What shall become of these races? Did these races take the journey with us or were they left behind and won't appear in Andromeda? Can we expect a whole new variety of Alien races to mingle with or will Bioware take the lazy route and just feature native versions of the old races that for some reason exist in Andromeda as well?
Asari, Turian, Salarian, Krogan, Drell, Elcor, Hanar, Batarian, Drell.

Well, there's a krogan in the trailer. The in-engine stuff from last year's E3 I'm pretty sure had a blurry turian in it. A dev confirmed next-gen salarians in a tweet months ago. You can be sure the Asari will return.
As for the other races, not sure. I really hope all the original races return as well as new ones.

First it should be Species not Races.
Anyways I suspect that they will be around in Andromeda.
The one I am most concened about are the geth and Quarians since you could kill either of them in ME3.

That trailer is little more than a tech demo. Best wait and see in future reveals.

Which trailer? The one just shown? I doubt they'd go to the effort of making the assets for a krogan if the krogan weren't going to be in the game.

It would be great if the Rachni exist there, and they never went extinct. They would be an interesting race to interact with.
We definitely didn't get to see enough of them in the original trilogy, and we never got to interact with "normal" rachni apart from the queen.

I agree with Dextro. It's Not like they're deciding now to bring the old races back. The krogan's presence in Two E3 (plus apparently in a trailer shown to the whole development team) means they already decided to bring them back.Which trailer? The one just shown? I doubt they'd go to the effort of making the assets for a krogan if the krogan weren't going to be in the game.
Plus, While Not confirmed, but likely At thai point, the leak

Bartarians... Maybe. Though as much rough parts they been through, Reapers included, I'll be surprised they weren't driven to near extinction.

If there is one race you don't want to take with you on a long voyage across the universe it is the Yagh, probably named after what the first words the first person to discover them uttered when they first saw them.
Besides the Yagh are fine, far as I can remember their civilization had not advanced far enough to be considered ripe for the reaping so they were left relatively untouched.

What, the Volus don't even deserve a mention in the thread title? ![]()
Also, I demand female drell and/or turian LIs for Mass Effect: Andromeda. No more of this "Humans, Asari or Tali" business for the dude!Protagonist.

If they got to Andromeda on an ark that set out because of the Reaper War, at the very least I'd expect all of the major Council races to be present, if not all the minor as well.

Asari were mostly wiped out, but the survivors are long lived enough to likely have repopulated.
Drell, Batarians would have become extinct by now.
Krogan are in the same boat as Asari, only their homeworld went largely untouched by comparison.
Salarians came out relatively unscathed.
Turians are mostly stranded on Earth with the humans.
I can see the Migrant Fleet, well....migrating to Andromeda.

The thing about the asari is that just about any population is a viable one, by virtue of their parthenogenesis wonder breeding.
As for the drell, I can't imagine that the hanar would permit them to go extinct, unless the hanar join them.
The batarians could be done for though, because who the hell would even care to help them XD
