(5) Romancable Salarian STG

Confirmed. You can romance the entire Salarian STG. (although calling it a "romance" may stretch things a bit.)

That's- not the only thing getting stretched when you romance an entire military force.

I already posted this list once, but here's my picks:

1).  Human male.  Marine.  Lieutenant Fresh out of the Academy.  Engineer.  Think Jenkins, with a dash of Kaidan and James Vega thrown in.  This is his first mission, but he's got a Mindoir type background to drive him, so he's not as fresh faced as he might seem on the surface, but he has that Alenko romantic outlook on space and the future from ME1.  Bisexual Romance.

2).  Human Female.  Marine.  Mid-thirties.  Combat Veteran with an archive of "No S***" stories.  Soldier.  Basically, a female Zaeed with *less* facial scaring.  Collects My Little Ponies dolls.  Likes pink, flowers, and anything girly.  Anytime you approach her for conversation, there's a 50/50 chance she'll be field stripping a gun that could hole a tank, or reading some sappy romance novel with a box of tissues.  Bisexual Romance.

3).  Turian Female.  Former Scout/Recon.  Mouthy.  Cool.  Death Incarnate with a Sniper Rifle.  Infiltrator.  Basically, a female version of Garrus, crossed with Black Widow from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  Bisexual Romance.

4).  Turian Male.  Biotic Cabalist.  Vanguard.  Former Spectre who said to hell with it and walked away.  Older, grizzled.  Visible Scars, a cybernetic arm, a cybernetic eye, and a mandible that's either missing the front half, or has it visibly replaced with cybernetics.  This guy has seen the Elephant, and got trampled, repeatedly.  Think, a less indoctrinated Saren, who isn't a racist bigot, but who's seen every rotten thing the galaxy has to offer.  Bitter and disaffected with the Hierarchy.  Bisexual Romance.

5).  Female Krogan Warlord.  1600 Hundred years old.  Biotic.  Sentinel.  Thoughtful.  Intelligent.  Fantastic sense of human.  A fondness for poetry, and a keen interest in history and spirituality.  Fought along side Shiagur in the Krogan Rebellions.  A mix of Samara, Bakara and Ashley Williams.  Non-Romance.

6).  Asari Commando.  Adapt.  Matriarch.  She's nearly 1200 years old, and she's seen and done it all.  She's raised daughters, fought wars, loved, lost, grieved and got better.  She also watched her daughters, grand daughters, and even great grand daughters fed into the grinder of the Reaper War, and doesn't much like to think about how many of them didn't come back.  A mix of Aethyta and Purple Fem!Hawke.  Female only Romance.

7). Drell Male.  Sentinel.  Not dying of Kepral's Syndrome.  Trained spy, assassin and saboteur.  Resents the Hanar, and considers the compact the de facto enslavement of his people.  Has a completely different philosophical outlook than Thane, and a different religion.  Male only Romance.

8).  Salarian Female.  Soldier.  Former STG.  20 years old.  Completely disaffected with Salarian Culture.  Think absolutely hates the practice of deliberately keeping down the numbers of Salarian females.  Effectively told her family to stick it right up their Chloaca when they wanted her to spend her life as a brood mare.  Went on to serve with distinction in the STG, before the political pull of her family lead her to walk away from Salarian culture altogether.  Non-Romance.

9).  Volus Female.  Vanguard.  Marine Major in the Volus Defense Force.  Absolutely having none of your BS.  Can, and will kick your posterior right up around your ears.  She's an absolutely brilliant business woman.  Fantastically rich due to how well she manages her investments.  But finds it terribly boring and would most rather be out on the front lines cutting a bloody swath though pirates, slavers, geth, Reapers, or anything else she's given permission to kill.  She's a Krogan Battle Master who got reincarnated as a Volus, but kept the blood rage and the love of Mayhem.  Wields a customized, double barrel, fully automatic Claymore that can not be unequipped.  It's named Tethas'Var.  Likes to tell Stories.  Non-Romance.

Pilot).  Human Female.  Cybernetic Arm and leg and facial scaring on the right side.  Former fighter pilot.  She got jumped by pirates while flying CAP for a human carrier.  Managed to cover the carrier long enough for them to scramble fighters, but took one to many hits.  Managed to land her bird, but got maimed in a cockpit fire before the deck crew could cut her out of the wreck.  Transferred to ship helms because military regs prevent pilots from flying fighters if they have cybernetic limbs.  Cheerful, good sense of humor.  Incredibly Smart.  Female Only Romance.

