I asked this question when DA:I first came out
now it's been sometime and I know not all accept the name-- "The Herald of Andraste." lol
Which one out of these 3 heroes do you enjoy more?
which one do you believe is more powerful? in Solo combat and Party combat.
If these three beasts fought against one another who do you believe will come out on top?
In a 3 man fight! (or 2 woman and man fight....or 2 man and woman fight or 3 woman fight.)
The Hero of Ferelden , The Champion of Kirkwall or The Herald of Andraste?

Hawke is probably my favourite. They feel as real as the companions, a really treasured character to me. Strange really, since elves are my favourite race to play. I especially love the sarcastic and aggressive dialogues.
The more powerful is easily the Inquisitor, with their god-mode hand. No matter how strong the Warden or Hawke may be in straight-up combat, the Inq can rip holes into the Fade. That's just on a completely different level!

I like them all but:
1. Sarcastic Hawke (though he belongs to the game I liked the least, they're a jewel)
2. Inquisitor
3. Warden (annoyed me they could not talk)
As for power:
1. Inquisitor
2. Warden
3. Hawke

I have more than one of each so it would depend on which is being compared to which but if I had to choose in my first world state;
1. Inquisitor.
2. Warden
3. Hawke
As to who'd win between them, I honestly cannot say since each could counter the other in some way. It's the same problem with my Revan and my Exile; each got their own advantage physically, mentally and in terms of skills.

I also have more than one of each, so it's something like:
1. Mage Warden
2. City Elf Warden
3. Snarky Hawke
4. Inquisitor
5. Diplomatic Hawke
As for a fight, I'd say the Inquisitor has them all beat. Partly from superior resources - having tons of underlings to gather exotic resources for you and a castle with a top-notch weapons forge is pretty helpful for making sure you get the very best gear. But his/her fighting technique seems to be the coolest one so far, too. I mean, seeing a knight-enchanter flash-stepping around the battlefield and maintaining a personal force field that's fueled by the strokes of an oversized blade of pure energy is... quite a bit cooler than anything else in the games so far, I feel.
Hawke comes second, though he/she would come first just going by DA2, where he/she effortlessly mows down entire armies of enemies that would overrun even the Inquisitor. However, DA2 is Varric's account of things, and Varric is known to embellish.
When actually see Hawke fighting alongside the Inquisitor in DAI, he/she seems to be capable of keeping up, but no more.
The Warden comes last, being an altogether grittier sort of hero who has to rely on traps and ambushes to deal with any group of enemies larger than his/her own party. Which is actually large part of why he/she is cooler than the other two in my eyes. He/she has to work for his/her victories, yo. ![]()

I think there were at least 10 such threads...
But to not spam
I prefer the warden as dao allowed truly create own character.
As for who is stronger it is impossible to determine.

I think my female Dalish mage Inquisitor is my favourite BioWare protagonist so far. She's looking like being my canon although she's the only playthrough I've finished as yet so that may change. I'd rank my canon male circle mage Warden a close second and sarcastic female DW rogue Hawke last, but I love them all.
As to who would win in a fight... Well the Inquisitor has taken down more dragons than the other two combined, so if that's anything to go by... Between the two mages it depends on whether the Inquisitor has a defence against Mana Clash because that was pretty deadly in mage-on-mage combat. That said, a well timed hit from fully upgraded assassinate could mean that rogue Hawke would take either one of them out easily if she got close enough.

(1) Maelyn Trevelyan, unbeliever cast in the role of a religious figure, explorer of magical power with imperial ambitions.
(2) Eorlin Amell, famous Warden but Fade explorer by heart, turned into a political intellectual of the mage revolution.
(3) Rowan Hawke, angry mage revolutionary who killed her lover because he wanted to become a martyr.
While this list is ordered, I really like them all.

For me it's got to be the Hero of Ferelden with the Inquisitor at a close second. I love the fact that we can shape and mold what their personalities are, what their emotions are and what their reactions to situations in the world is. In the Inquisitor's case we can even imagine some kind of background for him/her. With Hawke... it just felt like Bioware's character with three set personalities and limited options to choose from - it's not as personal or as fun to play for me. Not to mention you couldn't select a race which was a huge downside for me.
As for a deathmatch between the three? I'm gonna put my money on the Warden lol.

Who would win?
Party: The Inquisitor, because she has Cole and Cassandra.
Solo: The Hero of Fereldan, because she has Mana Clash (and all my protagonists are mages).
I enjoy both the HoF and the Inquisitor equally. (Didn't play DA2).

Inquisitor, Warden, Hawke
Although I don't think any companions can top the banter between Alistair and Morrigan! I would agree that the Inquisitor is more powerful than the other two due to the mark

I love Sera, but that's beside the point. We're talking about the best team to win a fight here, no?

Hawke.
Warrior to Mage they outstrip the competition. The Warden is a rotting sack of meat that's rotting even quicker and the Inquisitor has a massive overly sensitive to magic gash on their palm.
Hawke is the only party lacking any major PC weakness

Actually I like Sera too, but she does literally make my ears hurt (her banter and comments are really too loud). For my combat purposes Cole is just as good, even if he doesn't have Thousand Cuts. I have to say, I really like how rogues in DAI have become so powerful (Zevran in DAO was ok but not on the same level).

Companion-wise, I agree, although rogue Hawke was a death machine with the Assassin specialisation.
