I'm not surprised people are complaining about this, not because it's a bad idea, I personally find the concept of traveling to another galaxy to be very fascinating and exciting, but because fans in general have a real hard time letting go of things. Shenmue 3 made 2 millions dollars in 9 hours because enough people wanted to return to that world, fans were cheering at the revelation of a Final Fantasy 7 remake and other kickstarters are making a lot of tosh just catering to people who want a return to world's they loved. I understand the desire to remain in the Milky Way and immerse your self in familiar surroundings and character, I just don't agree that forging a new story in the same universe that progresses from what's gone before without overriding the decisions of players is something to be feared and hated.
That said I'm not going to bother entering another argument that goes round and round since
1. It's not my Job to convince people, it's Bioware
and
2. As long as I enjoy ME: Andromeda, the opinions of people formed 18 months before the games release and with no gameplay, progression system, characters or anything else shown will have no impact on my fun.
Honestly, I hope this decision works out well over all, but if not, I at least respect the desire to move on.
