SP is all drama. Just put something out and focus on the MP Bioware.

This is the problem with the ME3 MP community. They are competitive. Like rabidly competitive. In a PVE game.

What a joke, PVE is not competitive. Get real.

This is a false statement.

Ugh make the MP forum already so we can get some decent threads in the real MEA forum.

If by 'decent' you mean threads people already talking about romances or people crying about a Johnny Cash song in a teaser trailer and saying it's going to be a terrible game,  a game that no body knows anything about at the moment, then by all means.....

Most people on these forums are fans of both SP and MP. Why else would anyone be here in the first place? If I'm more anxious about the MP content of the game than the SP, does that make me not a true fan? Or people that only play the MP are not true fans of the franchise? Hell, I've known people who have only played the MP first and then start getting into the trilogy later on because the characters and races they played in MP made them curious to learn more about what the world of Mass Effect was all about. What kind of fan is that?

I also keep seeing Call of Dookie being brought up. Not everyone that plays the ME3mp is COD fans. Like I said before, most people that play MP are fans of the SP to begin with, including myself. ME3mp and COD are both online multiplayers sure, but that's where the similarities end. ME3mp is nothing like COD.  Where else can you play as a krogan or turian and use biotics, tech powers, etc. and help your team and have fun? Also since being a co-op game it appealed to more people since not everyone wants to play against other players online.

Nah.  Most of the people fired up over Andromeda out there never even played MP.

That would be me...

Never even started the MP. Of course I am extremely uninterested in all non-local multiplayer. I don't even play Diablo as multiplayer.

^nope
If you can't do a sub 20 min plat solo, your opinion is invalid
also, I agree OP. I hate that stupid menu option in ME3 right above the real gamemode that takes me to the weird mode where I talk to people for days on end instead of just shooting them in the face to win. I just want to kill alien zombies and pwn n00bs, and the singleplayer mode gets in the way of that because it grossly clutters the main menu.
They should remove it, better to put the monies into the superior gamemode with the superior players.

They are still idiots

I'm here to apologize for calling you a "rabid drone". It was rude of my part.

Yours is one of the best ME3 threads, and I know you are a loyal fan.

But don't tell people you don't know they are idiots, CoD kiddies, etc. Most people I know from the ME3MP are intelligent people on the late 20s, early 30s (some much older than that) who have a solid opinion that MP should be as strong as SP, since many perceive a steady decline on BW stories' quality since DA2/ME3 (debatable, I know, but the point stands). Many just want a open world to travel, trade and sometimes, fight. I would love to roleplay as a old gritty Salarian, profecient with a Widow, veteran of many battles.

I'll stop posting here as well, because what initially was a humorous topic, degraded rapidly on name-calling, overdramatic BS, for a game 18 months upon launch.

If it were super competitive, all you would see are Geth Infiltrators with Piranha's and Armored Compartments. That isn't what you see, though. The MP lets you meet others in the community, play all but two species, lets you play all classes (I had never tried a biotics class before, because I think it's sacrilegious for Shepard to be a biotic) and gives you access to many more guns and powers than you'd ever access in a dozen playthroughs.  Even if you don't like people, you can solo matches. I can't play as a Batarian Vanguard who punches peoples face of in the SP. A lot has been given to this game through MP, people don't like it because of EPeen or it's competitive nature, they like it because it's fun. 4th place gets the same XP and credits as 1st.

I thought this is something the MP hating SPer's would understand.  In my view, human biotics are very rare and for the most part ostracized, and Kaiden is basially the only one from the first generation of trained biotics that actually made it to battle.  Therefore in my viewpoint, Shepard can't be a biotic.  It's how I view the story, and if you view it differently, I understand.

Once again you are misjudging. Most people in the MP community don't act like this (unless joking with their own friends). We mostly play for fun. It's a very rash generalization that you came up with. I simply corrected you because your statement WAS false and that's because I know what the people are like since I've played with most of them. Anyone who actually tries to compete in MP in a serious way is obviously being silly since there is nothing to compete for.

LOL! This thread is a good read. Keep it up SP players!  It's amazing how insecure some of you are about multiplayer. Why would any true COD fan give a crap about ME3MP? I can guarantee that the majority of their fanbase would never buy into ME3MP and vice versa. I'm pretty sure there are a lot more laid back, normal people in the MP community than in the SP community judging from what I've seen in the last few days. Are we competitive? Of course not! You must really suck at videogames (and probably many other things in life) if you think a community that's based on helping each other improve and having a laugh doing it is competitive. Remember, we are a co-op community, that is to say co-operative... Wow, some people are really dense in here if I have to keep spelling it out...

Like you aren't lumping all MP players of every game in existence into the same boat by conflating a 4 player TPS/RPG Co-Op hybrid to a 20+ player competitive FPS.

Funny you mention CoD, because in the last one I played through, Raul Mendez was a much better antagonist with more sensible motivations and less contrived idiot ball moments than starbrat or the Reapers despite the SP component of those games mostly being the videogame equivalent of Michael Bay popcorn films. For all your criticsms, their paper thin plots are often much more grounded and relatable than than hammy "Space Jesus singlehandedly saves the universe from space Cthulu by teaching everyone to love".

Why are you trying to take an intellectual high ground when you play a game that has an entire species of aliens composed of human looking, often scantily clad blue female supermodels? The series is fun and the characters are often compellingly well written, but it isn't Dostoyevsky. Get over yourself.

Agreed 100% and you're awesome.

Oh, I get what you mean now. Yeah, I think you're right that there's 0 reactivity to being a biotic user. I just didn't parse the word "sacrilegious" in that way.

Perhaps this could conceivably be an issue in certain societies on earth, given its relative infancy in becoming a part of the galactic community, but Shepard lives primarily among alien races, one of which is entirely biotic. It would make no sense for a human biotic to get a lot of grief on places like the Citadel for simply being a biotic, when you have asari everywhere.

I completely agree. In fact I would rather say that the ending of the ME3 killed the franchise for good, there is no room for continuation whatsoever. Moving to another galaxy pretty much tells us this new ME is an afterthought, with the likely intent cashing in.

Now I am perfectly ok with that, as long as we are also getting ME3MP part II.

Most players never see the end of a game. I don't see how a bad ending could do that much harm.
