So Bioware's Blog states "While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw."

That is some telling info. Long after is confusing given the 3 options of ME3. I'm interested to see how they play it out (or distance themselves from, figuratively speaking).

In other words, everything about the ending is going to 'resolved' in a ****** poor fashion or completely ignored and it's likely there won't be any resolution on characters from the old trilogy.

I hope that you are wrong, but it is entirely likely.

That's the *only* way they see forward for the story, unfortunately. Walters and Hudson succeeded in their plan to Torch the Franchise and Run. Let's just IGNORE the massive spaces in the Milky Way that haven't been explored or seen. Let's ignore that they could have set the franchise far enough away in time to smooth over the endings.

Nope, gotta set it in a new galaxy, because DAMN, one isn't enough despite how big space is. Really big. Massively big.

Buying this one on sale after four or five years. If it hits $5.00.

And you're surprised? Literally, we predicted EXACTLY this over a year ago. Anyone could have seen this coming. For months now, I've been calmly trying to tell people that this would happen, and to accept it. I even made some tongue-in-cheek comments about witnessing the inevitable nerd rage when it did come to pass.

But now that it has, the nerd rage is not so amusing to me. The game will be great, regardless. We are all going to buy it and play it. So quit with the bitching and moaning. The first mass effect trilogy was great, in its own right. It is time for something new, and I made peace with the Andromeda thing when it was, quite frankly, blatantly predictable long ago.

More on topic: I'm sure the "far away and long after" comment is irrelevant. If you watch thr trailer, the tech is more or less the same, with exception of FTL which is probably over dramatized just like the original trailer for Mass Effect 1.

More likely, the "far away and way in the future" will be explained by a temporal link to the past...most predictably by the explorers of Andromeda getting there via an ark ship with stasis pods, I would imagine.

It's not surprising. Although I'm still wondering how they're going to treat the synthesis ending. I don't care how much later it is or how far away it goes... glowing green circuits under the skin is an issue. It's not the ending that I pick, but it's gonna be harder to wave off than "the Reapers turned blue and flew away" or "oops the geth are all dead."

What reason is there to resolve anything?  The trilogy is over. What it is, is and has now gone to rest.

What reason is there to revive a year dead thread just ton say thins when there are active threads discussing it already?

I know people like to revive dead threads, but this is just ridiculous.

This thread is worse than Shepard.

At least he had the wherewithal to wait two years before he came back.
