Typically Thunderdomes go all 10 waves, and the person with the highest score at the end 'wins'. Normally this doesn't take more than 30 minutes.

You people need to think logically. Maybe they'll do something like destiny only more mature and better in the future but whining about it isn't gonna solve anything. I agree more emphasis should be put on mp but not at the cost of story rich RPG single player. Without that what is the point. Multiplayer gets boring too, that's why there is awesome SP and vice versa. Both should coexist with each other. If you have fun in multiplayer with something like tdm or horde mode and it can help you out a bit in SP that's cool. Say in ME:A you establish a colony in sp and you go on multiplayer and defend an area from khet pirates or whatnot and your success saves the the colony, that seems cool. When you think about it it's an interesting idea. If your with me I'd like to hear some more ideas on how it can work. If you don't, logically explain how it may be better.

If you suggest combo mode then there are a large number of sp players that will logically go belly-up, because
1) slow reflexes - they want to pause reality, but can't, then
2) water under the bridge - some SP (not all) can't go back and play it 30 times with the enemies standing exactly at the right places, ( it's a type of OCD - we have them over at MP also , ie those that forgot about coop and solely play solo's and not even the community challenges).

You have to logically rethink how to include "more" varieties of players (maybe sometime oblvious of each other) and not less players...

Well good.  We can always use more allies.  I think you only make ally #3    I've tried and tried to steal QMR, but she won't have it.  I nuked her last night though so that's what she gets.

It is nice to have though, especially in a game like ME3. ME3 MP was the first game that made me go, "Whoah, this isn't as near as toxic as some other games." In fact, it ranks at the bottom of toxicity levels, and at the top of fun levels. Think there's a connection to be made?

Doubtful, silly QMR is only used to using Claymoars with Quarians. Novaguard is my specialty.

 

But yes actually, I do have an idea. Gotta see if they're going to go through with this seriously though.

That's taking things a bit to far don't you think?

There is no "hatred" in it at all, frustration is more directed towards cheaters etc that actively sabotage the experience for others.

Sure we joke around a bit about less experienced players, but that I think is more based on that it reminds us of that we were there at one point as well, everyone have to start at the basics at one point.

No- I never laughed at those that were new. Even laughing at veterans is difficult. Laughing with is much more fun. In BSN most rants are about usual patterns - ie not about any specific individual but rather typical personality types. It is eerie meanwhile how we just know what what 11 waves will be like from that first wave (and note -this is not AI it's every day people). See my third link in my signature, what I mean.

I remember this. I apologize for the constant sabotaging,(I never cheated mind you. Just intentional messing around.)  and purposeful losing back in ME3 when MP was required for the "best" ending. Wasn't mad at MP players, more at Bioware.

Only time I hate pugs is when they are leechers.  Even when you are brand new to the game and have no equipment at all you can still play an Engineer or an Adept and combos will get that job done perfectly.  Would I like to lay down or be on the computer while people play the game and make me easy credits? Yes.  Do I leech? No.

Wait, there's people who actually want this immersive story driven RPG to turn it's focus to MP?...

I have a theory that back in the early 2000s trolls started saying things like that to start fights. Then stupid people thought it was a popular opinion and ran with it. Coz 'gamer' and 'I love gaming too much' internet cool and all that jazz.

I'm off to kill a Salarian trying to cure the Genophage. I'm not happy about it. But that says everything about how well that particular story arc is told. I actually care.

Urdnot Stifler has retired from MP. It was fun but doesn't compare to the SP. Truth be told the combat feels very repetitive without fire explosions.

Its the story that keeps me playing.

Well, two points.  1.  The entire point of having been there and the frustration of not being where the "top" players are now.  2.  Who cares?  As long as they're not telling me that I suck and l2p n00b and other stuff, is a heartwarming feature.  Try and have that in LoL or DOTA.  I doubt very much that you'll be able to get past the instruction screen, simply because the makers of both games know how toxic they are and put in instruction to thicken up your skin.

 

EDIT :  Well, actually three points.  3.  I'm almost always coming in first or second in silver games.  I've learned to accept that and love it.  I love that other people are there, even if it's somebody who's never played MP before.