Executive Officer).  Human Male.  A bit on the young side.  Smart, fast thinking.  A bit cynical, and defensive because of his age.  Really good at his job to have reached his rank so young.  Career navy.  Grew up on space ships, and thinks planets are completely gross germ factories.  Female Only Romance.

Doctor).  Human Female.  Attractive.  Sarcastic.  Thinks you're an idiot for letting yourself get shot at all the time.  Morrigan in a medical uniform.  Male Only Romance.

Ship's Psychiatrist).  Male.  Old as dirt.  Facial scars that make Hackett and Zaeed wince.  Former N7 operative.  Retired after getting caught in an explosion, went to medical school, then specialized in psychiatric care, with a focus on combat related PTSD.  Non-Romance

Comm Specialist).  Human Male.  Owen from Gargoyles.  Stares at you blankly, silently judging you when you try to flirt.

What I'm hoping to have:

Male Drell: Younger drell (compared to Thane), doesn't suffer from terminal disease and doesn't respect Hanars that much. Outgoing and brash, lives for himself. Maybe tomb raider/treasure hunter for his profession. Screws up a lot, but never stops trying.

Female turian: battle hardened and righteous soldier, follows Turian's ideals. Is bit perfectionist, gets upset if things don't work out like she thought they would.

Female/male salarian: Who is more home in battlefield than lab, but still has salarian characteristic that we know like talking a lot.

Male quarian: Who is bad with tech. Middle of his pilgrimage.

Hanar: Though Hanars can't fight or at least well I think, Drells do that for them. So maybe someone who stays on ship, scientist or shopkeeper maybe. I would like Male Drell companion to have little quarrel with Hanar, since Drells are excepted to serve Hanars, maybe can even see as slavery, and tomb raider Drell doesn't want to respect something that happened hundreds/thousand years ago.

Male (/female? have we seen any?) Batarian: That still resents humans and doesn't easily want to work with PC. Might betray PC at some point if they don't have his approval high enough.

Male (/female? have we seen any?) Volus: Either biotic or expert of weapons. Little cowardly.

Male (/female? have we seen any?) Vorcha: Cause much aren't know of them other that they seem pretty primitive as race, but maybe they have evolved with time as species.

No need for human squad members :P

Going to repost an old list I made.

My ideal crew:

A male Krogan scientist- You read it right! A krogan scientist like the one we met in ME2 on Tuchanka. Ideally this guy would be like any other Krogan (fierce and warrior like) however also knowledgeable about science and tech with a krogan view on it. He has a dark and gritty humor. Combat-wise is a combination of tech and warrior abilities. He get along well with a pragmatic and not idealist protagonist. This way is a little bit different from Wrex while retaining his awesomeness.

A "female" Asari commando - How to make this Asari not like Liara? Well she is military, she is ruthless, she believe in efficiency and get the mission done no matter the cost. She is sarcastic, sometimes a btch but in the end loyal to the cause. Combat wise she is the pure biotic with a focus on offensive powers. She respects a ruthless protagonist, however maybe you can soften her during the game. A cool asari just to weaken the stereotypes. She gets along well with the Krogan.

A female Turian soldier - I really liked Nyreen from Omega and I think we need someone like her in the next game. She is the direct opposite of the Asari. She is loyal, fierce and respect honor in war. Very idealistic she is a capable soldier but prefer diplomacy if possible. Combat wise it's the typical tank. Heavy weapons and armors is her way to go. A pure soldier. She gets along with the protagonist hero type and not with the Asari and the Krogan.

A male Salarian engineer - I was thinking about a tech-wise salarian who can use computers and such. He is a professional soldier but during the mission he tries to lighten up the situations with jokes and appropriate humor, often poking others squadmembers. Combatwise he is a pure tech guy. A fun person, he is neutral as alignment with a tendency towards paragon decisions. He goes well with the turian, so-so with Krogan (quarreling between those two is a must) and not too well with the Asari (she thinks this guy is an idiot).

A male Quarian soldier - This is a good guy with a scoundrel attitude, he is known for petty theft and tend to be the guy who support getting more money after each quest is done.Combatwise he is a mixture of combat and tech abilities. He is focused on the mission and for the greater good when he realize the stakes are too high. A sort of Varric in quarian form. He goes along well with the Salarian, the Turian (she however dislike his thefts and little lies). He goes ok with the Krogan but not ok with Asari.

