A lot of people are lazy
Thank you. Much better. I simple don't give a f*ck sometimes.
At least you're not acting like you're cool for it.

That was harsh, I suppose. I think PC gaming is a lot more rewarding, and a lot less restrictive (the fact that Fallout 4s mod content on consoles is going to be curated by Bethesda really brings that home). You can't even pop a screw on your goddamn PS4 without voiding your warranty. In a few years, my phone will have more memory than a PS4 (it eclipsed last gen systems a couple years ago).
I've used both my entire life (I'm a little younger than you, I think, but not much). They've always been segregated by game type (for years, my PC was just an RTS/RPG/MMO box). I really only completely switched over for this gen.
PC gaming seems like a no-brainer these days. Even if you spend a bunch more money than a console on a decent PC, you're going to get that back in games in no time, because they're so cheap.
Console die-hards should skip this gen if they haven't gotten one already and get a Steam Box. Then you can sit the system in front of your TV and you'll still be able to swap out components to keep it current.
I'm pretty sure that Microsoft brought it back not only to appeal to people, but so they stop developers making a quick dime and just porting their games over to next-gen to stop the trend of "remasters". So I wouldn't be surprised if that stops the remastered trilogy from happening.
Think about it guys: Remastering a game is an easy way to gain some money. I don't think nor EA or Bioware will waste this chance. Also, the hopes may be dead for XBOX's users, but what about PS4's ones?
I wasn't disputing their popularity. I was questioning the wisdom of that popularity.
I wanted a console when I was 8. I bought a console when I was 22 (because I couldn't afford a PC at the time). I sold that console while I was still 22, because I didn't enjoy it.
I haven't wanted one since.

EA wouldn't have the Mass series remastered for one console and not the other.
A lot of people are lazy. Console gaming is easier, I guess.
However, I can (and I did) build a PC for a little bit more than the cost of an Xbox One, and it's more powerful. I can pop a new GPU in there and practically jump an entire console generation if need be. I also have a much larger world of games (including pretty much all console games) that are frequently moddable and customizable to varying extent. Plus, I still park my ass in front of the TV with an Xbox controller to play most of them.
These days, consoles really are just gimpy mid-range gaming PCs. The only thing to recommend them is the rare exclusive. Those things don't sell systems the way they think they do.

Yes, lazy, or, they just want to play games because that's what gamers do. People like you just makes the PC community even more bad, have some respect, consoles rule the market, they're more popular than ever, because consumers want them.
Geez.
I softened my rhetoric in the next post after that. It's worth examining why this is though. I guess it's marketing.
In any event, consoles are PCs, they're just gimped and locked down, with objectively overpriced software. That's why I suggested people get a steam box when they're out. It's just as easy as getting, and setting up, an Xbox or a PS4, it just comes out ahead in every category.

Overpriced hardware that ables a gamer to play a beautiful game like Driveclub, something a 400$ PC (if there's such thing) wouldn't ever reach it. So, no, consoles are a learning curve, always have been, and they still bring amazing experiences for years.
Xbox, PS, Wii, PC, whatever you get, fun is granted, don't question people's personal choices, look at the facts, sales and games wise. Just play the damn game and get along.
Overpriced software. I don't really see how you can dispute that.
I know how popular consoles are. That doesn't by default make them the better option, on paper or in practice. But ok.

PS Now will be what PS4 users will be able to use. A little more expensive than the Xbox solution, but workable nontheless.

Steam box....
Fun fact: Steam OS's catalog is 4 times bigger than PS4 and XBone combined.
Fun fact: The catalog of the Steam boxes is ~5 times PS4 and XBone, combined.
Does that includes all of Sims expansions? Makes sense. Are we talking big, or small?
Explain? Software? It's the whole package bud, are you comparing a PC's software with a consoles' one? You know they're different things, right?
Nobody said they're better, at least not me or Street Magic. Don't twist someone who express their personal preferences with a person who express his/hers like if they're a fact.
The whole package?
I know that a great game that still costs $40 new on Xbox can be had for $1.50 on Steam. And a PC can also play... every game that's ever been released for PC, pretty much.
Fun fact: Steam boxes have 5 times the amount of PS4 (182) and XBone (187) games combined.
And when the PS5 or whatever comes out, I can still pop a new GPU in to turn my PS4 greater than into a PS5 greater than.

Games only, no DLCs.
You're looking at it the wrong way.
The reason Sony is pushing for remasters is because they lost the previous generation war. A large portion of the PS4 user base did not own a PS3. Selling them remaster of PS3 exclusive staples like Naughty Dog games makes a lot of sense.
The other kind is the game that went out just before or during the change, like the Borderlands collection. The games were not available for next gen so people who just bought their XB1 or PS4 had no reason to buy them.
Other games are way harder to sell. As much as I'm interested in Mass Effect, I'm not sure I would buy a remaster. Same thing for Dishonored. As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best game in the last few years, but there's not much point in buying it for next gen (except if it didn't sell as well as they hoped and they're using the remaster as way to push the brand before Dishonored 2 goes out).
What does this have to do with what you quoted me saying? How am I looking at it the wrong way? You're wrong, btw. Every publisher under the sun is re-releasing older games on these new consoles. It's not just Sony doing it.
The annoying thing about the PC only crowd is you all act like you just discovered sunlight, and have to announce it the world. I've been doing this **** forever..I'm old enough to remember loading Wing Commander on a floppy disk. Yet I don't act elitist about it.
There are many PC elitist people out there doing that, yes. But I was pointing out the issues that exist in the console space that are a direct consequence of a lazy consumer base that is okay with being put over a barrel and having every part of their gaming experience monetized as long as it means they aren't inconvenienced. That is the state of it, it's not elitist to say so, and that is why console gaming has become so bad in the last ten years or so.

Yes. A console is gaming only. The whole package.
A great launch title costs 1.40$ on Steam? I don't think so. Also, 40$ and 60$ are the default prices, but don't think you can't find them for cheaper. Internet is a thing.
Can you play Idk... Infamous Second Son on your top nodge GPU? Are we still talking about games?
What am I doing here again..... platform wars ehhhhh.
I had no idea that the internet was a thing. Thanks for letting me know. Please drop me a line when console games (physical or digital) ever go on sale to the extent that they do for PC games. That doesn't happen.
And yes, we're still talking about games. I'd be surprised if exclusives actually sell that many consoles. They'd always be better off released cross-platform, but there's nothing I can do about that. I'll just continue to advocate for the platform that will essentially play every game from the last 30 years. And you'll continue to be deliberately obtuse.

No remastered trilogy
The only thing that would really make it worthwhile would be rebuilding the gameplay across all three games to match up. Did you really think they're gonna do that?
