This mean no remaster?

Now that Xbox One will have BC, it'd basically just be for PS4 people (or those wanting all DLC packaged in). They might have concluded it isn't worth it. Or, it might still be coming, but since MEA is Holiday 2016 they have plenty of time to announce it.
Either way, I can now safely start another series playthrough.

I was really hoping to hear about a remastered trilogy despite the news of backwards compatibility.

This is ea. If their is a chance to get more money out of fans...they would do it. This does not mean a remaster is not coming

Chances are, if you have say a 4000 or 5000 cpu from intel you could easily play Mass Effect trilogy at 1080p and 60 FPS, even with integrated intel HD graphics. So... Yeah.

Eh, all things considered, I think that the trilogy has aged considerably well, even ME1, despite the clunky gameplay. I honestly don't see much point in having it "remastered" except to consolidate all of the games on a single system. For myself, I intend to keep my PS3 until it's dead so it doesn't matter. Not sure that I'd care to pay so much after nearing the end of my burnout cycle with the original games.
