as fun as the banter is, it's getting rather annoying hearing Solas and Varric repeatedly having the same conversation about the Grey Wardens again and again and again. it's not even a case of having run out of banter and just repeating the last one either as occasionally there's new conversations instead of Solas saying something about the Grey Wardens allowing elves and dwarves into their ranks

currently this is only happening in Frostback Basin so I'm not yet sure if the bug is with the game itself or just the Jaws of Hakkon DLC

It's the game. This happened to me in the Hissing Wastes.

I've had that bug too. It seems their banter becomes bugged after a point. It was in the main game too.

Yup, happened to me a few times during my first play through. Especially with Varric and Dorian betting on the odds of my Inquisitor's success. They even continued to have it after I finished the story. I've had other companions stuck in a banter loop.

I've only had this occur in the Frostback Basin (JoH).  It never happened before I went there, and I didn't notice it at any point afterward.

 

I suspected it was a JoH problem.

Well, banter sometimes gets into a weird rapid-fire state in Jaws, which may be why you only noticed it there (I think it also adds new banters, so maybe some of those are broken too).

There are a handful of banter conversations that apparently have bad flags (they're either setting or checking the wrong one), which causes them to repeat.

Since it's all random, you're just at the mercy of the gods as to how often you'll encounter it (there's no indication that BioWare intends to fix the problem banters). Just keep changing up your party composition.

That's the exact one that I kept getting throughout my attempt at Jaws of Hakkon. The first time it was funny. The fourth I just wanted them to shut up.

yep it's started happening elsewhere too. although now Solas also keeps pestering Varric about having killed Cory

I guess it's as good a reason as any to change out my party, but I'm happy to listen to Dorian and Varric betting I'll succeed, so I don't mind that one.  The more negative comments I try to avoid, so I don't usually pair certain teams up.
