Sometimes fans are truly the epitome of annoying. (In general)

lol! Pretty much.  They hated the endings but they want BW to focus on them?

This is why BW shouldn't bend over backwards pleasing fans and just make the game the way they feel it should be made.

Some quotes about fans in general

"...I think there’s a great cautionary tale here about what happens when you listen to the fans. Because the hardcore followers of any franchise, Star Trek or otherwise, who make the most noise are generally the ones most bogged down by their own personal hang-ups and obsessions, and therefore the least capable of knowing what would make for a good story."
The Agony Booth on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, "Resurrection"external_link.gif

"You have the movie people on one side, concerned that you didn't render Gollum's left buttock in accordance with the style guide, and on the other the long-standing fanboys meaningfully sharpening the impractically large replica sword. It's like trying to pull on an all-black nativity play for a fundamentalist christian and a militant atheist—both holding megaphones."

I can relate with OP, a lot. But i'm not really ready to write the game off either.

It's disappointing that such a huge part of what made me love the games in the first place is taking a backseat(at best), but you never now, it might turn out great anyway.

At least i'll put it out of my mind in a couple of days until the next E3 and i don't have to go around being hyped for a game that's so far away.

People seem to misunderstand me a lot, I didn't write the game off, I am not saying its going to be terrible I am just saying that while I knew this is the most likely thing to happen I still feel a bit disappointed and sad that we are leaving behind the Milky Way and what happened in ME3 as it is.

I agree. I don't know, but it seems like laziness on the part of BioWare, not wanting to deal with the complicated ending of ME3. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope they have a really good plan for the future of the Mass Effect Universe. However, I'm worried that they haven't actually thought this all the way through. They could have found a way to deal with the ending, and that would've been the more responsible thing to do, in my opinion.

See I am sad that they even had that amount of baggage that they had to leave it behind. Three games full of characters, lore and stories should not be "baggage" they should not be something that you cant wait to get rid off. They should be a foundation, a solid start for whatever comes next. And I am not happy with the fact that they even had to invent something like that to continue the game series in any possible way.

Look at this way - the trilogy from which so many people derived so much pleasure shall remain unspoiled and untouched by anything they might do in the future.

They allowed us to make decisions that would affect not only the entire galaxy, but the existence and future of several different species within that galaxy. In the end, they gave us a set of narrated slides with some vague ideas about what might happen next, and invited us to draw our own conclusions.

I don't know about you, but I expect I'll continue to play the trilogy from time to time for many years to come. So long as you have a compatible platform, the MEU trilogy will be there for you to enjoy. And you can do so knowing that your decisions and headcanon will not be overwritten by new material.

I understand a lot of people don't want to leave a world they've come to love, a world in which they've invested a great deal of time and emotion - but it's been said that you really can't go home. Those old familiar places people are anxious to revisit? They were all changed by the reaper invasion and ensuing war. They wouldn't - or shouldn't - be all that familiar anymore, anyway.

The world was established with histories and conflicts built-in. Bioware has told the stories they wanted to tell in that world, and addressed the major conflicts.

So - I guess I'm happy to know the trilogy is something I can continue to play and enjoy, and look forward to new adventures served up on a clean platter.

They already call attention to the endings by conspicuously leaving the galaxy.

In any case, they could at least do it in a way that doesn't involve yet more space magic.

Yeah 'cause we totally need another ME3.

It's kind of funny, but when a fanbase refers to something they love, we use the term universe to embody everything about said product we love. We love the Star Wars universe, I love the Kingdom Hearts universe. This game is still in the Mass Effect universe, about as literal as you can get. MWG and AG are in the same universe, it's still the same world we've all come to love and love to hate.

The only thing the Milky Way and Andromeda shares in the Mass Effect universe are the laws of physics and a barycenter.
