Well it's also just the whole interface/system is more seamless in general in FF7 than 8 or 9 (which yeah also have that cinematic intro as well before every battle).

FF8's goes a bit too far.

But I think FF9 was pretty okay on its own.

But yeah, FF7 was really slick.

Y'know, after getting over the sour taste left by yet another piece of "First on PS4!" nonsense, I had the horrible realisation that the only FF I've actually played is 13.

And both Dissidia games for some reason.

Given the chance to play a remaster of one of the better ones, I should probably rectify that.

8 also had those completely insane summons that took like 30 minutes

Outside of the goofy camera I was pretty satisfied with 9.

Not to mention that you had to junction EVERYTHING.

Jesus.

Magic wasn't really useful outside cures and stuff, and even then you could just level your physical attacks to be insane.

Heard the baddest of asses' voice in that trailer too. David Lodge, noice that he's in the game. They need to bring back Mandy Moore for Aerith because the one who voices her in Advent Children was just bad.

They will probably use Andrea bowen, who is the  most recent voice of areith (AKA she was Areith in  Dissadeia 2).

Lol!

Dem manly bodies in HD. Sadly, I don't think scenes like this:

group-room.jpg

feels-good.jpg

Will make it into the remake. :(

The tumblirina generation will get their pitchforks and whine about how it discriminates blah blah blah.  <_<

lol did it happen in the game for real? If so what's going on?

I don't approve a remake of a game people know very well to this day, if they did a whole new chapter with old and new characters - using the same universe, the thing would have made more sense to me.

If they are going to handle the story differently I hope they just alter it in a way so that the convoluted drivel that if FF7 is more... FF9-ish.

I liked the twist, I really did. I also liked Cloud 'finding himself' in a way.

But the story is just everywhere. Being complicated for the sake of being complicated does not make for good story telling.

Honestly,  I don't see any massive changes to the game, aside from cutting out  'inappropriate content', that would upset tumblrinas. The thing with FF7, is that it is such a cult classic, that has been analysed, by fans worldwide..That any significant changes, will  not go down well. Combine that with a majority of FF7 fans being well into their mid to late 20's,

Emphasis on started. I think I maybe stomached about 3 hours.

You lasted three hours? I lasted only one. And yeah I agree with the other poster, try X..it has a really nice Remaster on both PS3 and PS4.

lol did it happen in the game for real? If so what's going on?

Yes, it happened in the game for real..Its during the cross dressing mission.  The best thing about the area, is that it was filled with 'dummied content'  when it was hacked so many extra ' inappropriate scenes' were found. Like telling a girl that you were a pervet and wanted to sniff her pantties.

It makes much more sense to remake a game people already know and love, than something lesser known. FF7 is one of the most iconic games in the last 20 years. People have been asking for it for a long time. Diehards want it. And there is still a market for people new to the game. Especially now with updated graphics. It's money in the bag.

The whole operation is unoriginal, vulgar conservatism, even if it would make a lot of money. This is one of the faults that doomed today videogame industry's quality, where everyone (especially videogame cartels) look at money as the idol Mammon, neglecting the quality they should put into the product and its concept.

Laguana was pretty great, I'll admit. It's just that Triple Triad fucks my **** up, lol. It was near impossible for me to play FF8 and not become obsessed with playing it, to the point where my sole motivation for moving the story forward was the thought of getting to play the card game some more.

Ah, now I remember why I never got far in FF8: the junction system. Annoyed the hell out of me.

Nope! In fact that's why I was just linking that thing, plus Rinoa and the assassination mission against Edea, the fight for the Gardens, the part between Rinoa and Squall when they're in the spaceship. Ultimecia > Necron, many FF final bosses.

We just got started on the junction/draw/long cinematic random battle starter that was all pretty annoying.

It's why I only beat FF8 twice, I don't regret it and it was fun but it was too hard to deal with all the extra stuff for more than that.

That's true. I just loved the story. Yeah it was sappy and romantic, but I loved it. Also, GFs not taking mana was genius.

When I first played FF7 and Aeris died, I felt nothing for her because I really didn't understand what was going on. Now though, I probably will feel the same with the exception she is a bad-ass healer. Then I will miss her.

Your heart is ice Fumbles! To be completely honest though I already knew about it so I didn't really feel anything too much when the moment happened.

Red XIII and his father and that whole thing hit harder because I didn't expect it.
