I thought it was good. Better than some shitty dubstep.

For me it pulled a lot together. Meant a lot personally because my grandfather used to sing me that song when I was a little kid. The western style fits with exploration and Mass Effect has always pulled from many sci-fi shows and fandoms. I felt it was a nod to Firefly as well as Guardians of the Galaxy. It also plays to us older folks which is awesome to me. Teens wouldn't likely know Cash so that speaks volumes to their target audience. Not a dumb move on Bioware's part.

Cowboys and Aliens, not Mass Effect. Horrible decision.

I don't agree with americanization, but being Cash's music...well, it could have been worse. Like for example:

[beginning]
An old cowboy went ridin' out
One dark and windy day,
Upon a ridge he rested as
He went along his way,
When all at once a mighty herd
Of red-eyed cows he saw,
Plowing through the ragged skies
And up the cloudy draw.
[FTL]
Yippee-yi-ay, yippee-yi-oh
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in the sky
And Old Cowboy went riding out. The protagonist. On their ship.
Dark and windy day. Andromeda doesn't sound entirely peaceful to me. Dark and windy is a fitting comparison.
Upon a ridge he rested as - later, the N7 climbs up a rock. Could be called a ridge.
of red-eyed cows he saw - he saw the enemy, capiche?
Not sure what to think of the rest.
But then, Ghost Riders in the Sky.
We're presumably stuck with another vessel sporting a Normandy-class stealth IES Stealth Drive. Ghost Riders. In the Sky? Well, YOU'RE IN ORBIT IF YOU'RE NOT OUT IN OPEN SPACE.
Also, in the beginning, we see a planet not dissimilar to the Wild West. Later, the N7 lands on this planet with Ash2.0 and a Krogan.

Regardless of taste, its completely unrelated to the theme of mass effect with its 3 amazing soundtracks. This isn't red dead andromeda!
You realize that the themes common to the Western genre have a lot of overlap with space exploration, right? Especially since Mass Effect Andromeda seems to be emphasizing the exploration aspect.

It gives a feeling of lawless exploration, kinda like the west.
This isn't red dead andromeda!
That actually sounds pretty awesome.

Oh man it's not even been a day and people are already searching for reasons in a 1.5 min long trailer to hate absolutly everything in this game. ![]()
The devs said there were hints in the trailer, so I'm guessing the topic of the song has actually something to do with what's happening in the last bit of the trailer (if you interpret it in some way).
I don't think they would have used such a song in a Mass Effect trailer otherwise.
