SP is all drama. Just put something out and focus on the MP Bioware.

I don't have to agree with it.

I don't understand . I didn't say If You should be happy about it, I asked why You think They were cut off. As far as I know Montreal developed new classes after ME3's release.

The first thing I typically did over Xbox live was mute everyone. It was never a bad decision.

Otherwise, the best thing about playing the MP was using all the fun abilities that they cut out of the SP. That was criminal.

Why do you think they were cut out? The SP was developed in Edmonton, the MP in Montreal. They were independent of each other.

It's faster-paced and more frenetic, and my success or failure is dependent upon others (unless I create my own definitions, which I would probably do).

Those all make it worse, not better.

sounds like a L2P issue

Indeed, that place is wonderful. Just need Bfizzle62 to join now.

The MPers are doing the exact same thing, 67 times.

But the MP is a much smaller world with a much narrower range of possible actions.

Moreover, when I design a character and set him loose, I'm not trying to make him succeed. I just want him to act authentically. If I did that in MP, where I wasn't actually trying to win, that would probably really irritate the other players.

I play very well. My objectives are merely different from yours.

I don't rush off to kill things just because BioWare says so.

Nah, it would make a great match, roleplay as a tragic hero, bound to lose. As good as a real RPG session.

As long as you help in the money waves, most people are pretty laid back.

Who said MEA MP will be just horde mode and short waves. Think bigger people! Imagine a MP like GTA online, only better!

I think we're seeing a fundamental disconnect between the MP perspective and Sylvius'.

I think the better approach is to not get overhyped and expect too much...for both SP and MP.

I don't even know what those are, but they sound contrived.

Tru that. I will buy MEA only months after release, if multiple independent reviews reccomend it. Lesson learned after ME3.

Meh, some simply don't want to see the light and ascend to gaming heaven.

By the Godess, we've tried to enlighten you. We really did.

Mark my words when there is crying and despair again because your romance option misses a small but essential detail. The gates of MP will still be open for those who repent. Repent - and we will reluctantly accept you as the new PuG and show you how to get a good Phantom spooning.

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. Just stop with the silly SP and focus on the mighty MP already.

Yo... is this real?

It is real.  Read up on it a little bit.  Don't put that crap in your body, or if you do make it rarely.

You may not have noticed, but Sylvius' definition of "playing well" is not the same as yours.

Hopefully, the ability to design a character and set him loose in the game world to see what he does.

What?  How do you "let him loose...to see what he does."????  You control everything he does, this is a game, not a movie.

Well, I believe getting the most out of these games does require a little bit of imagination. I'm assuming that Sylvius doesn't completely self insert into every character he plays.

I'm a chump in real life. Ignoring their drastically different circumstances, my Mass Effect and Dragon Age avatars have different motivations and predilections, and are probably much more interesting overall than I am. It stands to reason that they'll probably respond to different situations in different ways.

If TommyServo the human were dropped into a videogame, he'd be dead before he found the crowbar or the first pistol.

GTA Online is not the kind of multiplayer experience I'd want out of a Mass Effect multiplayer element. I'd rather it be closer to a Call of Duty and Halo in that there's multiple game modes with multiple objectives and it isn't just a horde mode with a win state.

But you still don't "set him loose to see what he does." you the player pick, based on whatever criteria you like.  You're not staring at the screen, a dialog wheel comes up and you lean back waiting to see what happens.  You pick your option, not some AI character you created.

He controls what he does according to the personality he's designed for that character. And whatever happens, hapoens.
