Well they have to be reminded of their place before they can begin climing the social order.
But seriously, have you ever looked? The MP forum and community is nothing like that. I wish it were that vicious to new players, but all anyone ever wants to do is help new players. I don't get it, because I've no interest in more people getting on my level (as if they could anyway) and making me look less awesome.
I only have the current forums to go by. Like I mentioned earlier, I recognize folks that are in the MP crowd that were the ones that told me to try the series in the first place. <waves to Dreamgazer>
Besides, don't you want the new players to match your level, or at least try to? Wouldn't that make for a more fun and effective MP round if everyone was more at an equal level? In games with PvP, I understand the competitive nature of "being the best." In a MP system based on teamwork? It doesn't make sense to me.
At least with SP the only people that can give me a hard time is myself, and my husband. My husband just teases me when I geek out over something I love in the game, or if I have an unexpected case of death. Oh and my dogs will look at me funny when I'm cackling and taking out Cerberus idiots.
@Jeremiah I know the forums are never the best place to judge, but I also know that a lot of people enjoy MP without the ego or the elitism. Sadly, I haven't run into that as much as "SP scrub" or "MP CoD zombie" in the ME forums. Both insults are freaking stupid. As long as someone is having a good time, and feel like they are getting their money's worth from the game, it doesn't matter to me.
None of us are "master race" anything. We're a bunch of video game nerds that love talking about a video game series. We're all equal, as far as I'm concerned.
