As long as there is a female Quarian love interest, even if she's the last of her race, I don't mind! I'm sure there will be the typical Turian, Asari and Salarians, plus a few new races, obviously, since it's a new galaxy!

I think it's pretty granted that there will be new species, since "whole new galaxy" and all that. Both asari and krogan are logically good choices (and I read rumours of latter appearing in footage material). Salarians, I guess, are in too and I definitly hope for turians (since I just love them). Batarians were mostly finished of in ME3 regardless of ending, so they aren't as likely as others to appear.

What I would like to know is how and why we are at Andromeda, since it also affects chances of old alien species appearing (like was this some kind of secret Ark-project in case of losing Milky Way to Reapers, for example).

There were about 20 millions of quarians in 2180, there are 50 millions of south koreans in our time. I'm not even speaking that they are in Schrodinger's story box after geth-quarian decision in ME3. So yeah, they are first candidates to go.

Batarians got all their homeworlds destroyed and nobody liked them anyway, so they are most likely left behind.

Elcors. Ended up meaningless and mostly ignored. Good bye.

Hanars-drells are questionable. They got some fans, but their species didn't contribute anything to story of Milky Way.

Krogans may suffer some serious damage in ME3, but they are quite iconic for ME. And already confirmed anyway.

Salarians had less attention than other council races, but still were important. Confirmed as well, if I'm not mistaking.

Asari and turians are core ME aliens, no doubt about them.

This is probably the only species whose disappearance from the franchise would make me legitimately mad, I always felt there were so many missed opportunities to flesh them out, especially in ME3 where their species was hit the hardest by the Reapers and a batarian squadmate would have made perfect sense.

That's also the reason I hope they're playing a more prominent role in ME:A. More than most other species, theirs needs to find a new home and has to struggle with making up for what they lost in the reaper war. The Hegemony is basically destroyed and they're at the verge of a new beginning and that could just as well take place in Andromeda. I could definitely see a big enough Group of Batarians seeing their future in that galaxy instead of the one where everything they had built over the centuries has just been destroyed.

At the moment I'm concerned that the Geth/Quarians will get the short end of the stick and not appear at all.

It will be incredibly annoying, especially because the Krogan are confirmed to appear. If Quarians/Geth aren't there because of the players choice in ME3 then why are the Krogans there? And I really don't need Wrex/Grunt 2.0.

It seems like we will at least have Krogans based on trailer and survey.

I agree on the Krogan-Geth/quarian situation. I don't agree on the last phrase :P. I liked Both krogans, Who were very different From each other. I like the fact we might get another one.

Because krogans didn't recall all roaming krogans back to Tuchanka before suicidal attack.

Because krogans have immune system and can work in very harsh enviroment, which apparently makes them better colonists.

Because no cure for genophage is not equal full anihilation.

On the other hand Ark ship will be most likely assembled before these decisions, so meta reasons might be more important.

It's implied that this games takes places hundreds of years after the events of ME3.

I know that the Krogan are long lived but we are still talking about a significant amount of time.

I doubt they could have Krogans appear in any significant capacity without addressing whether or not the species is on the brink of extinction.

Krogans live almost as long as asari, it's just their way of life that kills them, there was thousand years old warlord, remember. So first krogan colonists should be alive at the moment of MEA.

I tend to believe that issue of genophage will be solved in Andromeda separately. Like mutation caused by new alien viruses.

I'm hoping for more Drells and Salarians and no Quarians.

I'm also not very interested in more Asari or Krogan, but I'm sure there will be plenty of both, unfortantely.

I want more Turians and Krogan, anything else is just window dressing for me. Salarians would be fun, too, but there's only one mordin.

If not, I'm done with the series. There is no reason to create these awesome races (which we hardly got to see all of them)only to throw them away in this game. But of course humanity will be front and center, the one race we got way too much of in the original trilogy. If the leak is true, and this game is all about humanity finding a new home, I'm done. Three games about the Mary Sue's of the galaxy was more than enough.

The leak mention other races having their own colonization ship. The to is is on humanity because the PC is human.

I'm adamant we're gonna see all of the key races from the trilogy and some new ones in this, although given this is set out to be an exploration into a new galaxy I'm guessing we're not gonna see as many faces this time.

lolno

The drell are just as if not rarer than the quarians and they can equally go extinct if you don't save the Hanar homeworld in Bau's mission. It's an even worse problem than the quarians (due to exiles) or geth (due to sheer numbers). Even if they weren't among the most numerous species in the terminus, plenty of batarians made it out of Hegemony space because we still see them everywhere and can even recruit an entire fleet's worth of them. Ending slides could show Tuchanka ruled by the bugs with krogan extinct, yet that has been retconned with no problem. Hell, Earth is barbecued in low EMS destroy, which would render humans an endangered species as well.

There's no reason at this point for any species to disappear because of potential story permutations, except for biower writer laziness.

Asari, Turian, and Salarian races are a safe bet. They make up the council races. Krogan were confirmed by the leak.

The big ones will be Geth and Quarians.

Yes yes, the entire galaxy magically teleported to Andromeda, and ME:A is about us taking over that galaxy, because for some reason we humans and such can get there, but the Reapers who are vastly more advanced never bothered with other galaxies on their holy save-organics-from-synthetics quest.  ~rolls~

Such a dumb story concept...it boggles the mind...andromeda.....  smh

Uh now I'm worried if some races will go extint cause Bioware can't save all the races without retcons of ME3 and players choices there.

I hope we can at least see Drells in the ME:A.. and geth and quarians are within my few species as well. Auch.

Krogan being confirmed is already a retcon and slap to the face of anyone who saved rachni and sabotaged the genophage. The concept of entire races composed of millions to billons of beings getting rendered extinct by single R-B choices was stupid anyway, and I'm glad they've already shown a willingness to ignore it.
