I don't understand how this guy is not a PC. I mean, he's busy with player's prerogative - choosing missions.

It will be funny though if we play errant boy for some cool N7 guy.

Well that was my reasoning as well but BW officially confirmed it so maybe this time we are not the commander of the ship but a second-in-command or henchman

My guess: he got sent along with his crew to Andromeda for some reason, but then lost contact with Milky Way. So, PC is sent there to find him and learn what happened.

@FireW4lker. That's what I'm thinking as well.  I suspect that he's some fancy war hero mini-Shepard type and we're being sent on a rescue mission for him.  Cue the dramatic music when he turns out to be the antagonist.

I'd wager a random subordinate of yours. It sounds like the PC is going to be in charge of much more than a ship. So he's prob some random soul you sent to scout planets before you arrive. Maybe Harding 2.0 at best?

Well now i'm starting to think that being in a game where we are not in command for once might be a refreshing experience. Although I don't understand why making a trailer about a secondary character making it appear as the leading protagonist.

Perhaps BW chose to give the multiplayer a bit more context this time. You, the playable character, has his/her team of soldiers (your multiplayer characters, like in ME3) that s/he sends on missions on different planets. Instead of those missions just being a glorified countdown (like DA:I's War Table missions), you get to play those missions with others online. Your team of multiplayer characters is called N7 in honor of the Alliance soldiers, just like in ME3.

Actually, that would be awesome.

Just as long as it's optional. Spoil my precious gaming time by interacting with other human beings? *shudder*

I think that trailer was in production fairly early on, when they didn't even know who or what exactly the player is supposed to be.

So they just went with a Shepard facsimile for the trailer.

Maybe it's someone in charge before you and you take over after he dies or steps down.

I'd say it's better to keep expectations low regarding an oingoing connection between MW and Andromeda.

I think it's ah actual character in the game. They said in the blog they'll explain more about him later.

Probably just some random bloke used for the trailer.

But we'll see.

That's kind of weird though... if the first trailer is more like a proof of concept, and no narrative. It doesn't seem like Bioware's style to not have a protagonist fleshed out yet.

Even the earliest and mysterious ME2 trailer signaled some ties to the story we got (Legion in N7 armor, Shepard deceased).

A random one or the person that discover how to travel to Andromeda by accident troughout a wormhole.

They will need to tell us how is that possible in the beggening of the story.

Yeah but that was a different process. Shepard was going to be the protagonist of ME2, they knew that before they even started development.

Shepard was a starting condition.

This time around, everything is new and made from scratch. The starting condition is the overall concept, the protagonist is worked in later.

If he actually is and if that trailer actually was supposed to be symbolic then it's basically Shepard.

I just hope for the love of God that the guy isn't Shepard......just no.....to see him/her and not being able to play as him/her would be the most frustrating thing I ever seen in my life.....I don't want even to mention the idea of evil-Shepard being the villain...not even as a clone.

Whether it's Shep or not, he still has my gun of choice. Far into the future..or whatever..... someone still favoring the Carnifex.

They just did the same thing as with DAI. In the first DAI trailer, Cassandra was set in the "protagonist" shoes in two scenes (which never made the final cut).

Really? I think I missed those. The first one I remember is the Inquisitor immediately coming out of a rift and Cass putting a blade to his throat. I didn't mistake her for a protagonist.

That's Not the first trailer. The first was shown At E3 2013.

Oh that's right. The Morrigan one.

Actually, I remember another early one, showcasing the new world... and Harry Hadden Paton narrating (and sounding badass in it.... better than he does in the game btw). Neither one made me think Cass was a protagonist though.

Thai essere in Jan/Feb 2014, I think. And I agree on the VA, as well as Cass. Expecially because At the end they shown the PC.

I always knew that guy would eventually made career and become a Commander. He got the right skills, shutting his mouth up, following orders and flattering your superiors. :P
