revenue. My guess is the profits from the RNG store were a nice little bonus, nothing more.

Sure, the sales of ME3 totally keep the MP servers up to this day even when they are owned by EA who are infamous for shutting down servers the moment they are no longer profitable...totally makes sense <---sarcasm

*sigh*

Shutting down the servers would be an utterly, completely idiotic move. They'd lose an insane amount of goodwill, which would affect all their future sales, especially those of MEA. The servers are profitable.

Besides, ME3 has p2p networking. It's not a big drain on server resources. They'd gain nothing.

I will repeat: EA owns the servers...if you require more explanation than this then you are in denial and cannot be convinced even with iron-clad proof

You're blinded by your hate of EA. There's always a reason why EA does what it does. You may not understand those reasons, you may not agree with their motives, but the reasons are there.

There's 0% chance the ME3 servers will be shut down before MEA is here, even if no one buys a single pack from the RNG store. If you think otherwise, you've no clue how the business works.

You have no clue how EA works. I would LOOOOOVE to go trudging through years worth of threads in the ME3MP section to find the countless times it was confirmed that RNG packs funded ME3 MP and it's FREE DLCs but i really dont care. Everyone in the MP community has known this for years, because it has never been a secret. If the game's sales funded the MP and it's DLCs and gave them to us for free then why didnt the SP get free DLC? Oh yeah because that isnt how EA works, Money = Money, plain and simple. We got an entire faction for the MP which wasnt even re-used assets like most of the other stuff and yet it was FREE.

If you care so much then YOU go search through the threads and find all the stuff, i have better things to do like play the FREE ME3MP i enjoy because of all that RNG money people threw at Bioware

- Easy Screenshot feature

- 0-g combat

- Boarding ships as missions (manage gravity, oxygen, access, randomized ship layout)

- Mako Beach racing, a bar with Asari next to the race track

- Mandatory (PvP) MP, prompted when first starting the game:

"You want the FULL experience?" - "Yes, Master Race reporting in!" vs "No, I am a lowly scrub - I don't deserve to play this game!"

The reason MP DLC was free was that paid DLC would've divided the playerbase. Still, DLC like the Retaliation brought in lots of new players, which meant profits for EA. That's all there is to it.

No other EA game does free dlc to prevent splitting the playerbase or have you never played a Battlefield game?

:pinched:

BF playerbase is big enough that it can be split. ME3 playerbase is not.

You cannot determine a playerbase for a 1st time MP before it is even shipped. BF is a long-running series so they have numbers for that but ME3's MP was the 1st of it's kind and yet it immediately got free dlc.

You are in major denial and will use any excuse. It is hilariously diluted

You're clueless. There was never even a slightest chance ME3 would sell more than a fraction of what BF3 did, and BF3 is all about multiplayer, whereas a major portion of ME players are focused on single-player only.

This doesnt help your case. Making an assumption that free dlc was made to keep the players together is laughably absurd, and not even remotely in-line with EA's marketing strategies.

Wait, im done. I cant teach the blind to see as they are incapable. ME3MP was funded by the RNG packs, never thought id have to "convince" some ignorant fool this simple fact that we have known for years. Next i would have to teach you the Earth is round and that the Sun is a star, but i dont have the patience to slam my face into concrete for days as you seem to be a master of. Good luck with your ignorance, hopefully enlightenment finds you but i doubt you would let it in

Well, I'm sure it incited people to buy packs in order to get respect cards. It probably wasn't worth much money, maybe next to none, but maybe in their mind it was different? That's what I've always thought, at least, that that was the reason.

When the game first came out respec cards were the least of your problems. You could (literally) get all respec cards in a pack. There was no limit and the RNG number was set so high it would take precedence over other items. I had over 100 of them at one point. Yeah, BW got grilled over that and finally limited the number to three.

Show me a single piece of evidence. Numbers. A dev referring to significant revenues. Anything. You'd think it was easy, as this is a "simple fact" that you and others have "known for years" - you even said it was confirmed "countless times".

Put your money where your mouth is. I'm ready to admit it when I'm wrong, but I won't do it just because someone keeps throwing insults at me.

As a whole, microtransactions make a lot of money for EA.

@ Aedolon and Emissary of the Collectors

One day there will be a productive debate on the Bioware forums where the individuals involved do not try to degrade one another in derogatory slurs and insults, but instead embrace positivity and conclude coincidentally feeling better about themselves as human beings, regardless of whether an agreement is reached.

But it is not this day.

Yeah, and on such a day there might even be a debate based on facts and actual arguments... ;)

I personally wouldn't mind some entirely optional co-op campaign elements. Guess this stems from my Borderlands 2 experience. I went through that solo to level 50 before the expansions. Then decided to finally give into the co-op mode. Turned out to be a blast running around with friends beating stuff up. Sure, the two games aren't that similar but the experience was nearly the same when playing with others: fun.
