The category is a pretty loose one, with lots of Sniper Rifles really being Assault Rifles and vice versa.

There are very effective ARs, that are among the most powerful weapons in the game, but they are Ultra Rares, making them difficult to obtain or level up (The Saber and Harrier come to mind.)

A Hurricane with native stability bonuses is recognized as one of the deadlier combinations, and there does seem to be some consensus that the Hurricane was buffed a couple of times too many. The Hurricane is also an Ultra Rare (albeit one that spent the first year of its life as a promotional weapon.) In general, the SMGs are weaker than their AR counterparts, to account for their lighter weight, but the Hurricane and CSMG are definitely exceptions.

Well yeah there ar several light sniper rifles that do act like-ish an AR and on the AR the Sabre with a scope is basically an analog for the Valiant. The Harrier is a good weapon ( and that or the Sabre are my ARs of choice) but I'd trade more weight for more ammo. As it is the damage potential is limited by the need to restock almost contantly. Firing cyclical at something like some Brutes you can chew up all your ammo in a matter of seconds while with the hurricane I can fire for a much longer period of time. On something like the Devestator it can really shine though. The problem is that while those ARs are useful there seems little reason to choose them over other guns in other categories. I'd like the ARs to have more, especially non-ultra rates, feel useful something that the other gun choices do.

Others have echoed that sentiment.

I chalk it up to preference, personally. A good example would be shotguns. I almost never use them. A combination of factors plays into that, including their weight, and that I am rarely able to make good use out of them, no matter how high their damage is. Even so, they are definitely very effective (if not in my hands.)

I suspect it is similar for people who don't like to pick the ARs, Their style is better served by the advantages that other weapons have.

If there is a stark difference, it seems to be with the Gold "Rare" weapons. Most categories have one or two fairly easy to use weapons that are at least somewhat overpowered for the class (Acolyte, Graal/GPS, Kishock/CSR) while the closest AR I can think of is the Argus Rifle. The Argus become a beast with native stability on a Turian. But without stacking stability, it will not perform nearly as effectively. You don't need to do anything special to make an Acolyte or a GPS work well, but the Argus needs some specific build/loadout tweaks before it catches up.

I think the Gold ARs are kind of neglected when it comes to good weapons, at least compared to the other categories. With the Harrier and the Saber out there, I think UR ARs are at least on par with the others.

Nah, most of the ARs effectively and objectively suck, and this is coming from a guy who prefers to take subpar weapons and kits and maximize them to their full potential.

Shotguns, pistols, and sniper rifles are nearly perfectly balanced. Though the viper I find subpar.

A sexy turian? Maybe a Quarian? Honestly, I'd like everything stated in the YouTube vid that was posted. More importantly, no PvP (go to CoD fish oil for PvP, Battlefield, Planetside 2 or w/e else).

..and I get the preference angle. I did all the weapon challenges but the sniper rifles. I'm not good with them but I know they work because I see people tearing things up with them. God knows know I see people go to town wi the Piranha but I can't do diddly with that. The Harrier is the only AR I see ripping it up...although as you said on the Turian Solider things work but damn almost anything works on those cats.

I think one of things I would like to see across the board is more viability on weapons. You almost always see the same weapons being used unless people just don't have access. I can't tell you the last time I saw a Hornet, Carnifex, Crusader in a fight. There was a point in time when those might have been good for a load out but as load outs have grown ironically it feels like weapon variety has shrunk.

I definitely hope that sniper rifles just work like sniper rifles, instead of having a hipfire penalty and/or some weird time slowdown effect. I realize they won't have the slowdown effect in multiplayer either way, but I always assumed the hipfire penalty was supposed to balance the time dilation.

Batarian superiority established once more.

What do i want in the next game? I want to fall in love again with my characters. i want to be sad when they die. And happy when they don't.

I want my decisions to actually mean something. I want to fail. And I want to be able to try again, and win (or fail again).

I want  insane mode of play that you know, actually make the enemies harder to kill. I want immersion. I want better AI for both my mates and the enemies..  I want my mates to fall in love with each other, Or hate each other. I want drama. And good combat. And good lore that, you know, makes sense.

I don't want or need another shooter. Got tons of those already. I don't want a game with endless fetch quests, terrible combat AI,  and a weak end-game. Got one of those too (DAI).

I'll trust in the dev's to give us crazy good weapons and armor. The rest.. I don't know. Bioware is WAY low on my list now.

Vehicles for vehicle based maps such as tanks and pod racers, also featuring enemy tanks and artillery.

