So after over a decade of internet bitching about wanting a FVII remake....It's finally happening.

http://au.ign.com/ar...nally-happening

Trailer Here:

And the official website is up.

http://ffvii-remake.square-enix.com

I'm highly skeptical of this.. I just can't see them keeping certain content, in the game. (Think Don Cornelo, and clouds cross dressing..).

Maybe,as someone who played the Original in the 90's, I'm just biased. Is anyone else feeling skeptical?

Thoughts on this news?

Is your nostalgia -sense on high?

Will you  inwardly groaning at the prospect of having to fight Sephiroth, again?

 Disscuss, and reminisce,

for the HONER of SOLDIER!

I'm getting it and I can't wait!  They took WAY too long, but its nice to have it.  When that PS4 with a TB drops and this game....time to get a new console.  I'm sure this will have my time occupied till Last of Us 2.

Hopefully, they don't screw it up. I would say I'm going to wait, and see and not pre-order..but that would be lying. This will be an instant buy, and pre-order limited edition..

The problem for is I've already replayed FF7 like 5-7 times... it's hard for me to necessarily want to play it again.

The graphics look pretty amazing, but I don't know... I mean lots of FF7 between Midgard and Sephiroth were really goofy to be honest, like there was a lot of kind of fillery stuff at times. Then again, seeing Red XIII and the Cosmos Canyon and stuff in max HD, or Aeris's death and so on... yeah..

One big question I have is what are they going to do with Nobuo's OST? If that's the same or just repolished or something I could be really excited about that.

I guess it says more about the state of gaming generally that a remaster could be such an exciting concept than the game itself, basically.

True. At the very least if it's good then maybe more people who've never played (yeah they're out there) it will get a chance. Which isn't a bad thing. It's become such an institution in gaming by now that I honestly think it deserves it.

Yeah I'm still surprised how many people haven't played it, it's not like possibly one of the greatest games ever made or something.

Haha I like 7, 9, and 4 all about equally.1, 2, 3, 5, 8 are still pretty cool though. 10, 12 are fun. I never played 11.

6 is a bit more special though for me.

I might get FF 15 if the gameplay is like Dark Souls.

the older games in the series have the gameplay made for casuals aka console peasants!

I do too, but I try not to ****** in people's ears then tell them its just rain.

Hope you guys enjoy your game, I'll be sitting here with Phantom Pain and Fallout 4.

You think so? 1-3 were pretty difficult honestly though in a grindy sense. 4-7 I think could be challenging at times in an active way, depending.

The floating continent in 6 for example requires a lot of active input on the players part.

Well it's not like playing FF7 means you don't play Fallout or MGS. I think I'm not as excited about Phantom Pain for similar reasons, I already played MGS2 like 5-6 times, MGS3 like 2-3 times, MGS1 like 3-4 times... I'm a bit metal geared out... still might play it anyway IDK.

Fallout 2 was my favorite, never really cared for fallout 3, but it was still a solid and fun experience in many ways.

Haha, I said I didn't like as much! I think I like X more than 12..... I thought some of the dungeons in 12 were pretty cool though for example like Pharos at Ridorana and so on, plus the gambit systems was pretty addicting.

Yeah I'm just teasing. I like to bash 12 because it's fun, but it's alright IMO. Probably one of the weakest in the series though.

5 was kinda lame I thought too in some ways. The problem with 12 is the director (Yasumi Matsuno) left like halfway so I don't they were ever able to really realize his vision, I don't think he would of even had Vaan or Penelo as characters.

Once he left the remaining people just made it the Balthier show.

Ugh, Vaan makes me seriously gag. It's like Vaan and Vanille are tied at my least favorite FF characters.

I never got past the main character's home village in FF5, but lame?

Heresy I say!

Yeah, not that I would know, considering.

Well the most famous thing from V is probably the Gilgamesh OST

I don't know it was just kind of....

I think the issue was the main character's name was Bartz and the final boss was named X-Death. It was still a fun experience though.
