So, let's unravel what we know thus far.

The setting will take place in Andromeda. A galaxy with a relative distance of 2.5 million light years from the Milky Way.

The tech is kinda on level with that of the MEU we know with exceptions that can probably be explained in that the mission is one of exploration. That and it has been said that the timeline will occur during Shepards timeline.

With those two bits of info I propose that a gateway, or more likely a relay or experimental relay design has allowed the galactic civilizations to pierce the barrier's of the Milky way while avoiding the trek through dark space. Thus we are looking at a frontier styled setting where a lone crew are sent off to explore it. Perhaps to establish a new presence or to build a means of returning back to the Milky Way to establish traffic between galaxies.......

Given the frontier vibe, it makes sense that they would have a military adviser aboard. Someone who is the best and humanities best soldier's can be found in the ranks of the N7. While I can't say who this N7 is, given that it has been said the person in the trailer is not the PC..... I can say that if this character will appear as part of the crew it sets up possible narratives.

Those narratives could include the N7 being an adviser to the N7 trying to take over the expedition when they make contact with a threat. Bioware may have just introduced us to the villain of the game.... Or as I suspect is more likely, just the character who shows the more basic combat mechanics and design philosophy of the game.

Those spire's though..... They reminded me of Prothean towers.... Less refined, less well built.

Definetly Earthborn because he likes 50's 60's country music.   :-)

He is followed by multiple companions, one of them is a female N7 armoured human and the other one is a krogan.

They are either friends or companions or mercenaries.

@FireW4lker. That's what I'm thinking as well.  I suspect that he's some fancy war hero mini-Shepard type and we're being sent on a rescue mission for him.  Cue the dramatic music when he turns out to be the antagonist.

ME does Heart of Darkness?

Can you link where they said that? I'm looking for my source but I'm away from my rig atm.

While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later).

Which makes it rather odd that the character is wielding a Carnifex, doesn't it... You'd think gun designs would shift a bit...

If they traveled to Andromeda using FTL (and not a macguffing), it would take over 500 years at the currently known max FTL speed (that isn't from a Reaper) and the technology level wouldn't advance during the travel because of limited resources.

It might look similar, but we don't know how much the tech inside has changed.

It probably will be, it'll probably just be a placeholder until they're got a default face down for either the male/ female protagonists, or it could be just BioWare trying to mislead us.

Well, there are a few options:

1. He either wants to kill us.

2. He is ME:A's Leeroy Jenkins.

3. He is a Squad Mate.

4. He is ME:A's Big Ben Sniper.

5. None of the above.

One thing I don't understand is how different will be the main character... I mean that is a human mail with N7 logo and a hemlet... Will the MC just be like that without the hemlet? Or won't it be an N7? Or will he have 3 legs??

I don't think the main character is going to be a N7. That's a special op military designation and exploration doesn't really fit with "special op military" to me. That is unless N7 was totally changed over time for whatever reasons.

Perhaps BW chose to give the multiplayer a bit more context this time. You, the playable character, has his/her team of soldiers (your multiplayer characters, like in ME3) that s/he sends on missions on different planets. Instead of those missions just being a glorified countdown (like DA:I's War Table missions), you get to play those missions with others online. Your team of multiplayer characters is called N7 in honor of the Alliance soldiers, just like in ME3.

Actually, that would be awesome.

Yes, this is actually what they're doing - according to the leak.

I suspect that our Strike Team Mission characters wear the N7 armour, whereas the main character - the Pathfinder - does not.

So the man in the trailer is probably one of the random soldiers under our command leading a strike team on an uncharted planet, not the main character.

They could go through a wormhole the day before Shepard sets off the Crucible and end up in the Andromeda galaxy a million years later.

Sounds feasible, wouldn't be against that! Though I hope multiplayer won't be too hefty an impact upon the singleplayer campaign. Still really looking forward to finding out more about the game, though I'm naturally sceptical, the recent signs have been encouraging for me. :)

Allow me to say, that I am probably very wrong, but I'm saying it nonetheless:

I'm going to speculate that this is a representation of the events immediately preceding the beginning of MEA. That conflict we saw at the end of the trailer? It ends with the guy in the N7 armor dead, but his two companions (assuming they're Cora and Drack) retreat to inform... well, whoever's in charge of the trip. As a result, the protagonist is sent to travel and gather information on the attackers (who are probably Khet, IMO), help establish settlements and drive away these folks, while checking out Remnant tech at the same time.

Anyway, it's just my theory. :) :P

I don't understand why you guys think the N7 character is random soldier #6453 or random MP character #8567. They would not put something like that in the big reveal trailer. Just look back at previous trailers in the series.

This N7 guy, whoever he may be, is important to the story.
