Liara popping up in Andromeda would probably make me go into a coma from shock, people say she was featured too much in the original games but for her to turn up in a completely different galaxy would be crazy. As much as i'd love Garrus and Tali to turn up in the new games, I don't think any of the Squadmates will appear in the new games.

I hope we do get a fully new squad this time, I loved the old teammates don't get me wrong but i think its time for a fresh start. We very well could get a new Asari squadmate just as great as Liara.

Are you kidding? Not enough charming Liara was practically the main romance (and the most popular) so I think she got her time in the original trilogy.

I'm very open to familiar faces (depending on when the story takes place and etc), but not Liara's.

She has been shoved enough in our faces. No thanks. I'd prefer no old squadmates in the new game.

Practically, she has the best odds of appearing in the new game due to her young age and long lifespan.  I won't say I'm necessarily opposed to her appearing, but if she does I think it should at most be a small cameo and continuity nod.  Shepard's journey should be nothing more than background info.  His squad completed their mission and now it's time for a new set of characters to take center stage.

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind a small cameo if it makes sense, but nothing more.

I'd love to see Liara return so long as she isn't a companion, the game is set in Council space during the course of her natural lifespan, she is either still the Shadow Broker or has returned to a life as a scientist and academic, and there are solid story reasons for the new protagonist to cross paths with her. 

 

Having said all of the above, since the new game is set in Andromeda I think having Liara return would feel forced. It might even violate previous canon, if it turns out that the characters get to Andromeda on an ark ship that departs during the course of ME3. I think a Liara cameo would probably only make sense in Council space.

 

Not saying it wouldn't be great just for the BSN reaction. I can almost hear the favored LI complaints now, accompanied by the sounds of a sad violin....