Playable Atlases.

p.s. sync kills should be revivable.

I'll drive the Mako, you work the turret-mounted machine gun. We'll make the Geth dance like they've never danced before!

Well playing as a Geth, it would be cool to get the option to download into a new Platform before death or something to that degree. Maybe have an extra ability thing that allows for it to be a thing lol.

Of course if Geth still have that AI evolution like I did and probably other players like me did than not sure how well this idea will work. Geth make me regret killing the Reapers.

I would like to see playable synthetic classes be able to customize not just their armor's stats but to be able to completely swap out parts of their chassis opening up completely new gameplay opportunities. AI like the Geth are just software, so it shouldn't matter how they mod their 'bodies'.

Think of it like the Armored Core series, you start out with a base foundational piece and then build off of that, swapping out parts as needed. Want to be a Geth Juggernaut? Slap some ultra dense combat armor around your AI core and upgrade your platform for high defense slow mobility. Want to be a Geth Hopper? Replace your platform's arms and legs with a hopper variant, and upgrade the power source to accommodate for higher mobility and enemy jamming capabilities. Etc.

Moving into ME:A, I would like to see BioWare expand on the asymmetrical nature of the classes and various alien species. Don't just have everyone running around like the human classes, branch out and don't be afraid to add mechanics that are wholly unique to the alien in question. Fully customizable Geth, playable Rachni, etc. give us a more diverse and fleshed out universe to play in, don't give us a re-skinned human with one or two powers shuffled around.

Would really like it if:

- Enemy factions' challenge wasn't based on stunlock

- Enemy factions' challenge wasn't based on stunlock plus arbitrarily impairing player abilities (i.e .Geth bad, Collectors worse.)

- Enemies didn't gangbang downed players, rendering several game mechanics and resources irrelevant.

- And especially no synch-kills. They ignore player skill and add a random death/failure element that arbitrarily impairs progress.

BioWare please DON'T take inspiration from DAMP in this regard. Being revived by a teammate, only to immediately be downed again before you even get control of your character is NOT FUN.

Honestly, I'd be perfectly fine with the regular 4-on-all horde mode, like what we have in ME3 now, if they make it as much fun as the current one! I really don't care for PvP of any kind.

Agree...

Throw in text chat (ok, if lobby only), a better game finder, make sure no classes induces migraines in people (geth hunter mode) and we're pretty much good to go.

Tho, I didn't like the store of randomness.

I disliked the RNG nature of the store as well, but I would gladly take ME 3's version over DAMP's any day. At least the Mass Effect store had a linear progression when you got items.

1. I want to be able to create more character instances from 1 class. for example when i unlock a krogan soldier i can have one instance specced for inferno and carnage for fire explosions and another for pure melee. without the necessity of using power reset cards, or promoting my class all the time.

2. i want the game to remember my gear and weapon selections for each kits.

3. no rng. 600+ hours and i'm only halfway in having level 10 UR weapons. no way i'm gonna be able to play with ME:A that much. so if i don't spend hours every day infront of my pc i deserve a middle finger and not having good guns at decent levels?

Actually, count me as someone that LIKES synch-kills (once the banshee lag was fixed). Hell, my only problem with the Collectors was they upped the damage for the collectors at every level.

I LIKEd the fact that the collectors coyld shut down your powers for a moment....I liked synch kills.

Drunk mode, similar to when Shepard has a few drinks with Dr. Chakwas on ME2 and the screen sways around, would be interesting trying to fire a gun like that.

What I want is fast load times in MP + SP of course.

DAI MP load times is like putting your car in reverse.  I've been playing ME3MP, lately.  What a difference!! I read the other day that ME: A borrowed heavily from the DAI systems technologies. Well, if long load times are the results.. whoopi shitz is my reaction.

that means you dont have all the characters and weapons unlocked. trust me, me3 multi in the beginning and me3 multi after you unlocked every gear and weapon is like two completely different game. theres a thread in the multi section called how to spend credits. http://forum.bioware...d-your-credits/i suggest you read it :) but this is kinda off topic here.

Mainly I'd like to be able to specify whether I want join a lobby, a game-in-progress, or either.  I understand DAMP has this?  MEAMP should too.

If I'm allowed to dream a little, it would be great to have some kind of official distinction made between hackers and modders, followed by support for the modding community.

Once upon a time, in my wildest dreams, I would like playable Hanar and Elcor.

To be clear, I expect only the first of those is realistic.