A female human technician - She is the sniper/tech type. She is leaning towards good and respect the chain of command. She is a good and brave soldier and respect honesty and moral behaviour but she can also understand (unlike the turian) that the world is not black or white but shades of grey. Combat.wise she is a sniper with tech powers. She goes well with everyone unless you are ouright ruthless and she does not abide this behaviour.

A male human biotic/soldier - He is the biotic soldier. Combatwise he is a mixture of combat and biotic powers (his biotic are more defensive). He is a cynical guy, he suffered a difficult youth but managed to get where he is now despite everything.  He is pragmatic a tad cynical and is ok with doing what must be done to achieve the mission. He goes well with asari, the krogan and the other female human.

Whatever we'll end up getting, I want characters that break from the usual stereotypes.

I don't want:

- krogan puncher

- salarian scientist/spy

- quarian tech specialist

- drell assassin

I'd much rather have something like:

- krogan scientist

- salarian biotic specialist

- quarian enforcer

- drell mechanic

People keep hoping for quarian squadmate. Hehehe.

Anyway I'd like to see two archtypes.

Sarcastic, rude and generally insensitive character which works with PC because there is just no other option.

Someone personally loyal to you, maybe even agressively loyal triggering on any sign of disrespect so you'll have to calm her/him down. Character to stroke my virtual ego, yeah.

Anything else I'll just wait and see.

. . .But yeah, I have no interest in this type of game (forum game) in regards to Andromeda as I find myself disappointed with how commonplace leaks are in the modern day. Maybe they are not true, but I just don't feel like hyping for this game as much as I wish could. . .for the single-player at least, don't get me started on hyping for the multiplayer!

IMO they are not going heavy with new races squadmates. It's a very tricky moment for the franchise where they should convince their fanbase the game is still ME even though on a different galaxy. The best way to do that is to keep plenty of old races around including the majority of squadmates, while using the game to offer the opportunity to present these new races. Maybe one/two squadmates are going to be new races but I doubt that it's more than that.

Subsequently I can see their numbers increasing in the next games as the franchise is stable once again.

Anti-Mordin Salarian of either gender.

Female Turian.

Anti-Thane male Drell who I can hopefully romance with a male PC.

Plenty of humans. I'd prefer they be approximately be 50% of our squadmates rather than going overboard with the alien menagerie thing.

And last but not least, I'd like it to be a Quarian-free zone (aka space Dalish).

My favorite part. The characters.

What do you expect to see and what are you hoping to see?

Off the top of my head, I'd like a species we haven't seen before with a twist on the characteristics and perspectives that we have, like a telepath/empath who isn't an Asari.

I'd also like another hardened mercenary veteran.

Hi

First of all can u rename the topic, Companion instead of Squad members, so we can talk about companion suche as Diana Allers, Doctor Charkwass, Traynor and such. Plus Inquisition offer more with Josephine, Leliana, Cullen.

In the video we can already noticed a female (allien, robot) companion and a krogan ???

1:27 - u will see a few companions for about a second. The female armor is very thin to be a human armor.

I would like to see more than squad members and friends in the cities, people that can provide informations offer a drink and with who u can be close or fall in love with.

70% of human squad members.

I'm not so sure that we've seen squad members in that video.  I would have agreed, but the fact that they were specific that the 'main character' of the trailer isn't the PC kind of changes the game a bit.  Perhaps they are part of his crew and not the PC's crew?  They might very well end up being our crew members, but I'm just pointing out that they might not be as well.

Can we talk about the leak here?  I'll spoiler tag it just in case:

Well spoken and mannered human female. Someone with Josephine or Samantha Traynor's etiquette and kindness, but with Wynne's motherly instincts. Probably a Sentinel specializing in defensive tech/biotics. Daughter of a warmongering morally grey pirate/admiral.

I'd like to see a Salarian/Krogan duo. Maybe a knock off of Rocket and Groot. Cliche, but whatever I'd enjoy the hell out of it.

Xenophobic Asari. Almost all Asari are seen as socially inclusive. I'd like to see one that thinks the other races are inferior to her. She'd probably end up being your standard ice queen.

Those were the first three ideas that came to my mind.

Also I'd love to hear a Lambert(Witcher 3 character) Turian discussing how crappy Turian society is. The sarcasm and snark would be great.

