Just showing how awesome Cowboys can be ![]()
The leak had 7 squad members, 1 being a krogan and 1 a female (probably human or Asari). Only 5 spots left. I would hope many races that never made it into the squad would be in. Volus, Elcor & Hanar all have great potential as squadmates, even if their races started as "jokes". Enough lore has been added to have serious, engaging and complex characters from these races. A batarian would be great too.

I don't really think those 3 can really be companions from a combat perspective, would love to see a batarian companion though
A bartarian would be nice, but regardless of player choice, most of them were wiped out completely by the Reapers. If ME3 is anything to go by there isn't a lot of them left, and repopulating is going to be a pain in the butt. I would have also liked to see a bartarian squadmate, but the events between ME2 and ME3 put the kabosh on that. I'm open minded though.

I can see Volus, but Hanar and Elcor don't follow the skeletal system used by the other races in a gameplay sense. They'd have to put a good deal of custom work into them which is great. . .in theory, but if they put the same level of custom work into each I'd be disappointed.

Maybe Hanar, but Volus? Were already in MP, most of them look way more combat-suited than spandex-clad Miranda. Could be a great support class, like Kaidan in ME1 with healing/tech abilities. Elcor tanks are part of the lore and again, could be a great unique companion combat-wise, very durable but of course very slow.
Elcor can fight though.
Seeing as how their soldiers are described as "living tanks", I'm curious to see what an Elcor soldier would look like.
I know they can fight but from a gameplay view they wouldn't make the cut

They were also glass cannons and pretty much a gimmick for the MP

And a huge hit. They have great potential gameplay-wise and frankly, I wanna see all this "next-gen" getting used on something more than just prettier graphics. Like more unsual skeleton rigs for companions for example

That one might be a bit tricky especially for TPS
I'll think of squad composition later, but I am hoping there are more female characters to romance in this game than there were in DA:I.

You mean the two options like there always were minus ME2

I really mean that there seems to always be more males to romance. Even it out a little.

Always, eh? Okay.
<Moved the post to a romance thread, where this discussion belongs.>
I've personally found their attempts at darker characters--such as Jack and Zaeed--fell flat for me. I found Jack annoying and Zaeed boring. I enjoyed the ones comfortable in their own skins much more, like Wrex or Samara. I assumed that James would be a dull grunt, but I was surprised by how much I liked him.
Ah I have to agree with this. I removed Zaeed's DLC after recruiting him one playthrough; just found him super cliche and annoying. Jack, well, yeah, trying too hard. She even talks in slang in her written reports lol Come on, people don't write like they talk.
And yes to Wrex and Samara. And James
A surprisingly well-rounded character. I love that tattoo-scene ![]()

I think it has been pretty even...
DAO: even
DA2: 3 males/2 females
DA3: 6 males/2 females (agree that was effing ridiculous)
ME1: 1 male/2 females
ME2: 3 male/5 females (counting Chambers and Liar)
ME3: uhhh well this is hard b/c you can't romance Garrus if you didn't in ME2 but you can romance Kaidan and same with Ashley and Liara, and suddenly Jacob gets retconned and doesn't count anymore but does he, and Thane dies, so.
But all that aside, you are so much more f*cked (or actually not f*cked at all) if you're gay or lesbian. Cause then your numbers are like... 1/2/2 for DA series and 1(f-only)/2(f-only)/2 lol

As Nat elaborated really thoroughly, this is wildly false. DAI is absolutely the only Bioware game with more male LIs available to female character than there are female LIs available to make characters in the vanilla game, and then it's only if you're playing a specific breed of female character.
Any game prior to that with an imbalance of options, Like Baldur's gate and ME1? The imbalance provided more female love interests available to male PCs than any other demographic.
Just for the sake of peace, we might be wiser to move on. Do you have anything more specific you're hoping for?

Two out of three ain't bad.
Well, he's right. That's the reason why we almost never saw them moving around.
Sadly: I doubt we'll even see the Elcor.
Tentatively Hopeful: I could very well be wrong.

I like the Elcor, so there's no need for that. They aren't my favorite, but I honestly enjoyed the race in ME. Sorry, but my favorite ME race is Krogan. In DA, my favorite race is dwarves. I'm fine with playing a human in ME:A. Most of the time, it comes down to the fact that I am human and I don't play them in RPGs given a choice. For a series like ME, I have no issues though.
The Krogan companion must have a Charge Attack and shout "I AM KROGAN" while doing it.
