Well, it was as i hoped. Guess they can't please everyone.

I'm glad they are taking us somewhere new and leaving all the baggage from 3 games behind.

Similar gameplay, mechanics and lore are enough for me.

See I am sad that they even had that amount of baggage that they had to leave it behind. Three games full of characters, lore and stories should not be "baggage" they should not be something that you cant wait to get rid off. They should be a foundation, a solid start for whatever comes next. And I am not happy with the fact that they even had to invent something like that to continue the game series in any possible way.

I'm thinking now we're never gonna find out what was wrong with that sun that Tali was studying.

Well, I don't think it's 100% impossible. Presumably the accumulation of dark energy due to eezo use is a universal problem rather than galactic.

After DAI I won't be preordering any Bioware game ever again...or buying at all until after it has been out a LONG time and hopefully fixed/complete. I'll get them after they hit the bargain bin.

I don't care if they don't want to put the Milky Way in the game.  That isn't make or break for me.  I haven't seen new info today, but from what I understand it takes place during the events of ME3?  ME3 had some time there.

I look forward to playing the game once it hits the bargain bin.

I was making a joke.

I know but its a bit close to the truth, dont you agree?

I'm not that excited either. I'm still open to playing, but feel a bit deflated. That Reddit leak sounded lame... I was hoping reality would be different.

Me too, but at the same time I knew that apart from redoing the last bit of ME3 they would always end up with something like that. It was inevitable. I just hope the guys who came up with the bright idea for ME3's end are going to stay far away from the game.

I don't mind. I'm happy I can be a human female. I'm happy the series didn't get cancelled after ME3 ... issues. I'm happy to see an improved engine and great new game mechanics (how we find resources and how we move between planets).

jump jet is mighty fine too!

Those are all good points but for me the ME games were always more about the plot, about the story than the mechanics.

No, quite on the contrary I am going to wait until the game gets either completed or someone posts an in-depth review. And considering you know absolutely nothing about me then please reserve your unwarranted judgement for someone else. And if you do not want to talk about the game then this thread is not for you.

I just hoped ME would turn into the modern Star Wars. Its a shame when there are just enough faults with it to prevent that.

Anyway I am off to bed, its 0111 here

ME2 and ME3 were super fun to play. The story just meandered off into a mess. I welcome a broad new galaxy after that railroad of disappointment.

ME1 is definitely a "top three of all time" game for me.

Star Wars is the modern Star Wars.

I still overall prefer ME to Star Wars based on the general setting and aesthetic. It's close, though.

I was joking.  :(  I know 18 posts isn't much, but i'm not a troll or anything, if you'd look at my previous posts.

On Topic: I think you should wait a little bit before writing it off your "Must Have" list, especially if you're worried about where the developers will "screw you over." We don't have that many details on the game really, but I would hope and expect that the Devs will try and avoid the **** storm of the ME3 ending and learn from their mistakes. I agree with you that I also hope they don't pull the "UNBEATABLE" enemy force thing again, it would just get compared to the Reapers, and be a bit samey. I'm hoping for a smaller scale of story for the new one, especially if there's a lot of exploring, rather than the big "Save the Galaxy" story.

You should never pre-order any game! Check out reviews, listen to peoples opinions, check out a twitch stream, see if it has something for you.

And yes they should move on from the Milky Way and the trilogy. It is to many variables to handle, and it became a mess at the end of ME3. The characters was solid all the way through, but the galaxy state and lore, ugh. I am hoping for a more personal story now, make it feel like it is about us, not the galaxy! DO IT!

We still have N7, Asasri, Krogan, Mass Effect Tech, and so on. I don't see how they are abandoning their foundation.  They are simply not continuing the story of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Its just one trailer folks. Let's not despair or get too excited for that matter. In a few months we'll have a better idea of what the gameplay is going to look like and what the story is going to be. As for the restart, well the original Mass Effect was once new too.  I really don't see what else there is to say about the Shepard story that isn't better served in a fanfic at this point.  I'm ready for a new story and new stakes, and as I said, we are still a few months away from really getting an idea of what that looks like.

I'm glad we're cutting ties to whatever happened in the end of that trilogy, Bioware is really on uncharted territory now. I don't know if this game will ever capture what I think is the Mass Effect spirit. Judging from the trailer it doesn't feel like the Mass Effect I fell in love with whatsoever, but perhaps it will reach a good status on its own when we get to play it.

But so far... I'm not really feeling it. The trailer had a lot of the things I hate about Bioware's own perception of what makes Mass Effect great: Badass, rule of cool, omniblades, dubstep sounds, overdesigned armors... MEH! The only redeeming factor was the Vigil cue at the end but it was interrupted by a dubstep-y sound and that is just a metaphor for what I think this whole thing will become.

On the contrary, it's like DA:I. It had the worst, most bland trailer ever at its first E3, then we got some intriguing bits upon release, it came out with good first impressions and mixed to terrible lasting impressions.

Yeah, I'll go with "MEH" for now. It may change, or it may not.

I'm personally happy with the distance being put between Andromeda and the previous trilogy. It's a good way of getting the new protagonist out of Shepard's shadow, clean slate and all that.

The setting itself was always one of the biggest reasons I loved this franchise. The fact that it was a sci-fi fantasy yet still set in a somewhat contemporary setting or vision of the future in 170~ years from now, Earth is there, Mars is there, but aliens and alien worlds... it was just such a unique and interesting take on sci-fi and sadly a lot of that is gone for sure now. It's going into much more... uh... high-SciFi setting now.

Oh well. If it's smart about it I will absolutely still like it... but about that... >_>