Here are a few squadmembers that I would like to see:

Male Batarian Engineer – a somewhat stubborn, rude person who frequently second-guesses you for your decisions and has a gripe for humanity in general, mainly because he’s afraid that human colonization will once again hinder the batarian progression, even in Andromeda. Apart from these old interspecies grudges he’d be extremely passionate about exploring and claiming new worlds in Andromeda in order to build a new home for his people and he definitely knows his shite better than anyone else, so he’ll be an essential part of the team and has a base for questioning and maybe even rivaling you as a leader.

Male Human Biotic – I’d like to finally have a male human squadmate that isn’t boring or in some way the template “normal guy/soldier”. Kaidan, Jacob and Vega all had that problem imo and Zaeed wasn’t a very fleshed out character. I’d like him to be Asian (east Asian) if possible, since the ME series had way too few important Asian people so far – the only ones that spring to mind are Kai Leng (ugh), Kasumi (DLC), Kahoku (ME1 sidequest) and Emily Wong (sidecharacter who got killed offscreen). Personality is more important though and I’d like for him to maybe have a very strong believe in something, maybe a newly founded religion or a certain philosophy that makes him want to join the PC’s cause. Maybe something a little more controversial than what the other male human squadmates gave us in the series so far.

Female Turian Soldier – I had originally hoped that Cora is a turian, but if it’s really her we saw I the trailers she’s apparently a human, so we need another turian character. We’ve seen very few female ones so far, so it should be a woman and I’d like for her to be combat-trained, capable and extremely calm, held-back and levelheaded, ambitious and on the long run focused on her own rise in the ranks (of whatever kind of force she’s with). She should have some very intricate and sophisticated thoughts about your mission and actions, but only when directly asked for them or if she has insights that are absolutely relevant for the mission at hand.

New Alien species – Naturally I can’t go into much detail here, since we know nothing about them yet.

In general I’d like to see no human squadmates apart from Cora and one male human and to also have a variety of species among your general crew. I could live without another Asari, quarian or AI in the Team, but I'd like to see a female Krogan or an Elcor fighting alongside us, eventhough I didn't have any spontaneous ideas for their personalities.

I'd like a switch on the morality of the human male and female squadmate. Unlike Kaidan/Jacob "the nice moral guy" and Ashley/Miranda "the ruthless one", I'd like the female human to be more idealistic and the male human to be more pragmatic. Could definitely work for a hardened military veteran. I thought a renegade femShep was lacking like-minded romances.

Female turian. It would be interesting to have one that isn't a rebellious turian like Garrus, but instead is fairly typical of her society. At least on the surface. I would kind of like the equivalent of Farscape's Aeryn Sun in a turian. Especially if she was voiced by Claudia Black (in Australian accent??), oh my. ^_^

Quarian male. I like quarians, so I'm hoping they're still around. I think this character would be an amazing chance to show how the quarian society has changed since Shepard's time. They have a homeworld now instead of a Migrant Fleet. Do they still wear suits and visors? Just the suit? Normal clothes with a similar style? How do they feel about AI now? How are their immune systems? To further distance from Tali, I'd like him to be male and not an engineer.

If we have an asari, I hope she's in a role similar to Sam/Joker/Steve. She would still have a strong story presence, character development and maybe be a romance, but doesn't need to rehash the blue bisexual biotic we had with Liara (and to a much lesser extent, Samara and Morinth). I'd love a personality like Matriarch Aethytha though. A bit coarse and blunt, but funny.

I hope one of our biotics is not human/asari/krogan. Maybe we can explore how biotics are treated in other groups, especially where it's more rare, like salarians. Speaking of which, I'd love a salarian again. They're so cute. Even the 'tough military' ones like Kirrahe.

A new alien species would be good for the ship, but they don't necessarily have to be on the ground team. Could just be an ambassador or something who's on the ship for a while, like Eve/Bakara or Raan. I wouldn't mind an AI for the ship, but it should remain ship-bound, not a squadmate. More interesting perspective, and more useful.

For romances, I'm hoping that the f/f alien romance isn't restricted to an asari again. Hopefully a 2/2/2 set-up, not all of them of them squadmates (personally I thought that worked well with advisors in DAI).

Hmm, I think a krogan asari would be nice. Though I'd really like a cyborg of any species asari, and I mean not like Shepard but full on cyborg, maybe something similar to Deus Ex. I bet we'll get squadmates of the new species asari and finally I think the classic asari would be nice.
