Guys please... this was just a (random) tease. Probably using characters from that "strike team" from the MP part of MEA. BioWare was clearly NOT heading for showing anything from the story aspect of the game.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet my whole stash of elfroot on the N7 character being the antagonist. He doesn't look like an explorer to me, this guy's out on the hunt for something or someone. The way he flips those screens and goes back to the first one more like on a hunch or instinct.
Then the way he pulls up the Carnifex and walks towards the screen, there's something odd about him, he's up to no good.
And there's also this:
[pictures]
And I doubt they would put an MP Char in the reveal of what still appears to be a story driven experience.
Now lets find that heard, old cowboy.
He's got an outlaw bandana type thing sticking out below the helmet as well.
Like this guy:

Probably means nothing though.

You are digging too deep guys. This guy does exaclty what we are supposed to: exploring planets, going on missions to Remnant relics, mass murdering local (agressive) andromedians. And don't forget about Mako among his troops, "your Mako".
I'm myself would really like hunted PC, but available info suggests otherwise.
I'd like that too, we did our fair share of chasing in ME1 and ME2, let's see how well we can do when the tables are turned.

Personally I think it's someone hunting us.
So the N7 are hunting us ? We are fighting some bad N7 outlaws ? This is the story of ME4 ?

Tease, yes. But random? Doubtful. Nothing about previous Bioware games reveal trailers was random. And MP always had separate trailers.

My highest hope would be that we are "offspring" of a synthesis ending, and the last remaining "true orgaincs" from the MW are hunting us, as we are hunting organics in Andromeda. I know that's never going to happen but I would love it if it did.
But then I wanted the HoF and/or Alistair to go off on their calling before DAI and then in DAI have us stumble across a HoF/Alistair ghoul in the deep roads and have to kill them.

for people who take time to think the game take place in andromeda system far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard’s heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy so shepead is dead so the main caracter will be a new caracter with backstory we will create ![]()

I am thinking that the similarity of the shots could also be establishing a "spiritual" continuation with the last installment, where the shot of BroShep watching the Earth and then walking towards the screen with the N7 logo on his chest clearly visible was the last shot of the ME3 "Big Ben" teaser trailer, which was also the first teaser for that game and which also had a slightly "deceptive" opening featuring Coates. If you look at it, it is actually kind of staggering how similar the two teasers are in some respects. While I do not think this similarity goes beyond that thematic connection, I have a nagging suspicion that there could be more to this. Now, I am not saying that the person in the trailer is Shepard. For one, that would be...that would be....
well, fudgebuckets.

You never know. Look at the first ME2 tease, with Legion. It ended up saying a lot of the final story.

Meh ME3 VGA trailer with London guy was as random as it gets. He wouldn't even be in the game if it wasn't for starved-for-info fans getting too excited to see something new and asking to include him in the game

Consider what he is doing first of all. To me it looks like he is searching for something. He is thumbing through photos (taken by recon drones?) with little co-ordinate targets on them. He has looked at the desert one long and hard, checks the other ones briefly, then makes a decision to fly, presumably light years, to the desert one. To me he is very much in command and not a multiplayer strike team character or a subordinate.

I would have agreed if Bioware hadn't said anything about him not being the PC. The similarity with Shep could have been there only to make you feel at home.
But the fact they stressed he is not the PC is very suspicious to me: he cannot be just a placeholder, they wouldn't have said he's not the PC.
I do not agree he is a MP character (no sense) and he cannot be an usual squad mate (he's deciding where to go with HIS ship), so he is a main character of the story with strong personality, I would say (as he draws his gun).
He could be an ally or an antagonist... Or... we could make him one of those with our choices!!! ![]()
My bet is he's a villain, but he cannot be Shep or one of his clones, this is already been used in Citadel DLC.

I did some research, made a few phone calls, and found out that the character in the trailer is none other than Commander "Shipwreck" MacWalters, an explorer combing the Andromeda galaxy in search of the fabled, spiked RGB paddle, which he can use to further pursue his lust for end-ruining.

As I said a page or two back, the London trailer is not about Coats, it's about Shepard and there's nothing random about it, also gives a good picture about the story:
1. Reapers are on Earth in full force.
2. Millions dead.
3. Coats: "If Shepard does not bring help we're screwed"
4. Shepard leaves to get help.
Definitely, the thematic connection is there, but I think there could be more to it, those scenes are way to similar. Time will tell.
And then there's the deceptiveness of Bio's trailers, there is always some solid info in them but it's all out of context. The power of video editing ![]()

Your worst nightmare!
I actually thought it would be interesting if the N7 brand had devolved into a disreputable merc-type outfit. However, in a recent interview, Aaron Flynn said N7 still meant the noble things it represented in the trilogy.

Damn that sucks. I'd take the evil merc angle. I was hoping it was a Conrad Verner cult though.

Its okay though, we got NewN7, better than the OldN7 (by the end of MEA at least).

Heart vs Arm N7.
Mirrored N7 on chest is also notable.
