SP is all drama. Just put something out and focus on the MP Bioware.

topkek.

Also lolSP. You losers are responsible for my creation

henceforth you automatically lose every internet argument ever. Except ones on chemical analysis of your alien waifu's sweat, but only because no sane person wants to participate in them, not because you aren't garbage at everything.

BSN, BSN never changes. & from judging this thread there's enough drama from the MP side of things to put in the SP for ME:A.

I'm curious, so please don't mind the question. What do you mean?

I would like it to stay separate, completely. As in optional, completely.
I don't want it to even touch singleplayer.

Forgive another question, but what happened that made you rage? I apologize if I'm reading tone into text that might not be there, but you seem very frustrated. :(

You could say that. The multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 managed to break me.  :P

Try to not to stress it if you can. Life's too short to let strangers with avatars made of pixels get under your skin. :)

Remember, the best (at one time) of us have been bested by the computer.  Some of us have learned to accept that.

It was mainly the designer choices of the NPCs that made me mad. Not the cultivated gameplay itself. No matter, I only played it as a timesink, woah it's 9 o'clock already?

Good point. I can't help it though, I'm a competitive rager at heart.

I used to be like that as well. I'm a former PVP'er and guild GM for a WoW raiding guild years back. I've mellowed out with time. I got married, bought a home, got three dogs and it seemed to help give me some perspective. These days I don't stress too much over things like that.

Besides, most of these debates can get very silly. All I can think of is the Sega vs Nintendo debate from my childhood. Same thing, different packaging.

I play SP, but I think both MP and SP have their place in ME:A. Heck, I've supported requests by MP'ers to have some weapons or armor goodies unlocked in a SP game. I wouldn't want anything game breaking, but I don't see any harm in it. I think that it would be nice if a dedicated SP'ers could have similar unlocks for the multiplayer. It would be a great way to encourage folks to try MP.

I don't support forcing people to play MP (that was just idiotic of the devs) just to get the "best" endings, but I think things like the weapon/armor suggestion are neat ideas. I also admit that I suck at MP in most games, but I'd never begrudge players for enjoying it. We're playing the same game in different ways.

Anyhow, I've said my two credits for now. Keep cool, have fun and play on!

Oh yeah, I really don't mind MP at all, I just wouldn't want it to touch SP in ways that can affect something major like the ending (good thing the EC DLC fixed that by lowering the required EMS.)

But other than that, MP is fun and time consuming and challenging at least. But eh, I play ME for the story and I would hate it to turn into a MP fest. Bad enough I'm quick-tempered at anything competitive anyways (even if they're just annoying computers but I swear those Geth have a mind of their own, literally.)

Anyways, I just wanted to have an overall consensus about MP in ME and I got it.

Tell your husband I said hi (or wife)

Ah, gotta love spotty AI. Tis truly the bane of many gamers, regardless of preferred playstyle. ;)

I'll tell my husband you said hello. In case you're wondering, I am a woman, and I've been happily married for 10 years as of June. I got lucky and married my best friend. It's not perfect, as nothing really is, but it's good. When the one you love knows to get you Sabbath tickets over flowers/candy for Valentine's Day, you know you married the right person. :P

Have fun tonight, if you have time. Me, I'll try to play some ME3 for the first time in a week if my dogs can stay mellow for more than 10 minutes. They aren't bad dogs, just hyper. It's another reason why I haven't tried MP yet. When you've got a puppy that likes to use the older dogs as a chew toy, it's tough to get into any sort of match. IMO, few things are as pathetic in PVP/MP as the person that keeps having to go afk, and I don't want to be "that guy."

i absolutely prefer PVP in my games.

That said.  I have played many games.  AI is generally better than people are.   Competitive play is not about "who is better"  IMO.  It's about who leaves their hiding spot first and gets killed.  When you get to a certain level players know the maps in and out.  They watch the choke points and its stand off.  When everyone is good and accurate the one that spots you from their camping spot is going to win.

You're making me feel like a toddler here, Not fair.  :(  Hopefully I'll still be playing vidya games when I'm at that age.

But yeah, I know what you mean, I have to get up about every 15 minutes ago and scream at my dogs and tell em to hush so they aren't scratching at the windows.

Good luck with that, I'm going to keep giving MP a try after I finish the trilogy...10 more times. Maybe I'll be able to get used to playing it without popping a vein.

Look up Jester Thomas, he is the only NPC I've ever seen who has ever made me think twice of them not being a real person.

I love PvP as well, at least when I lose it becomes something to learn from. Don't know if I can ever learn from NOT getting stunlocked by Geth every 5 seconds.

@Bowl Sorry, the quote system is failing me here.

One last note: My dad turns 66 this year (yikes) and his Steam collection puts my entire PC/PS3/PS4 collection to shame. He has been gaming since pinball was big, and I grew up with Atari and Nintendo. You probably will still enjoy gaming as you get older, but you won't stress the small stuff as much. ;)

I'm 36, 37 in September. One of my buddies here on the BSN is 50.

I don't know about all that.  If you dying to AI...especially geth you got a lot to learn.  You sure you get nothing out of it?

Ah, I "grew" up on Ratchet and Clank/Jak and Daxter and Morrowind.  <_< So my collection is pretty linear and unimportant.

Maybe when I'm 60 I'll step up, show them youngins how Mass Effect was back in my days.

I figured as much. This is probably one of the most matured forums I've been to (minus QMR) so that's not surprising to me.

I probably do. They're the enemies that me rage like no other. Constant stun-stun-stun, ridiculous. I'm used to being face-to-face with enemies so hiding behind cover doesn't really work for me unless I'm an infiltrator.

While QMR didn't have anything to do with the games from ME2 on there are many that say there would be no ME if it wasn't for him.  This is something he will not openly admit and I don't know what role was filled or even if they were an employee at bioware an investor or what, but they do good work and the forum is a better place because of it.

I agree. Should QMR ever decide to return, he'd be on the fast track to being BioWare's next CEO.

No thanks. Bad enough I have to deal with that garbage on souls, don't need it in a shooter too.

Don't tell me you're the type to run off a cliff or summon another player as soon as I spawn in your world.
