So much multi-quoting! In my defence, there's lots of interesting things being discussed in this thread.
Besides, with their love of "dark and edgy" romances for female characters, I'm sure we'll get the Nightcrawler option. Complete with a dead wife and an accidental murder born of a moment of rage/pain. They might even combine the two, and he'll have a dead wife that he would have accidentally killed. He'll look alien, but have disturbingly full lips.
I am reaaaaally hoping that nobody has a burning urge to tell me about their dead lover tragedy in MEA. Especially in a romance! The moment Thane started talking about his dead wife I just thought "nah, think I'll try one of the others first" in ME2. Particularly when he started having rather vivid flashbacks about her. You are definitely not alone in finding those a little... awkward! It's one reason I haven't gotten around to romancing Steve either.
"Let me help you get over your dead husband so we can make out." So romantic!
I'd rather a Vangaurd. Krogan shaman. We have seen many different kinds of Krogan but I want to get to know a spiritual leader of the Krogan better.
Oh, a shaman! I'd love that. I could listen to Eve/Bakara for hours, talking about the krogan practices and beliefs. She was also so wise and thoughtful, compared to the more aggressive krogan we've had on the team so far.
I'd be thrilled to have a version of Asari with both genders.
I kind of really want a male empath.
I thought Javik was a little like an empath with his touch-and-learn ability. I liked the fact that he could sense things about people who used to be on the ship, and kept having to wash his hands because he was getting a sensory overload. Perhaps less like empathy and more like sensing someone's state of being? I'd be interested in a real empath though!
Would something like DAI's Cole work for you as an empath, or would that be a bit much? He was rather socially inept too.
A bartarian would be nice, but regardless of player choice, most of them were wiped out completely by the Reapers. If ME3 is anything to go by there isn't a lot of them left, and repopulating is going to be a pain in the butt. I would have also liked to see a bartarian squadmate, but the events between ME2 and ME3 put the kabosh on that. I'm open minded though.
I really wanted to have a batarian squadmate before, to do for them what Dorian does for Tevinter. They can't all be enslaver terrorsts, right?
But I think I'm getting my hopes up enough by wanted a quarian squaddie again. Wanting a batarian too is just like setting myself up for heartbreak!
I'm all about the space cowboyish squad member. Malcolm Reynolds for ME companion, please.
Oh, yes please. I'd happily take any of Firefly's crew on board. Especially Wash as my new pilot.
